Of glass and night creatures

Summary:

If you start cutting glass, it’s inevitable that you will end up with a few cuts.

Yeosang knew this and, technically, San and Wooyoung too, but it didn't mean that they like the smell of Yeosang’s blood in the house.

Notes:

When I traslated "vitrales" it said it was stained glass, but I think that's the one you paint, not the one you cut. Either way, in this fic Yeosang is doing the stained glass that involve cutting glass and putting it together like a puzzle.

Also, originally this fic was going to be just SanSang, but then I saw This short and decided to add Wooyoung to the fic too xD

Hope you enjoy 💜

Work Text:

San smelled it before Yeosang could let out a curse.

Blood.

San ran from the sofa, where he was watching a drama, to Yeosang's studio.

The witch had developed a new interest in stained glass, trying different shapes and techniques to cut the glass every time he could, with various degrees of success.

Today was not a successful day.

When San opened the door, he saw Yeosang putting pressure on his fingers with a piece of cloth, more annoyance than actual pain in his eyes.

“Yeosang! Are you hurt?” San asked frantically. “I smell blood and…”

“San, I'm okay.” Yeosang said calmingly, cupping his face with the hand that wasn't covered. “I hold wrong side of the glass and cut myself. It's just a tiny cut.”

A low growl escaped San’s throat before he could help himself.

None of his mates should be hurt in their house, blood wasn't a scent San liked on his den (unless it was from Wooyoung's blood bags when he was feeding).

“Show me.” San said, using his best puppy eyes to convince Yeosang.

The witch let out a tired sigh, knowing there was no way San was going to drop the topic, and took off the cloth from his fingers.

It wasn't a big cut, maybe about 2 centimeters long, located right next to the nail of his index finger.

Some blood started to slip through the cut again, making San whine.

“It's okay,” Yeosang said again, “I'll just grab a band aid and keep on working.”

The next growl that escaped San’s lips was completely intentional. He wasn't going to leave his mate again with what had hurt him, less than a minute ago.

“No,” San said, pulling Yeosang into his embrace, “no more glass cutting for today.”

“Sannie, I still have to finish this work.” Yeosang moved to free himself from San, but the werewolf didn't let go. “San, is just 4 more pieces.”

“You're still bleeding.”

“It's not…”

A loud kick on the front door interrupted whatever Yeosang was going to say, quickly followed by a voice they both knew very well.

“Sannie! I smell blood! Yeosang got hurt!” Wooyoung screamed, quickly running towards the witch’s studio.

Yeosang let out a defeated sigh. He wanted to finish the glass he was working on before Wooyoung arrived, so he could work in peace.

The witch could sometimes fool San into thinking the metallic smell was the welding he used to put together the pieces, but he could never trick a vampire when it came to blood.

Wooyoung appeared a second later in the door of the studio, scanning the place until his eyes landed on Yeosang's hand, and the glass piece that was slightly red.

The vampire’s fangs showed briefly when he hiss, looking at the cut.

“He's saying he'll continue with his work.” San said, hugging Yeosang even tighter.

“I'm fine,” Yeosang insisted, “I just need…”

“Let me see the cut,” Wooyoung extended his hand to take Yeosang's, “I want to check if there's any splinter left.”

Yeosang resigned to his fate, and gave his hand to Wooyoung.

The vampire looked at the wound, and placed a gentle kiss over his finger. The cut started to heal, leaving a faint scar on Yeosang's hand.

“See? I'm fine.” Yeosang showed his hand to San. “It wouldn't have healed if there were splinters of something similar.”

San looked at his hand, which was covered by several faint scars from other Yeosang's artistic projects, and let out a relieved sigh.

His mate was going to be fine.

“Yeosang, when was the last time you drank water?” Wooyoung asked, raising an eyebrow.

The witch tensed under San's embrace, and turned to look anywhere but Wooyoung's eyes.

“Yeosang?” San asked, tilting his head.

“I was planning to drink some soon….?” Yeosang muttered, his face revealing he had completely forgotten about that.

San hugged him tighter once again, and dragged him out of the studio, Wooyoung following a couple steps behind.

“That's why your blood tastes so awful.” Wooyoung said, grimacing. “You also need some meat!”

His mates wanted food. That was the last thing San needed to let his instincts take control.

He could feel his ears and tail appearing, his eyes probably turned yellow, as he pushed his mates towards the kitchen counter as he started looking through the fridge to make some food.

San might not be an expert in the kitchen as Wooyoung was, but he could cook a couple of pieces of meat.

Wooyoung took one of the salves they had in the kitchen shelves, and started applying it to Yeosang's hand. Even if the wound had been close thanks to the vampire’s magic, he still wanted to make sure it was clean.

Yeosang let them take care of him and, despite his exasperated sighs, he enjoyed the attention.

Soon enough, San put 3 plates full of meat on the counter and pushed them towards his mates.

“Thanks, Sannie.” Yeosang said with a smile, as he started to eat.

They ate in a comfortable silence. San devoured his portion, Wooyoung drained his before taking a bite and Yeosang ate it with a small smile on his face.

Yeosang wasn't able to finish the glass he was working on that night, San and Wooyoung dragged him to the bed after they were done with the food and cuddled him to “help him heal faster.”

And, despite being a very bad excuse, Yeosang decided to give them the reason, that way he could spend another night surrounded by his vampire and his werewolf.
