Work Text:

"Take care of the specialists, Darcy. You have five minutes," said Icy, flying on with Stormy.

They would get the Red Fountain Codex for Lord Darkar today, and they would win. As always since their defeat in the Battle of Magix. Now, thanks to Darkar's power-up, they were even better positioned than before.

"Sky, what's going on?" Bloom flew over with Tecna and Flora.

Sky didn't even look at her, but faced Darcy with his sword drawn. "Go after Icy and Stormy, they must not get to the Codex!"

"The what ?" Bloom asked, confused.

"No time for questions, or you won't catch them," Sky replied curtly.

The Winx turned to Darcy, who was hovering directly in front of the corridor into which her sisters had just disappeared.

"Out of the way, Darcy!" Tecna shouted angrily.

With a casual movement and an inviting wave of her hand toward the corridor, Darcy floated aside, clearing the way.

Bloom frowned, but she and her friends sped past Darcy.

"Ah, ah, ah—not you," Darcy floated back and, smiling faintly, stood in the way of the specialists who were about to charge after the fairies.

There were the usual three: Sky, Riven, and Timmy, as well as a handful of young men from other units. Darcy knew them by sight, from her many stays at Red Fountain the previous year. But only one of them mattered.

She fixed her golden eyes on Riven. A sphere of energy manifested in her hand. He took a fighting stance, his purple saber drawn. Just before she fired, Darcy changed direction and hurled her black magic at the left flank. They fell like bowling pins. It was a brain-numbing spell. Not fatal, at least not if help arrived quickly. Which was unlikely. So, eight dead.

"What the—" Timmy managed to blurt out. "They're much stronger than they used to be!"

Darcy tilted her head. "Good spot, Nerdy Boy. So who's going to die next? You?"

"Don't listen to what she says," Sky yelled, getting back into position. "Right flank, attack!"

With a bored wave of her hand, Darcy wiped away the charging specialists. There was the sound of bones cracking and breaking. Muffled screams from those who could still scream. Four dead, four injured. That made a total of twelve dead. Only Timmy, Sky, and Riven remained.

"So what do I do with you?" Darcy crooned, a maniacal smile on her face.

A bang sounded further back from the corridor Darcy was guarding.

Someone screamed in pain. Another voice shouted: "No, Floraaaaaaa!"

The specialists flinched. "My sisters seem to be having fun with your little fairies," Darcy laughed gleefully.

Sky and Timmy exchanged panicked glances.

"Go," Riven said tightly, his eyes fixed on Darcy. "I'll take care of her."

"Are you sure—"

"Go!" Riven cut Sky off.

Timmy prepared to sprint and placed a hand on Sky's shoulder. "He'll do the right thing. So let's go, the girls need us."

"More than you think," Darcy commented, a knowing look in her eyes. "You'll be lucky if all three of them are still alive when you get to them."

Sky and Timmy dashed toward the corridor.

"Now, now. Who says I'm letting you go?" But before Darcy could launch an attack, something whirred through the air and grazed her arm.

Blood seeped from a wound on her upper arm. Riven had taken Sky's boomerang and attacked her from behind. Sky and Timmy seized their opportunity and dashed past Darcy.

"That wasn't fair," she pouted, eyeing the cut.

"This is hardly a fair fight," Riven countered.

"You want a fair fight; why didn’t you say so?" She sank to the ground.

"A fight with you is never fair." Riven didn't take his eyes off her. He was tense.

She grinned. "Oh, is it not?"

"No." His voice was firm, but she could see something flaring in his eyes. There was no hatred. Not as she had expected. After all this time, there was still... what? Affection? Her heart skipped a beat.

Well, if that's the case, thought Darcy, then let's play a bit.

"Hmm..." she answered him. "I guess you're right."

With a snap of her fingers, she levitated Riven's weapon toward him.

Riven backed away until he hit the nearest wall.

"It's a shame when one's own weapon betrays one, eh?" Darcy purred, twirling the weapon in circles with her fingertip.

"The only one who betrayed me is you," he spat at her.

Darcy's eyes narrowed. "That's a matter of interpretation, I suppose."

"Give me my weapon and we'll settle this once and for all."

"You don't need this sword," she said sweetly.

"It's a saber, not a sword."

"I know," she admitted, "but the pun doesn't work with a saber."

"What pun?"

Darcy approached Riven, who was still pressed against the wall, the tip of the saber millimeters from his throat, with a deliberate casualness. She deliberately swayed her hips a little more than the occasion warranted. She studied the expression in his eyes. He knew that hip swing, and he knew where it led.

"The implication when I say you don't need this sword right now, but another one ."

His eyes widened, but not in horror. She stopped in front of him, his hands clenched into fists, but there was a flame in his eyes. It was still not hatred. It was desire. She knew that look all too well.

