The Quirk of a Quirkless

Summary:

Shouta scowled as he watched the kids in his homeroom banter with each other as they worked through the homework the other teachers had given them throughout the day. They were loud, but not louder than normal.

No. He wasn't scowling due to their volume, that wasn't it. They didn't annoy him seeing as they weren't getting louder than normal. Instead, Shouta's eyes and attention was only for one student in particular.

Izuku Midoriya, his resident problem child and as Zashi liked to tease, his favorite student.

Work Text:

Shouta scowled as he watched the kids in his homeroom banter with each other as they worked through the homework the other teachers had given them throughout the day. They were loud, but not louder than normal.

No. He wasn't scowling due to their volume, that wasn't it. They didn't annoy him seeing as they weren't getting louder than normal. Instead, Shouta's eyes and attention was only for one student in particular.

Izuku Midoriya, his resident problem child and as Zashi liked to tease, his favorite student.

The green haired student had been rather subdued the last week, his normally excitable personality dulling steadily as the week passed. His bright green eyes had slowly dulled until it was like they were unseeing. There were more than a few times that Shouta had seen the kid jerk about, almost as if he had been startled.

Shouta had already been worried about the kid as he was the only quirkless student in the whole school, but his class had surprised him, banding together after the USJ attack to help protect their more shy and friendly classmates, like Kouda, from the more rude and quirkist students of the school. Not that those students lasted long after their attitudes were revealed.

But this? This wasn't normal. And the rest of the class had noticed, working together to keep an eye on their friend. Shouta was even surprised that the blasty blonde, Bakugo had toned down his explosions after realizing that Midoriya was jumpier than normal. He knew that the two of them had come from the same middle school and had been friends but they didn't act like it most times; Bakugo was too brash compared to the greenette's more skittish nature.

Shouta grunted as he stood, stepping out of his sleeping bag and instantly the class went silent.

"The next half of class will be heroics, so when the bell rings, I expect you to change and meet me in Gym Gamma within 15 minutes." He stated, eyes pulling back every few moments to the green haired problem child.

Normally, at the thought of practical heroics, Midoriya got excited but as the same with everything else this week, he merely grunted and closed his eyes.

Enough was enough.

"Also Midoriya, stay behind today after class. I would like to discuss your analysis with you." Midoriya nodded, wincing as his head moved and Shouta noted the pain that streaked across his face.

The bell rang a moment later and Shouta walked out headed towards the gym in question his phone in his hand as he texted a hurried message to Nedzu about calling Midoriya's mother into the school for a meeting.

The students were quick, most of them filing in under the 12 minute mark with the rest trailing slightly behind at 13 and 14 minutes. Opening his mouth to tell that group to do better, Shouta shut it again at the sight of Midoriya in the middle, his classmates around him shooting Shouta looks of fear and worry.

One of the boys of the group, Kaminari, stepped up to him, biting his lip. "Sensei? Something is wrong with Izuku. He's said that he's been getting migraines and his headache meds ran out but I think it's more than that. He-" The blonde cut off as a shout of panic rose from the students and Shouta looked up just in time to see the problem child himself collapse, his body already shaking before he even hit the ground.

"Iida? Go get Recovery Girl! Yaoyarozu, make a stopwatch and time this. " Shouta shouted, racing to the kids' side. Quickly, he rolled the kid onto his side, moving just fast enough to avoid getting hit with Midoriya's sick.

A jacket was shoved his way and Shouta wadded it up under sweat soaked green curls, sighting with relief when the kids stopped shaking only a few minutes later.

"5 minutes sensei." Yaoyarozu offered, her voice soft but also heavy with worry. He nodded, "Thank you. Does anyone know what happened before he collapsed?" He asked the rest of the class.

Most of them shook their heads but Kaminari and Shinso, the two students he had seen spend the most of their time with him, stepped forward.

"Sensei. Izuku hasn't been eating. He says that his headaches have been making him feel sick, but I noticed that he was also coming in early and showering in the locker rooms before morning announcements.”

