That's the only explanation for that circular callus in the center of his palm and the discoloration of the skin inside it. No one with easy access to funds would empty a pipe onto their palm to check for unburnt tobacco leaves that could be reused. If his wife's jewelry collection is missing then it's because he's trying to hide the fact he sold it."
