Bangkok, again.
Only the two of them this time, as it has been for years. Kylie and Yeong - the inseparable pair.
It would’ve been nice though, Yeong thinks, to see his face again, flashing somewhere in the crowd.
Maybe they'd lock eyes for a moment on a street crossing, take a step forward, then turn back – at the same time, obviously.
'Gyu Ho!?’ he would ask, casually, as if the name wasn’t echoing through his head for the last five years.
‘Tabby?’ Gyu Ho would blink his beautiful, stupid eyes at him.
And then they'd walk to some nearby cafe and through pained laughter talk awkwardly for hours, swallowing tears between smiles and Yeong would never let him walk away again, never, ever...
This is what Yeong thinks about as he lays fucked out on a motel bed and stares at the ceiling fan, when his back slid over scabbed wall behind the club on a Friday night, as his knees hit the sticky floor of the men’s bathroom – there should be imprints in the tiles by now, like in a pew...
But mostly when he’s in Thailand during monsoon season.
He lays in the rain, and lets himself dream...