Kaminari hummed in agreement. "His phone has been shut off too. I tried calling him over the weekend and it had been disconnected. He said that he couldn't afford the plan but…" He trailed off, Bakugo picking up the slack.

"The nerds mom likes to punish him by not paying for his phone. She and my old hag are friends but she hasn't been by or called the old hag in nearly a month."

Shouta shut his eyes. He was almost sure that the kid had been abandoned but even if he hadn't, Shouta was still going to investigate the issues he had been seeing.

He didn't have to wait long as the gym doors opened and Recovery Girl, Iida and two robots carrying a stretcher entered. "Iida, go to Present Mic and let him know what happened. Yaoyarozu, take the class back to the classroom after you all change back." Shouta ordered, lifting the teen onto the stretcher.

He followed them all the way to the infirmary, resituating the greenette on a bed before stepping back to let Recovery Girl check him over. Shouta sighed as Nedzu leapt down from a vent, landing on an empty bed with a frown.

"The kiddo's mother abandoned him, didn't she?" Shouta asked his boss, still not taking his eyes off of his student.

"Indeed. I've already got Tsukauchi looking for her. I've also looked into his file and I was very curious to find no mention of headaches nor medications that he's supposed to take. Obviously, I also looked for any doctor's appointments where he would have been prescribed one. There was nothing." Nedzu hummed.

Chiyo huffed as she returned from her desk. "That's because he has not been taking headache medications. His bloodwork shows that he is undergoing withdrawals from quirk suppressants."

Shouta coughed, "Quirk suppressants? But that would mean…" He trailed off and Nedzu picked up the thought.

"He's not quirkless."

Nedzu chittered angrily, showing the tiniest hint of animalistic emotions before shaking his fur back down, paw reaching the stubborn spots. "I apologize." He offered. Shouta nodded and turned back to the older woman only to stop as the infirmary door opened again with Shinso, Kaminari and Bakugo entering the space.

"We brought the nerd's shit. Figured it could help." Bakugo gruffed. Shinso laid the bag on an empty bed, his eyes- like Kaminari's- trained on the greenette.

Shinso tossed an empty bottle over, "Those are the meds for his headaches. I told him that he shouldn't have been cutting them in half. Denki even suggested that he come see Recovery Girl in order to get them refilled but he kept avoiding it and changing the topic." Shouta watched as his normally quiet student brushed green curls out of Midoriya's face.

"They weren't for his headaches."

The room turned to face Nedzu, who sighed. "Not for his headaches?" Kaminari questioned, moving closer to the other two boys' sides. Nedzu shook his head, "He's going to need you, all three of you by his side when he wakes."

Shinso cocked one eyebrow, his face scarily similar to Shouta's own. "He's our boyfriend. There isn't anywhere else we'd ever be." Bakugo, abnormally silent, huffed, "If they weren't for his fucking headaches, then what were the damn things?"

Shouta exchanged glances with the other two adults before sighing heavily then answering. "From what we've already figured out, Midoriya has been taking illegal quirk suppressants."

The silence at his statement was deafening. Then the yelling started with both Bakugo and Shinso arguing that the greenette would never while the normally loud and excitable blonde remained quiet. But his voice, shaking with anger, quickly cut through the other two.

"His mother." He nearly whispered it, but even so his words were heard clearly. "She's been dosing him against his will and knowledge, hasn't she?"

The other two teens fell silent, looking at the three adults for confirmation before Bakugo swore. "She's made him live the life of a quirkless child all these years for no reason?" He growled. "That fucking bitch watched as our classmates and teachers treated him with hatred and painful encounters all these years when he could have been normal?!"

Shinso snorted, "I don't know about normal but he definitely wouldn't have been so heavily hurt last year."

Nedzu hummed. "Seems that I have a school to raze to the ground." Shouta watched as the blasty blonde grinned, all of his teeth being shown in a display of feralness that sent shivers down his spine. "I'll be more than happy to help." Bakugo stated.

