Background:
You were a prisoner being held for experimentation in a lab on Punk Hazard due to your unique Devil Fruit. Your Devil Fruit affected anyone you touched or who touched you. They immediately felt an intense crush that developed into infatuation, and ultimately into obsession. Caesar Clown was working on replicating your devil fruit abilities for possible Pacifista applications. During the raid on Punk Hazard by the Straw Hat Pirates and Trafalgar Law, you were unwittingly released. One marine noted your escape and before you could take a step toward freedom, he took special care to apprehend you and embark on a “top secret” mission to take you to Marine HQ. A Celestial Dragon heard of your capture and demanded you be delivered to him as a slave. In the process of the transfer to the Celestial Dragon, Sabo fortuitously crossed paths with you and rescued you from Mary Geoise. Sabo was in the middle of a mission for the Revolutionary Army so he couldn’t keep you with him, and he needed to find someone powerful who would be able to protect you but not be affected by your abilities. One very unique person came to mind so Sabo found an ally ship bound for Wano that could discreetly transfer you to his brother Luffy.
The ally ship connected with the Straw Hat pirates just as they were leaving Wano, and completed your transfer and hand off to the captain. Sabo sent two letters to be delivered with you, one addressed to Luffy and one to Nico Robin. The letter to Luffy simply said “Protect Y/N, she is special to me. -S”. The letter to Robin detailed what little Sabo knew of your history and the fact that the Marines, World Government, and the Celestial Dragons were all in pursuit of you, and that odds were high that CP0 had agents hunting you. Sabo knew that Robin would be very empathetic to your troubled history and understand the stakes for keeping you safe.
