Summary:

A one shot based on the story Scientist Eclipse's Aventures by theallianceofcelestials.

If Eclipse and Solar were digimon sharing the same animatronic shell

Work Text:

Eclipsemon was piloting his and his twin’s animatronic body, double checking that their new gear was good after their last failed attempt to retrieve the last of Killcode’s family from SCP-13666. Parts of their plating had cracks from the last attempt, luckily hidden under their clothes. Once he is satisfied with the setup, Eclipse pulls on the harness and picks up the new tungsten rod and approaches the prison of SCP-13666.

The forcefield sizzles against their frame’s outer shell. He grunts softly but with determination, sticks the end of the rod into the barrier. It only takes a few minutes before he feels the weight change. With all his strength he starts to pull back on the rod, determined to win this deadly game of tug o war. But the anomaly seems to sense this and the pull gets stronger. He barely manages to brace himself from sliding into the barrier himself. More of his casing cracks as he pulls back, his team pulling on the rope behind him. But again he starts to hear that heart dropping sound of the rope beginning to frey. Suddenly he feels his twin, Solarmon, next to him in the pilot's seat. They growl, refusing to be beaten again by this anomaly.

Suddenly their back casing breaks wide open as both of their extra arms/wings break free, just as the rope snaps once more. They dig their claws into the ground around them, stopping them from being flung forward towards the prison. They could barely hear the grunts from their team falling backwards or the gasps in surprise in seeing the extra appendages. They continue to pull on the rod, slowly moving away from the prison.

As they pulled, more of their casing fell away and soon there were two sets of hands clutching the rod. Working together, Eclipsemon and Solarmon braced against the ground and pulled with all their might. The weight at the end of the rod jolts as they pull the last two of Killcode’s family free. They yelp as they fall backwards as two bodies fall on top of them. In front of them, the prison shudders and collapses in on itself, leaving nothing remaining of the stony prison.

They softly groan as they look up, a pair of concerned white and aggressive yet confused red optics. Eclipse and Solar soon pass out from the strain of pulling the last members free. A couple hours later, Eclipsemon was the first to wake up only to find himself and his twin trapped in blanket burritos. Confused, he looks around him to see Bloodmoon, Lunar and SolarFlare sleeping around them.

Over on their couch, their animatronic body laid in all its endo glory. Frowning, he struggles to get free from his burrito prison. His struggle woke his twin, he blinked at him sleepily before also taking in their situation. Leaning over, Solar grabs the edge of the blanket with his teeth and loosens it for Eclipse. Upon being freed, Eclipse also frees Solar and, being careful not to wake their “siblings”, gets out of the nest. Upon not seeing any of the “adults”, they quickly go over to their shared body and start to repair it, unaware of a set of glowing optics watching them from the darkness.