"So what happens to Izuku now? I mean obviously he's not going back to his mom…" Kaminari asked softly, not looking at anyone other than his sleeping boyfriend. Shouta hummed, "No. He's not. Once he wakes, he'll be given a choice. He can either be fostered by UA with a guardian, probably me since I am his homeroom teacher, not to mention my own quirk which will be useful against his new one or, if he prefers, I can adopt him outright. Either way, I will help him through this."

There was a commotion at the door before Iida's back pushed it open as he dragged a snarling, nearly feral Present Mic inside.

"Sensei!" Iida called, panic filling his voice. Shouta ran over, pulling his husband away from the struggling teen and the door. "What happened?" He asked.

A quick glance over the blonde revealed specks of blood across his face while his knuckles were drenched in red all the way up to his elbows. His hero uniform, normally black leather was off colored, the red on it changing it slightly while the normally gray speakers were brown and dripping onto the floor.

"All-" Iida cut himself off, a flash of anger crossing his face before he continued. "All Might thought it would be a good idea to speak his very quirkest and idiotic thoughts about Izuku and several of our classmates in front of Mic-sensei." He spared a glance at Bakugo, Shinso and Kaminari before sighing.

Shouta frowned, "He wouldn't attack All Might like this without it being more than that."

Iida growled, "He said that Shinso, Shoji and Ashido didn't have heroic quirks and therefore would never be good enough. Sero held him back at first but then he continued by stating that Bakugo would have been a good hero if he wasn't acting like a villain with his anger and then said that Koda was no better than a zookeeper and should just drop out so he didn't waste everyone's time."

Then, clenching his fists, Iida continued. "But then he spoke ill about Izuku." Shouta noted that the normally strict behaving student referred to the greenette by his first name but ignored it in favor of paying attention to the others in the room.

Kaminari sparked dangerously as he stormed closer. "What did that little bitch say about Zuku?"

Iida frowned and shook his head, likely ignoring how the blonde was referring to their teacher. "I do not wish to repeat it." Shouta grunted as Hizashi pushed off of him.

"He said that quirkless don't deserve to live and that he was surprised that Midoriya had not only survived this long but that he made it into the hero course before mentioning a few thoughts on how he suspected that Midoriya wouldn't last the rest of the day."

Iida nodded, "Which is when Sero let go and Mic-sensei DJ punched All Might's face."

Shouta snickered, “I hope you showed him his wrongs.” Iida sighed, “All Might was so surprised he…poofed? I mean he turned into…” He paused, thinking hard.

“Ashido called him a demented scarecrow, I believe.” He finished.

Recovery Girl snorted, “Sounds about right. I guess I should go make sure he won’t die.” Iida stopped her. “No need. Yaoyarozu called for emergency services and Midnight-Sensei is watching the rest of the class.” The bluenette blushed, “We might have lied to the operator and said that the man was an intruder that snuck onto campus where Mic-Sensei protected us from a stranger. They are supposed to be sending a police escort as well.”

Nedzu sighed, shuffling his raised fur down. Shouta hadn’t see it raise but seeing as all of his attention was on his student and his husband, that was to be expected.

“I’ll make sure he isn’t allowed to return.” Nedzu huffed, “His words were in direct violation of the contract he signed at the beginning of this year.”

Shouta moved to help Hizashi clean himself up, dragging him bodily towards the little ensuite bathroom while Nedzu followed Chiyo to her office, leaving the 4 teens alone to watch over their friend. As he cleaned his husband’s face, he told the man about the forced quirklessness.

Just as Shouta put away the last wet cloth, alarms screeched, startling him into using his quirk out of reflex. He raced back into the room to find Chiyo beside Midoriya, one of her hands guiding Shinso’s as he continued compressions, the other pumping the breather for the greenette. The other three teens were a few feet away, staring in horror as one of their number tried to keep their friend alive.

Shouta scrambled to replace Shinso and ignored the way the teen nearly fell to the ground as he hurried to get far enough from the bed that he wasn’t in the way.

