Luffy’s New Body

Summary:

Luffy, after being sent to his room by Makino, tests out some of his newfound abilities.

Notes:

This is one short! I do have some bigger projects coming out soon, though

Work Text:

Luffy flops onto his bed with a pout.

Stupid Shanks.
Stupid Shanks and his stupid fruit that got him grounded.

How was he supposed to know it was so important? He was just hungry! Honestly, it Shanks’s fault for leaving food out around him.

The stupid fruit wasn’t even good! It tasted rotten and made his body feel all weird.

He huffs again, cursing Shanks. (Not Makino. Never Makino.)

He turns his head, only to see his stuffie on the floor.

Poor guy! Sorry I forgot about you..

Luffy reaches off his bad to grab it, stretching. Then, his body actually stretches.

He watches in awe as his arm expands, easily reaching his stuffie.

That’s right! That fruit was…

Luffy continues to stare in awe at his arm. Slowly, he stretches it farther, and farther. Up until it reaches the other side of his room.

There’s some tension, but it doesn’t hurt. It feels really weird, though.

Suddenly, his arms snaps back and sends him into the wall. He bangs his head on the wood, but, instead of hurting, his body molds with the wall and he bounces off.

It’s like he’s a rubber ball.

Luffy grins brightly.

That’s so awesome!

He swings his arm around, letting it stretch and wrap around him. It goes around and around, enough to make him dizzy.

He crashes to the floor—feeling nothing from the impact—wrapped up in his own arm.

Luffy laughs loudly and jumps up again. He swings his arm the other way until it snaps back into place.

Then, he moves his attention to his head. Can he do what he did earlier with it?

He grabs it and pulls. At first, there’s some resistance, but then he feels a release of pressure.

His neck stretches, so much that he can tilt his head down to fully see it. With it, he also stretches his arms again.

Up, up, up. Until he hits the ceiling.

His room is not that big, but Luffy still feels like he can see everything. For a second, he looses focus and all his limbs snap back to his body.

He yelps and hit the floor again, bouncing slightly.

The ticklish feeling has him laughing, even louder this time. He immediately wants to feel it again, so he climbs onto his bed and jumps off.

He spends the next however long just bouncing around his room. Climbing onto every piece of furniture he owns and jumping off, laughing all the way down.

Then, Makino yells, “Luffy! Stop jumping around up there!”

..maybe he’ll sneak off and test it more tomorrow.
