It had been quite some time since she had done this, since she had slipped into the astral plane and searched for a fresh meal. It had been a while since she remained just out of human perception, watching and waiting for her prey to pass away.
The man’s body went limp as his last breath escaped him. The Damselette hardly waited a second before she seized his corpse and flew back to her cave, placing the body in the center of the moon’s light.
She let out a soft moan as her teeth sank into the man’s flesh, tearing into it as if she were some sort of animal. Mighty and powerful, her three pairs of wings spread out in a display of dominance.
It had been so long since she last fed. Blood that she hadn’t ingested found its way to her white gown a sickening crimson. Columbina hated when any part of her meal went to waste, but she paid no mind. All that mattered was the delicious taste of flesh, the feeling of pleasure that came from a full stomach.
She only paused to push her hair back to keep it from getting matted as she worked, tearing into the flesh and innards.
Finally, she was done. The seraph stood, wiping her mouth politely with her hand and looked at her stained gown. “It seems I will need a new one,” she murmured as she turned and walked over to her favorite place to rest, leaving nothing but skeletal remains behind.