The heart monitor continued to scream, reminding Shouta of his failure and yet it just made him work harder. His arms grew heavy and his hands hurt but Shouta didn’t stop, silently pleading with anything or anyone that would listen for his student’s heart to start again.

Chiyo sighed sadly, her shaking digits pulling the mask away from the kid’s face. “We lost him.” She muttered, causing Shinso and Kaminari to wail, the two clenching each other even as Iida and Bakugo tried their hardest to keep them standing.

Shouta growled, “I'm not giving up on him.” He continued, now taking over for the oxygen mask, warm skin replacing cold silicone as he both breathed for the kid and pumped his heart for him.

Just as Shouta bent down to breath once again, a gust of energy slammed into him, knocking him away and to the ground. He stared up into the air, his eyes feasting on the moving words, numbers and charts glowing a toxic green as they swirled each person in the room.

Iida was helping Chiyo to her feet, somehow ignoring the dates, graphs and information circling his own head while Chiyo’s was similar, just with a ton more information. He turned his head, finding the same amount, if not slightly less information hovering above Hizashi’s mildly flattened updo.

“Sho. The little listener’s quirk is insane.” Hizashi whispered as the two of them stood. Shouta moved back to the greenette’s side, sighing with relief when he noted that the machines were no longer screaming out their charge’s death but chirping out a beat, steady and even.

“He’s alive.” He breathed, his hand brushing sweat soaked curls away.

“He is. His quirk… I’ve never seen anything like it.” Chiyo stated in awe.

“Sho, the listener has your stats, your name, quirk, even your skill ratings just hovering above you.”

Shouta turned, looking into the large mirror. He couldn’t see anything in the mirror and chuckled, “Quirk can’t be seen in a mirror though. Problem child is going to have a lot of fun with this one.”

Bakugo snorted in the corner and Shouta glanced at him. “Go ahead back to class you four. I’ll keep him alive and safe so that you can let the other demon children know what is going on. As much as I’d like for Midoriya to tell them in his own time, we don’t know how he’s going to react to having a quirk. He’s going to need extra attention to heal up properly.”

He paused the group’s denials with a raised hand, “I know you all want to stay with him but I also know that when he wakes, he will be upset that you four missed classes to be with him. You know how he is. Besides, I’m sure the rest of you demons are chomping at the bit to know how he is doing.”

Finally, they left, returning the room to adults only. Nedzu huffed, leaping onto Shouta’s shoulders before landing inside the still open vent within the wall. “I’ll go ahead and start the paperwork. Chiyo, let me know when he wakes up.” The grate shut after him.

The older woman sighed, before also removing herself from the kid’s audience, grumbles about blonde bimbos and their big mouths floating in the air until the door shut behind her.

“Man, that was scary.” Hizashi breathed, slumping firmly into the room’s armchair. His hair was a mess, pieces of blonde sticking out of his carefully done updo, tiny flecks of red still scattered around.

Shouta nodded, his finger prodding at still floating series of numbers and letters that made no sense. “I wonder what these mean.” he mumbled.

The two men were silent for a moment before the blonde spoke. “You know, it kind of looks like what he writes in those notebooks of his.” Shouta startled, realizing that his husband was right.

“That means those notebooks are analysis. Coded analysis but still dangerous.” He answered, already pulling his phone out and putting it on speaker.

“Hey Nedzu? His notebooks, Zashi just realized that they are encoded analysis like he does for class. We need to find his stuff before someone else does.” He stated, hurrying through his new information before Nedzu could even speak. He listened as the principal typed before sighing.

“The kid is smart. Two weeks ago he came in early and put what looks like upwards of 30 notebooks into his locker. If you go get them, I can try to crack the code. We need to be sure of what he’s been writing, just in case it’s actually a journal and can help our case against his mother.”

Shouta grunted before hanging up. He glanced at his husband who was gently wiping sweat off of the kid’s forehead, gaining a small nod from the man before leaving the room.

As he reached the locker, Shouta chuckled. “Midoriya, you genius child.” He muttered, messing with the lock keeping the locker closed. It looked like the others but instead of the numbers being blue and sequential, this lock had green symbols and carried numbers, letters and random squiggles.

