Chapter 1: Brunch with Kagami

Chapter Text

Perhaps he wasn’t as good at hiding his presence as he used to be. Judging by how easily Kagami spotted him from across the restaurant, Kuroko must be the most conspicuous person there. Kagami was grinning, pink-cheeked and pleased as he rushed over to the table, planting a quick kiss on Kuroko’s face before sitting down. He shook his head, and the last few snowflakes clinging to him scattered onto the table.

“You didn’t have to run here. I don’t mind waiting.” He’d been enjoying the book he brought with him and had arrived early to read in peace; it really wasn’t any trouble.

“Well, I don’t like keeping you waiting. It’s an important difference!” Kagami wasted no time getting their server’s attention and ordering for both of them, as he often did. Now seemed as good a time as ever to mention it - once their server was out of ear shot.

“You ordered me too much food, again.” It came out as clear and precise as he’d meant it, but Kagami flinched like he’d been sliced.

“What? It’s about as much as we always order here.”

“Actually it’s MORE than what we always order.”

“Yeah, well, we’re older now! And I’m playing college ball, too! Definitely requires a heck of a lot more fuel compared to high school.” Kagami’s bright eyes were darting a little too nervously to the side. He knew he’d been caught.

“But I'm not playing anymore, Kagami. I don’t need thousands and thousands of calories a day just for studying.”

“All that extra stuff is for me! You just eat what you want to, and I’ll eat the rest.” It sounded reasonable, of course. Kuroko just sighed. And the exhale reminded him of why he was bringing this up in the first place. He could feel his soft middle pressing insistently against the waist of his pants. He, Kagami, and Aomine had entered into their… romantic agreement… almost half a year ago. And what started as a funny coincidence became a recognizable pattern. Kuroko was gaining weight rapidly, and Kagami seemed to be completely in denial about it.

“You know I’ll end up eating almost as much as you do.”

“Is that… bad? Shouldn’t you eat if you’re hungry?”

“Of course. But eating so much beyond what I need, isn’t that unwise? Plus, I have my date with Aomine tonight. And you know he’ll be feeding me, too.” Kagami swallowed loudly.

“I - I still don’t see the problem.” Kagami was a horrible liar. It was sweet, and the temptation to indulge him was sometimes too strong to resist.

“Look a little closer, Kagami.” Kuroko sat up a bit straighter. Surely he could see how his sweater was pulled tight against his plump belly when he sat down. When he was standing up or walking around, he could get away with wearing this in public. But when seated, it did nothing to contain all the inches he’d been slowly gaining. He pressed his fingers into the soft knitted fabric, showing just how much of the round shape was his own body and not the sweater.

“Still don’t see anything wrong…” Kagami could play dumb like it was his full time profession, so Kuroko sighed and let it go for now.

The food arrived, and as expected, the server placed most of it in front of the muscular college athlete. Pancakes, french toast, loads of sausage, fruit parfaits, something called an “eggs benedict”, and plenty of hot cocoa with marshmallows. But as time passed, more and more plates made their way from Kagami’s side to Kuroko’s. And, of course, he ate them because they were in front of him. Despite the way his pants protested, he simply ate a little bit of everything until everything was gone. It didn’t feel very gluttonous to eat one small bite at a time. But that’s how Kuroko had gotten to this point. Just one bite at a time.

“Kuroko, your sweater…” Kagami’s mouth was half full of french toast, but Kuroko looked down and saw what he meant. The hollandaise sauce had dripped from his fork and onto his sweater, specifically, on his increasingly distended stomach.

“Ah, what a shame. If my belly weren’t so big, it would have just dripped onto the seat.” He didn’t hate his new and growing shape. His own body had never been particularly interesting to him. But he realized now that his boyfriends didn’t share the same neutral stance. Kuroko patted his belly affectionately, and Kagami turned quite red. It was a little fun to watch Kagami fumble over something so benign. He took a few more big bites and pushed the empty dishes away from him.

“See, Kagami? It happened again.”

“I told you just to eat what you wanted. You didn’t have to eat all that…” Of course he couldn’t blame his boyfriend for what he put into his own mouth. Kagami had logic on his side, for once.

“Does it bother you that I ate so much? Sometimes people change when they start dating.” Kuroko knew that at least his body had changed.

“Right, so there’s nothing wrong with it.” Kagami seemed rather pleased with his conclusion, so Kuroko pushed him a little.

“Nothing at all? Kagami, my clothes don’t fit.”

“A little relationship weight isn’t bad. Honestly, you’ve got TWO boyfriends, I’m surprised you aren’t bigger! And your clothes look… fine…” he trailed off because Kuroko had lifted up his sweater to show Kagami that the t-shirt he wore underneath had come untucked from his pants in the front, leaving his swollen middle uncovered. His navel looked a lot deeper when he was full like this.

“Fine? Hmm. So If I got too warm and took my sweater off, I could walk around like this?” His still slender fingers danced along his uncovered skin. It was warm and tight. “Nobody would notice, right?”

“I mean… maybe.” Kagami got up from his seat and sat on Kuroko’s side of the booth. His eyes were glued to Kuroko’s stomach as he reached down and ran his hands boldly under his t-shirt, pulling it out completely from his pants. It surprised Kuroko, to say the least. Kagami’s hands were huge and hot on his skin as he mapped all his new inches, committing them to his memory. “I’d definitely notice, at least.” Kuroko had to swallow before he could speak.

“Like I said…” He hastily pulled his sweater back down. “I’ve been eating too much.”

“And like I said: there’s nothing wrong with it.”

Kagami insisted on walking him to the train station and then back to his apartment. Of course Kuroko didn’t need him to do so, but neither of them wanted their date to end. Kagami was on him as soon as the door shut behind them. Shoving his hands under his sweater, sighing into his mouth as the layers between them disappeared. Kuroko had to protest the rough treatment of his stomach. He’d overeaten and could feel his belly cramp under all of Kagami’s rubbing and squeezing. But Kagami was reasonable and gentle when he was like this. His touch became more soothing, pacifying his hardworking stomach as it struggled to digest the massive amount of calories he’d indulged. Kuroko’s body was like an altar made for worship. Kagami lavished affection on every inch of him, showing greatest appreciation for his belly of course. He was like a man consumed, possessed with the need to be as close to him as possible. And with Kuroko’s growing body, that was getting more and more difficult. The huge meal was nestled between them, slowly digesting in Kuroko’s practiced stomach, forcing Kagami to adjust their angle as they kissed and moaned into each other’s mouths. And this wasn’t the end.

Kuroko still had another date today.
