Bets

Summary:

A crack fic inspired by this https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSPQVFGod/ video. The Z-team bet on whether or not Robert can dance. They get their answer when they go out. That's it. That's the fic.

Work Text:

Lots of things changed after the Z-team defeated The Red Ring. One thing that did not, however, was the bets the team made. One such bet was whether their dispatcher could dance or not. It was made jokingly the night of the housewarming party, before everything went to shit.

Watching the man dance his way between Blonde Blazer and Invisigal, Prism bet the man could dance whilst Flambae scoffed saying there was no way he actually had rhythm. Sonar, Malevola and Coupe had bet with Prism whilst the other's sided with Flambae.

This particular bet was settled on a Friday night. It had become an unspoken tradition, every Friday they'd go out as a team, it went a long way in strengthening the bonds between them. Robert was sitting quietly in the corner of the booth all night, sipping his drinks at a moderate pace.

They didn't think much of it when he rose to stand, assuming he was going to order another round or head to the bathroom. So it came as quite a surprise when instead he slurred, "This is my sooong" body swaying to the beat.

They snickered, they hadn't known the man was so far gone already but they weren't about to interrupt this scene. In the weeks that had followed Shroud's arrest, Robert had surprisingly opted to remain dispatching. Allowing his body time to heal.

This meant he finally started regaining the muscle mass he'd lost in his coma. Even Flambae had to admit he could no longer call the man 'flat ass'. Alice wasn't one to lose bets, so she shoved her phone that was recording at Flambae and hurried up, to dance with Robert.

As the song, 'No Hands', progressed, Prism pressed to the man's front, swinging her hips. To their collective shock, he kept up with her rhythm, settling his hands on her hips and rolling his hips in time with hers.

She too was shocked and after a while, she slipped from his grasp. He didn't seem to mind, to lost in the song to care. Instead he took advantage of the now freed space infront of him. Their jaws dropped when he hiked his pants up slightly and as the song sped up proceeded to bend forward and shake his hips from side to side.

He didn't seem to know or care about their reactions, straightening back up to make slow circles with his hips. Just when they thought they'd seen it all, he jumped down into a splits, shocking them once more.

Thankfully the song ended and Flambae was knocked out of his daze by Prism slapping his side. He turned to see her grinning at him expectantly and she waved her open palm in his face. Grumbling he forked over the cash. As Alice counted her winnings she sighed, "Damn who knew, Boberto had it in him".

Waterboy started mumbling something, his face red. "What was that bitch boy?", Flambae asked salty about losing the bet. In response, the man just pointed a shaky hand in the direction of the bar, looking ready to faint.

They followed his finger, eyes widening when they saw the figure of the dispatcher on the bar's counter. This bar had burglar proofing and the burnette held onto the bars as he gyrated to the new song playing. Surprisingly the bar owner didn't seem peeved, laughing loudly at the man's antics and turning up the music.

Prism grinned, this was peak blackmail material. They decided to leave the man be, he clearly needed to let loose after everything and if this was his relief then they wouldn't tease him.....To much alteast.