Taking a picture of it, he sent it to his boss before calling the Rat God. “Hey boss. Seems like Midoriya was very thorough with the protection of his notebooks.”

He listened to a full 5 minutes of cackling before sighing and interrupting the chaotic principal. “We could probably leave them for now since there is no telling which squiggle means what nor what he would have used for his combination.”

“Yes, that might be best. I’m good but without patterns or something to put it up against for reference, I more than likely wouldn’t be able to crack his code. Quite genius, I must say. I do wonder what else this child has managed to slip past us.”

Shouta chuckled, “A lot, I’d say. I wouldn’t be surprised if the kid was at your level. But if that were the case, why don’t his grades reflect it?”

Nedzu hummed, “Indeed. I’ll look into it as I search into Midoriya’s past schooling, though we might need to ask Bakugo.” He hung up, leaving the underground hero to walk the rest of the way in silence.

Shouta grinned even as he returned to the infirmary empty handed, but as he opened the door, his smile dropped.

Two men in suits were in the room, Vlad’s very own problem child, Monoma, between them and Izuku, who was shockingly awake. Hizashi, having been awake when he had left, was now out cold on the floor while Chiyo was in her office, banging on the door that had been barred with a chair under the knob.

As the two strangers turned around, Shouta hissed, recognizing one of them as the ex-hero Synthetic, whose quirk allowed him to create poisons, both liquids and gases, from his fingertips.

He slammed into Synthetic, knocking him into his partner and away from the two kids. His capture weapon arched out, wrapping around them as his quirk activated, stopping any quirk use.

“What the fuck are you doing to my kid?” he growled. He could hear his husband groan, waking up with the use of Erasure. Shouta sighed in relief before turning to the other blonde. “Monoma, please release Recovery Girl from her office.” He ordered, keeping his eyes on the two men. Once the healer was free, she bustled over to Izuku, checking him over.

“I’ve just let Nedzu know as you walked in. I sent him an emergency alarm so hopefully the police will be here soon.” She stated.

Turning his attention to the two men, he hissed out, “What were two Commission stooges doing in my student’s room? Especially without entrance clearance to be inside UA or the approval of his guardians? And for that matter, how did you both get inside without anyone seeing either of you?”

Synthetic flinched but kept quiet as the other one elbowed him. Shouta stalked closer, “Tell me now or I’ll start breaking bones and bashing heads.”

The stranger paled and opened his mouth, “The President sent us! We were just supposed to-” He was stopped as Synthetic’s hand shoved it’s way inside and Shouta growled as the man slumped to the ground, his eyes rolling and mouth foaming from whatever Synthetic had stuffed inside.

Chiyo hobbled over, kissing the partner’s forehead before shoving the point of her cane into Synthetic’s thigh, injecting what Shouta knew was a high concentration of quirk suppressants.

“He’ll be fine, Eraser.” Chiyo told him, “The other one, not so much once Nedzu gets ahold of him. Attempted murder is still a crime even if the Hero Commission President ordered it.”

Synthetic growled, struggling against the capture weapon. “What the hell did you inject me with, you old bitch?!”

Chiyo smirked, “Quirk suppressants. My own creation in fact. It has a secret surprise to it and is legal as I registered it under my hero license.” She giggled, “A mystery indeed.”

Shouta snorted, turning to address his husband, “You ok, Mic?”

The blonde groaned, “Yeah Eraser. Not sure what they hit me with but it was definitely a quirk.”

The raven haired hero frowned, “Go get seen by Recovery Girl then.” he ordered. Facing Synthetic again, Shouta tried once more. “So. How about you tell me why you were hovering over my son?” He ignored the small, nearly silent gasp from the green haired teen.

Synthetic opened his mouth, horrified at what tumbled out. “President Kionta ordered Ghost and I to infiltrate UA, find Izuku Midoriya and kill him however we could.” He slammed his mouth closed before screaming, “How did you make me talk?”

