Chapter Text

William looked out over the Parkworld prairies, the sun is setting, radiating a red and orange over a beautiful scenery that would’ve almost been called romantic. He sighed, if it wasn’t for the eternal loop they found themselves it almost felt real.
Its been 3,5 months, 12 hours and 47 minutes since they’ve been trapped in here. He looked at the picture in his hands of his beloved would’ve-soon-to-be wife and had almost memorised every part of it, the slight eye wrinkle when she smiled, the way her dark long locks lay on her shoulders, she was a wildcard at times, but more in check than her twin brother. William couldn’t stand him at first, his boundless and radical behaviour, he always spoke his mind always trying to get under William's skin like a leech, ultimately for him to react or snap.
But after their little fight, Logan had calmed down a bit, he’d been more aware of his bad behaviour and had some newfound respect for his collegue. Maybe it was for the fact that they were the only two humans left in this world and leaned on each other to survive yet another day..
He didn’t know, but what he did know is that Logan and his fiance Julia looked alike in more ways than one. He knew that they both needed some kind of person in a steady and stable neutral kind of way that would keep them grounded in their moments of fire. In return eternal loyalty and trust would be returned.

William felt that there were days that it brought him comfort and somedays it brought him nothing but sadness. It reminded him of days long gone and a future full of uncertainties. Fear of the unknown, for a guy like him who’s always in control, it was one of his bigger fears. William took a sip of water, drowning down one of those darker thoughts that didn’t help him in anyway. The water tasted like leather. He sighed, maybe its time to move to another place, he thought, where they have actual glasses and fresher water. He will discuss it later with Logan, a change of scenery would do them both good, not constantly having the looming feeling that something is going down. Like a gunfight or a robbery.

William stood up from his rock, tucked away the watertrunk and went to his horse. His friend would be coming home to their hotelroom any minute now, he thought, almost fondly…
They’ve been growing close, the brunette couldn’t deny that. Logan;s morning rituals synced with his own, almost giving a sense of domestic normalcy. They’d always tell each other what their plan was for the day. What time they’ll be home, stuff like that.
He didn’t need to worry if he got in any kind of trouble, androids wouldn’t suddenly roast their harddrive and turn on humans, badly injure them or even kill them. It likely be the other way around, like it always has been. Though, Dolores had been exceptional, she didn’t show any signs that she’d become a danger to them in any way.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hours went by at the hotel, no sign of him yet. William gulped down a whisky at the bar and made his way to their room. Ignoring a beautiful hooker, he saved when they had just arrived in Parkworld. She often tried to seduce him, but William never even thought about saying yes. Without thinking of his ravencolored fiance.
He cleaned his face from dirt and sand, somehow it always found a way to stick to his skin. The only thing he couldn't get used too in this place.
After brushing his teeth and dressing down his gowns, William lay down the bed and tried to read an old novel, before sleep overtook him, finally.

The next day Logans bed was still unslept, he frowned at it. Something was telling him to better be safe than sorry and decided to pay Dolores a visit at her home. Time to search for his friend, the most likely outcome was that he’d be sleeping of a hangover in some strangers bed. Although, Logan hasn’t been very active with that lately. William didn’t know why, maybe he grew tired of hooking up with half the androids of this place and had gotten other interests?

He hugged Doloris, it was good to see her. Her smile has always been warm and welcoming. It often felt like she was the only genuine friend out here.
They rode together to the nearest place to look for their friend. After a day of looking around the town, asking other people, looking around in houses and disturbing private activities, even riding to the edge of the dessert, there was still no sign of Logan. William grew weary and was about to return home. Dolores, sweet and human as she can be, asked him to stay at her place for a bit and have diner. He couldn’t refuse that, but worry crawled around in the back of his mind. Hoping that everything was well with his friend and brother-to-be.
Soon the sun set again, colouring the scenery with bright pink colours this time. It made Doloris glow, she really was one with this place. But William hoped to bring her to the normal world when they finally escaped this eternal loop or whatever kept them stuck in this place.. they greeted each other and he road back home.
William flopped down the bed, it creaked under his weight. He sighed, thinking of his friend.
There was a while when Logan would just do his own thing, he’d arrive a week or a couple of days later if he was on a greater quest or just roaming around out of boredom. But that was in the past, they had agreed to tell each other these things beforehand. So, finding each other was easier. There was no way to keep in contact, the only way was by mail…
William annoyed by his own worry over this man, tried to distract himself by reading a book or writing some notes. He closed his eyes for a bit, he'd been more tired than he thought.

Suddenly a hard bang shook him awake, he opened his eyes almost falling of his bed. 'The fck!' Someone had opened his door, the strong sting of copper reached his nostrils. He couldn't see a thing, but he was sure someone or something had entered their room. He grabbed his gun and focussed it in the darkness.
'Don't u move, I got a gun!' He yelled. The figure loomed over him, before it said anything, it fell to the ground with a loud thud.
