Work Text:
UA University was forced to transition to a mandatory boarding school instead of the voluntary one it had been before the Kamino Ward incident.
Today was move in day for the students. Eighteen of the students who had been assigned to Eraserhead’s heroics course were already moved in and relaxing in the Common Area when the main entrance doors opened, revealing the missing two students: Izuku Midoriya and Ochako Uraraka.
“Yo! Midobro and Urabro are here!” Kirishima shouted, shooting up from his spot next to his pink friend.
“Urabro?” Ochako asked, looking vaguely insulted.
“He’s trying out new nicknames for everyone!” Kaminari declared, “It was my idea.”
“The idiot is too proud of his ‘idea’,” Jirou said.
“Ooh~,” said pink friend, Mina Ashido said, “now why are the two of you coming in at the same time~. And late too~” she winked.
“We had to clear a few things with President Nezu and Mr Aizawa.” Izuku said, grabbing Ochako’s hand gently, “Is everyone down here? We don’t want to have to explain this more than once.”
Seventeen students were downstairs, Katsuki Bakugou being the only one who wasn’t.
“Should I go get him?” Kirishima asked.
“No, this is something he already knows about.” Izuku answered before going out the front door and saying something to someone no one else could hear or see.
When Izuku came back, he was holding the hand of a child with green hair and pink cheeks.
“Everyone, this is Ochako and I’s daughter, Nana.” Izuku said.
Nana looked around at everyone before tugging on her father’s hand, “Daddy, where’s Uncle Kacchan? You said he’d be here and we could play Kill the Villain!”
Mina nearly died squealing.
“I think he’s already in bed, you know his bedtime is earlier than yours.” Izuku explained.
Nana nodded solemnly, then she laser focused on another student, “Uncle Tenny!” she shrieked before shaking herself out of her father’s grasp and running towards Tenya Iida, who scooped her up.
“Hello little Nana!” Tenya said loudly, “How have you been since I last saw you?”
Nana puffed up a little bit, “I can count now!”
“Very impressive!” Tenya said, tossing Nana in the air, where she stayed.
“Nana, don’t forget to release it before you float into the ceiling fan again!” Ochako called, coming back inside after going to grab a bag clearly meant for Nana, it had a bunch of patches of smaller versions of All Might, Miruko, Gang Orca, Gunhead, and Wash.
“Wait wait wait wait,” Mina said, her brain finally catching up with what’s happening, “You two have a kid?!”
Her question was followed by a chorus of “yeah”s.
“Yup.” Izuku said, keeping his eyes on Nana while she floated around the room.
“Since when?!” Mina asked.
“Since the last year of middle school." Ochako answered, “My parents moved to Musutafu for work in our second year of middle school and Izuku and I hit it off. During the uh-, Izu could you take Nana somewhere else, I don’t think she needs to hear how she was made.”
“Yes dear.” Izuku said, shooting a strand of Black Whip around his daughter’s waist and pulling her along like a balloon, “Hey Nana, wanna see where we’ll be living for a few years?”
“Yes please!” Nana said, finally letting go of her quirk and falling into her father’s arms. The father-daughter duo left through the nearby stairwell to go to their modified dorm room, which took up the whole second floor on the girl’s side of the dorms.
“Deets!” Hagakure shouted once Izuku and Nana were gone.
“Alright, alright.” Ochako said, sitting down on one of the couches, “So you know how in middle school they start teaching health classes coed instead of separately like in primary school? Well I moved to Musutafu not long before that and Izuku and I became fast friends, and when they started teaching that kind of stuff we got, well, curious. So one thing led to another and then boom, I was pregnant before third year started. Izuku and I took our third years online and our parents moved all five of us into a five bedroom rental home that my parents had built, and got a great deal on. Nana was born July 27th, halfway through our third year. We went back to High School, which I still have no idea how they could afford to send us to, and Inko convinced Bakugou’s parents to have him change schools after I finally managed to get Izuku to tell his mom what was going on at Aldera. Izuku and Bakugou had a very antagonistic relationship through our first year, especially when his Quirk finally came in a few weeks before our first year at Somei began, but they managed to become more amicable when he followed us to Nana’s daycare and she latched onto him. We met Tenya there and the three of us became friends and we introduced him to Nana halfway through our second year.”
The other students were listening closely, holding all the questions they wanted to ask.
“Then Inko got married to Toshi and Nana started speaking, we got into UA, and you all know the rest,” Ochako finished, “Any questions?”
“Like a million but they can wait.” Mina said, “So you and Midori are together, right?”
“Oh yeah, he proposed to me when I told him I was pregnant, we got married when we turned eighteen.”
“MARRIED?!” the gathered students erupted.
“Yup! Coming up on six months soon.” Ochako said, holding her hand up, showing the ring that Izuku had gotten her.
“MIDORIYAAAAAAAA” Mineta lamented, finally fully understanding that the third hottest chick in class was truly, and unequivocally taken.
“Wait, if you’re married, why isn’t your name Ochako Midoriya?” Ojiro asked.
“Oh it is, at least legally. But for school we thought it would be best if I went by my maiden name, at least until the dorms were made mandatory and we had to explain everything to Nezu and Aizawa.” Ochako explained, pulling out her ID, showing that her legal name is Ochako Midoriya.
“I have an unrelated question.” Momo said, “What exactly is your daughter’s Quirk.”
“Oh! She seems to have gotten all the benefits of mine and Inko’s quirks, but with none of the downsides. She can affect the gravitational pull on whatever she touches. Her limit right now is anything that weighs less than she does, but we think that with time, she’ll be able to lift up to fifteen tons or more.” Ochako said, “But she likes to make herself float around for fun more than anything else right now, but that’s to be expected of a four year old.”
“Any plans for more kids?” Mineta asked.
“Not until we have our full licenses, no.” Ochako said, “One more question, then I have to go help with the heavy stuff.”
“How did you come up with the name ‘Nana’?” Shoji asked.
“Easy,” Izuku said, coming through the door holding Nana, “It’s my grandmother’s name.”