Chiyo laughed from where she was finishing up her check of the blonde. “That would be the surprise. Truth serum. It’ll last until the suppressant wears off but don’t worry, you won’t be asked to repeat what you just said. I’ve been recording everything since I injected you.”

Shouta smirked, “Good.” He jerked on the scarf. “So why does the Hero Commission President want my son dead?” He ignored the way the kid flinched at his words, telling himself that when the kid was safe he would comfort him.

Synthetic bit his lip, doing his best to not answer but the urge was too much. “She was supposed to have gotten him from his mother. Mrs. Midoriya was paid, handsomely mind you, for her son. Only she took the money, dipped to leave for America and didn’t hand him over at the drop point. By the time President Kionta found the brat, he was already at the school and wouldn’t be easily extracted.”

Izuku shuffled out of Monoma’s arms. “Why would President Kionta buy me? I’m quirkless.” Shouta sighed, answering first. “You aren’t, kiddo. When you passed out, Recovery Girl tested your blood. Your headache meds weren’t real and your mother was secretly dosing you with suppressants.”

He watched as the kid frowned before mumbling, “The codes. The ones I sometimes see randomly out of the corners of my eyes. I thought they were me seeing things, things that weren’t real. They’re my quirk?”

Shouta nodded, “Yes, the codes floating above everyone’s head. You…kiddo you died for a second but when you came back, your quirk properly showed itself.”

Izuku hissed, glancing at Chiyo almost as if he was asking for confirmation of his teacher’s words before a single tear rolled down his cheek.

“I’m sorry. I should have listened to Toshi and Denki. I should have said what was going on instead of trying to figure it out on my own.” Izuku whispered.. “I was just so scared that I’d have to leave UA and the friends - the family I've made here.”

Shouta snorted, “If you honestly thought that either I or Mic would ever let you go anywhere, you were sorely mistaken.” He grinned; not his soft one usually reserved for kids that were panicking or cats but the one that promised chaos and fun, thrilled when the kid grinned back.

Instead of commenting further, Shouta faced Synthetic. “Hey kid, are you up for a bit of quirk practice?” The kid giggled, getting Monoma’s help to inch closer to the edge of the bed.

“Just…imagine a wall. The wall that keeps you hidden from everyone. Imagine, not that the wall was gone, but start lowering the height brick by brick until you can see over it.”

Slowly, the ghostly green figures returned to float over everyone. Shouta nodded, noting that they weren’t as overwhelming in information as before. “Good, good. Now focus all that sight on this man.”

Just as intended, the toxic green information narrowed. It was slow but after 10 minutes they were all gone, only surfacing above Synthetic’s head. “You are a natural, Problem Child. Proud of you.” He offered, smiling proudly.

“Hmm. I wonder.” Izuku hummed, ignoring his blush that had formed after his teacher’s words. His eyes narrowed and Shouta knew that look. That was his quirk analysis look, the one that helped Kaminari stop overloading and allowed Shinso to change memories. That was the look that told Monoma to create rings with offered DNA and changed Shouta’s complete understanding of his own quirk.

The green began to swirl, circling Synthetic before settling at different points. Shouta hissed as the information revealed itself.

Green completely covered one knee; words floating directly beside it, telling the hero that the man had broken it exactly 3 years, 2 months, 4 days, 10 hours 22 minutes and well, the seconds were currently going up. It told of how it was broken - by who - and that wasn’t the only spot.

Countless glowing bones, fractures and muscles were highlighted by the kid’s quirk, each with the same information.

But above Synthetic’s head, words detailing the man’s entire personal information hovered. His name, age, height, weight, even his foot and ring sizes were displayed. All in perfect Japanese.

“I think I know what President Kionta wants with the green bean.” Hizashi whispered from his side, voice quiet and full of awe.

Shouta scoffed humored at his husband's words. "You think?" He sighed, smiling at the kid. "Good job, Problem Child. Now, Try to make it so that you can see the information but no one else can. Don't worry, I'll protect you from him while you concentrate."

