Day 22: Loyalty | “I Won’t Share You”

Notes:

Gah sorry my writing has been so repetitive recently 🫩💔

Work Text:

Fie’s laugh lingered. The sound was soft. Leon could’ve lived off that sound forever. It filled the quiet space between their breaths, warm as the sunlight through their curtains. He’d heard Fie laugh a thousand times, but never like this, never while Fie was in his arms, his body melting against his like he belonged there.

“Do you ever get tired of staring at me?” Fie asked, smiling into Leon’s chest as he brushed a bit of hair from his face.

Leon’s grin came slow, a lazy thing that tugged at his lips before he even thought about it. “Never. I keep waiting for the day I might. Still hasn’t happened.”

Fie gave him that look—the one that said you’re ridiculous—but Leon saw the faint blush rising up his neck. Always pretending he didn’t know how much Leon adored him, when his heartbeat told the truth every time Leon pulled him close.

“Feels like you’re trying to hypnotize me,” Fie murmured, thumb grazing the edge of Leon’s collar. “Maybe you’re just proud of your collection.”

Leon’s brows lifted, amused. “Collection?”

“Of memories,” Fie said. “You hoard them.”

Leon laughed quietly, his hand slipping lower, tracing lazy circles against Fie’s thigh. “Guess that’s fair.”

And he did—hoard them, every single one. The little laughs, the quiet nights, the sleepy smiles. Every time Fie said his name like it meant something.

Fie’s voice softened. “You really mean it, don’t you? About never getting tired of me?”

Leon didn’t answer right away. He just tugged gently, guiding Fie fully into his lap until they were pressed chest to chest, his arms curling around him like he’d found gravity. “I don’t think I could if I tried,” he murmured, before leaning in and kissing him—once, twice, again just because he could.

Fie’s breath caught between kisses, a tiny noise escaping that made Leon smile against his mouth. Leon tilted his head and kissed the corner of his smile next, then the tip of his nose, then the soft skin just below his jaw.

“You do that a lot,” Fie mumbled through a grin, breathless already.

Leon grinned back, voice rough with affection. “Do what? Kiss you?”

“Make everything feel like a romantic movie.”

Leon brushed his lips over Fie’s cheek again, just to feel him smile. “That’s because it is,” he said simply. “Every second of it.”

Fie blinked, his eyes soft and glowing. He reached up and touched Leon’s face, tracing his bottom lip with his thumb before kissing him again—slower this time, like a thank-you.

“You know,” Fie whispered against his mouth, “most people would call you obsessed.”

Leon chuckled, his hands sliding up to cradle the back of Fie’s neck. He kissed him once more, murmuring against his lips, “Maybe I am. But it’s the good kind.”

Fie smiled, barely pulling away. “There’s a good kind of obsession?”

“Yeah,” Leon said, peppering kisses across his jawline. “The kind that doesn’t want to own someone. I don’t want to own you. I just want to love you.” He pressed another kiss to his temple. “The kind that feels like home.”

Fie closed his eyes, melting into the words and the warmth that came with them. Leon could feel the way he relaxed. How every bit of tension left his shoulders as Leon kept kissing him, slow and unhurried, like they had all the time in the world.

After a quiet stretch, Fie whispered, “You know, I used to think loyalty meant staying even when it hurt.”

Leon tilted his head, brushing his lips against Fie’s skin. “And now?”

“Anything you do, really.”

Leon smiled into the space between their breaths. He kissed Fie’s forehead, then his nose, then his mouth again.

“I used to think love like this was too much,” Fie murmured. “When I saw it on the tv.”

Leon rested his forehead against his, their lips still brushing. “It is,” he whispered back. “But it’s ours.”

Fie laughed quietly, his hand curling in Leon’s hair as he leaned in and kissed him again, deeper this time, until Leon’s breath hitched and his fingers dug gently into Fie’s waist.

“You’re ridiculous,” Fie breathed when they finally parted.

Leon smiled, kissing the words right off his lips. “I know.”

Fie pressed their foreheads together again, eyes soft. “But I love you anyway.”

Leon’s voice came out low, roughened by affection. “Good,” he murmured, kissing him once more. Then again, and again, until the world outside didn’t exist at all.
