Chapter Text
You walk along the dilapidated walls of the abandoned house. The locals didn't have many stories of the place, only something about a VHS tape that was somewhere in here. You take a turn into a room with a broken door and there it was — sitting in the middle of the room untouched. As you walk up to the tape you saw that it had a piece of paper taped to it - "PLAY ME" it said. You look around, there aren't any TV's around to play the tape so you take it home.
Later that day you went to the attic of your house to find a vhs player, to your luck you do manage to find one stored away in a box. You plug it into a wall outlet and insert the tape...
"My name is Scarlet Mono," the woman on screen started. She looked strange in your honest opinion, she had fox ears and as she lifts her hand you can see she has paws as well, most likely other attributes that are hidden off camera too. "And if you are watching this then I am already dead for after I record this tape I will kill myself." The news shocked you, why would she kill herself? Though your question already answered itself through the recording.
"'Why?' You must be wondering? Well it's because I have been ridiculed my whole life, I ask kids at my school to be friends for example, only thing I get back: 'who would wanna be friends with a freak like you.' Hell I can't even go to college or get a job because of these STUPID EARS!" She yells not at the camera but at herself as she pulls at the fox ears on her head.
She calms herself down to keep talking, "I'm sorry for existing and well, I'm sorry to whoever is watching this and whoever has to endure my rant." She gives a sad smile before reaching toward the camera to turn it off.

I sigh as I turn off the camera and take out the vhs, I place the tape on my bed and leave the house ready to go through with my plan. I walk down the sidewalk, my paws silent against the concrete, it sucks there isn't shoes for feet like mine. When I pass by a park a small red child ran up to me, "Woah Miss you look so cool!"
He gazed up at me in admiration before his father walked up, a panicked look on his face, "C00lkidd you can't run off like that! I'm sorry about him miss." The burger hat wearing man apologized. I stare at him for a moment before answering, "No it alright I don't mind. But I should probably be going" I turn to leave before the man or his kid could say anymore, though I could hear him say something that I wasn't paying enough attention to fully register.
I soon arrive at my destination of the local drawbridge, it's not too tall but high enough for a quick and easy death. I climb over the railing and stand on the ledge feeling the wind in my hair before letting my grip slip from the metal bars, as I fall I think about that man and his kid. They were the only ones that ever treated me like an actual person, like an actual member of society. A small smile grows on my face as I close my eyes preparing for impact with the water below.
When I open my eyes next I see dim lights a cabin and surrounding me a few unfamiliar faces.