The green-haired boy smiled, nodding slightly before his nose scrunched up, eyes tightly shut. "Bunny." Shouta whispered, his words heard only by his husband who was nodding along. The kid really did look and act like a little rabbit, all fluffy and cute one minute then kicking your lungs out of your chest the next. It was a wonder that none of the other demon brats ever said anything if they had even noticed in the first place.

It was slow, slower than the last time Izuku had tried to do something new with his quirk but eventually the green disappeared and the kid opened his eyes. Glancing around, Izuku nodded, "Did it work? I can still see them." Shouta smirked, "Perfectly done kid."

Shouta turned as the door opened, relaxing as he found Tsukauchi and a few other officers coming into the room. "Detective. Good. Synthetic here, while under Recovery Girl's medicinal control, admitted to attempted murder of a minor as well as performing attempted murder on the other man that is laying down on the floor over there. He also is trespassing without permission of any of the minor's guardians."

Detective Tsukauchi nodded, directing his men to cuff both Commission goons before having them led out. "Anything else?" He asked.

Shouta huffed, "HSPC President Kionta ordered them to kill Izuku Midoriya after she was unable to attain him through a black market sale with his mother who we've discovered has abandoned him, moved to America and has been drugging him with illegal quirk suppressants for his entire life." He leaned closer, watching as Monoma helped the kid to the bathroom. "He died from withdrawal and when we brought him back, his quirk literally burst out of him. Intelligence mixed with analytical."

The man nodded, "I see. I'll be sure to not allow anyone but myself and Sansa to see either of the men to both protect them from any Commission Killers or outside forces. Please let Nedzu know that I've also taken into custody one Toshinori Yagi though I do not believe I will be able to keep him very long seeing as all he did was quirk discrimination which is a firing offense only."

Shouta nodded, thanking his friend. "Oh," Tsukauchi stopped at the door, "Please let me know when Midoriya is able to speak with me. The sooner we start his mother's case, the sooner we can finish with Synthetic's and the Commission."

The room was silent other than the three adults breathing and relaxing in the various chairs. Shouta could hear Monoma and Izuku speaking lowly in the bathroom but he couldn't really make out what they were saying. After a few more minutes, the two teens came out, Monoma first, as he helped the greenette back to the bed.

"Alright, problem child?" Shouta asked.

Izuku nodded, "Yes. Just a bit weak in my legs." He waited until Monoma was done with his covers before speaking again. "That was really scary. I woke up and Neito was yelling at those guys as he stood between us."

Shouta huffed, "Speaking of which, Monoma, why did you come to the Infirmary? Are you hurt?" The blonde menace shook his head, "Hitoshi and Denki told me about Izuku's new quirk. I came here with the intention of offering up my quirk so you would be able to learn more about it. Izuku has always helped me with mine, I thought it would be good to return the favor."

He sneered, "Except I walked in to find Mic-Sensei unconscious, Recovery Girl locked in her office and two strange men hovering over my friend. I pushed my way past them and placed myself in between them and Izuku which is when he woke."

Shouta nodded, "Good job, Monoma. Go ahead and go back to class. Just let Vlad know that you were with me." The blonde nodded before glancing at Izuku who smiled, before leaving, closing the door on his way out.

"Sensei? What's going to happen to me?" Izuku asked.

Shouta moved to the side of the bed, ruffling green curls gently. "As of about an hour ago, you were placed under mine and Mic's care. Whether that is because you are being foster by UA with he and I as your guardians or due to Mic and I fostering you ourselves. Either way, you won't have to worry about anything ever again. We will protect you."

He snorted, "Also, we went by your locker. Your lock stumped even Nedzu who is now… shall we say, eager to pick at your brain."

Izuku giggled, "I figured he would. I am actually surprised that it took him this long to notice all my little changes." He bit his lips. "Hey sensei? How hard would it be to change my hero name?"

Shouta hummed, "You haven't really sent your name out there seeing as you didn't do an internship this year so it shouldn't be hard. What did you want to change it to?"

Izuku smirked. "The Encryption Hero: Zu."
