Hello!! I'm trying my hand at the Wenclairtober 2025 by @battcoven on Twitter

Work Text:

“And what is this?”

“Something I found in the woods, don't you like it?”

Wednesday turned to look at Enid, “It is… Acceptable, did Thing help you?”

“You think so lowly of me that you don't believe I'm capable of getting a skull cleaned up?”

A beat of silence.

“Fine, yes, Thing did help but just because I wanted it to be nice, I cleaned a lot of bones in the forest! But I was a werewolf so it was just for eating, you know. Most of the time they ended up broken.”

Enid watched Wednesday's eyes light up (if minimal) to the idea.

“Would you have preferred that? I can still do it.”

Wednesday turned her back to her, “I like this one well enough, you don't need to do all that to entertain me.”

Meaning, ‘Yes Enid, I would like to get a skull with your teeth imprints all over it.’

They had been stuck in a snow storm, Enid still a werewolf when Wednesday had confessed her childhood obsession with Werewolves. Even though she was stuck being an alpha, she still remembered what the goth had said.

In a cave huddled together to keep warm (Enid doing all the work as always), Wednesday whispered, “My parents always supported unhealthy interests, when I was 5 I was convinced I could make my grandmama turn me into a werewolf. I turned her room upside down trying to find a spell or a potion in one of her Grimoires to do so. When I could find nothing valuable, I went to the library. No book was left unread. I was disappointed to find that you had to be born a werewolf or bitten by one's mate to be able to turn into one. I wanted immediate solutions not to wait into adulthood to do so, but alas here we are. A werewolf in my pack and still not being able to turn.”

The implications were clear, but Enid could only cuddle up to her, unable to speak.

“At least you're a good heat source, I don't think I could have made it in these subzero conditions.”

Wednesday would never admit it, but she let herself relax for the first time since Enid had run off to the wilderness, “Will you keep guard while I sleep? Running around after you left me exhausted.”

The wolf growled sleepily behind her, “I retract my statement, good for nothing werewolf, one of us has to keep guard, we don't know what’s outside.”

Enid puffed. ‘I am an alpha, I am the only threat here.’ and even though Wednesday didn't hear the words going to the blonde's mind she was able to understand.

“If I die in this cave I will kill you myself, understand?”

Enid was already snoring, Thing burrowed in her fur, also exhausted by the chase. “Looks like it is up to me to keep us safe.” Wednesday was able to stay awake 5 more minutes after that, the warmth of the fire in front of her and Enid at her back was enough to lull her to sleep.

The days that followed Enid had noticed the special attention Wednesday gave the bones of the animals she hunted down for them. Unfortunately they hadn't been able to bring any of them back, after Enid turned back into a human, Wednesday only preoccupied herself on getting her to the meeting point where Uncle Fester would be waiting to get them back ‘home’ as the goth had said. She forgot everything else when Enid started shivering, exhausted and weak. Thermal clothes were not enough after she had tons of fur to keep her warm. All the bones were left behind much to Wednesday's disappointment.

But, Enid had noticed, so after they arrived at the Addams mansion, she had slept 3 consecutive days. She had gone to Mr. Addams,

“Call me Gomez, Enid, you're already family after saving my little cadaver so many times.” She asked if she could hunt in the forest around for some prey to bring Wednesday the bones.

“Of course you can querida, we are eternally indebted to you. Consider this your home to do as you please.”

Enid had blushed and practically run out of the room and into the forest after squeaking a ‘thank you’. She had thought Wednesday would want a polished finish to maybe put it on display in the family room, but she should have known her roommate would prefer it to be messed up.

“I will get you another one, maybe something bigger this time around, I loved how your grandma cooked the venison though.”

“If you bring a bear I could turn it into a rug, are you capable of that?”

Enid felt the fire of the challenge in her chest, “of course I can do it.” And she was off to the woods again.

Don't you think it is a little risky for her to be turning so much after what we went through?’

“I don't control Enid, Thing, if you have concerns, bring them to her, I'm not her handler.”

But Wednesday began to worry when Enid didn't come back for dinner.

“She is ok, my love.” Morticia had said when she went to kiss Wednesday goodnight. She had gotten overprotective after their near death experiences. “She will be back by breakfast.”

“Did you have a vision, mother?”

Morticia laughed at her daughter's impatience. “I don't want to spoil the surprise, you will have to wait and see.”

And what a surprise the next morning had been, her room was bloody when she woke up, a bear carcass by the foot of her bed and Enid by her side.

“Do you like it?” Enid had asked practically vibrating, hair and clothes in disarray.

Wednesday smiled seeing the pierced skull of the bear, it was noticeable that Enid had dragged the animal by the head to present it to her. “I love it.”

“Perfect.” The blonde purred in satisfaction, cuddling up to her. “Now change so we can start that rug making process, I want to learn.”

Wednesday didn't complain, watching Enid flourish before her eyes was something she will never get tired of doing.

-

“Don't you think it's lovely, Tish?”

“What, my love? The blood all over the broken front door, the disaster at the stairs or our daughter and her friend?”

“ALL OF IT, OF COURSE!!”

-

“I cannot believe now I have to experience 2 teenage couples in love, I'm not even safe in my own home.” Said Pugsley from the living room, his parents still admiring what wolf!Enid had done to the house while Wednesday and human!Enid were cleaning the bear in the garden.

Soon it will be your turn, don't despair.

“If I am ever like them, bury me alive.”

Thing convulsed in what only could be considered laughter.