"Let me go, Darce," he said tightly.

Again, Darcy tilted her head, ran a finger over the bloody wound on her arm, then placed it to her lips and wiped the blood over them.

"You wounded me," she breathed, "and you must be punished." With a nod, she lowered the saber. It clattered to the ground. Riven remained where he was, his eyes still fixated on her face.

He didn’t move.

“Now,” Darcy muttered, inches from his face, “are you going to do the right thing, like Nerdy Boy said?”

"Go on, Darce, punish me then." The smug grin returned to his face. The grin that made her weak.

"Asshole," she whispered.

Slowly, almost hesitantly, she approached him until their faces were almost touching, and brushed her bloody lips against his. When she tried to step back, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer again.

"That wasn't a punishment, Darcy," he whispered hoarsely. "That wasn't even a threat."

"I haven't even really started yet." With her free hand, she stroked his thigh, lingering for a while at the top—he sucked in a sharp breath—and then moved further up. She only stopped when she could feel his racing heart.

"Excited?" she whispered.

"What makes you think that?"

Darcy smiled, flashed her teeth, then darted forward. Their lips met again. This time they didn't just brush over each other, they flowed into each other. A kiss that promised more. Riven kissed her back. Fervently.

Good , she thought. He was exactly where she wanted him. However, she wasn't sure what exactly she should do with him now. Riven interrupted her thoughts by biting her lip.

Darcy gasped, stepping back slightly. "Riven!" she hissed angrily.

"Not so timid, Princess." Still grasping her wrist, he brought it to his lips, leaving a bloody imprint with his mouth.

With her free hand, Darcy touched her lips and eyed the blood that clung to them.

"Idiot," she muttered, jerking her hand away. Who was punishing whom?

"Upset, Darcy?"

The answer was yes. But would she tell him that? Certainly not. And he knew it anyway. He'd always seen through her. Again, again, and again. No matter how well she closed herself off from the world, no matter how much she played the cool bitch, to Riven she was an open book.

"Just you wait," she hissed angrily. They approached each other again. Simultaneously, quickly, and violently. This time, Darcy bit Riven's lower lip, which elicited an angry growl from him. But neither of them backed away. She kissed him. He kissed her back. She didn't want it to end. Slowly, she let her hands wander to the back of his neck. They stood like that for a while. All around them, only silence, the occasional wheeze from one of the specialists who had survived Darcy's attack, and the occasional sound of battle reached them. But they paid no attention.

They separated to catch their breath.

"Better?" asked Darcy.

"Not enough yet." Riven grasped her hips, pulling her closer, and their lips met again. This kiss was more intense, hungrier.

Darcy could feel herself surrendering to Riven's kiss. Her lips ached, but it didn't matter. She'd missed this so much. It hadn't been planned at all; she'd just wanted to tease him a little. Anyway, it didn't matter. She could feel her damned heartbeat joining his. Wild and uncontrollable, as if nothing in the world could slow it down.

They separated again to catch their breath. Riven didn't let go. "Scared, Darcy?"

"As if," she breathed back through swollen lips, pressing them against his again. Her fingers slid upward, running through his hair. She could feel his smile.

She pressed closer to him, he pulled her against him so tightly that she could feel his accelerating heartbeat even more intensely. Her pulse was no less excited, pounding against her ribs like it hadn't in ages.

Riven opened his mouth, letting his tongue brush against her lips demandingly. Darcy's heart skipped a beat.

A voice inside her cried angrily, " Don't do this ." But the other was louder. The voice whispering to her, " Do it. Do it, damn it ." She wanted it. It had been a long time since she'd wanted something like this. So she parted her lips slightly, and his tongue found its way inside. When he tasted the blood on her lips, it sent him into a frenzy. He kissed her like there was no tomorrow, and she let him.

Their tongues met, playing with each other, stifling their sighs. Riven's hands traveled up her back, then back down, never letting go. It drove a shiver down her spine. Darcy's hands were clutching his neck. Her fingernails were surely leaving their mark. Nothing mattered anymore, except this moment.

He pressed himself closer to her. Darcy felt him pulsing between her legs. Or was it she who was pulsing?

"Damn," she murmured between kisses.

"You started it." Riven now moved his mouth down her neck until she sighed loudly. "Now face the consequences."

Darcy didn't need an invitation; she wrapped herself around him tighter, more intimately. Their aroused bodies separated only by the fabric of their clothes, which was slowly becoming unbearable. Her hands moved down his body to his hips, encircling him. Playful, promising, which now elicited a moan from Riven.

"You too will accept the consequences," Darcy purred in his ear, her hands squeezing lightly.

Her fingers played with him, slowly, terribly slowly. Riven tilted his head back, biting his clenched fist to keep from moaning.

Darcy enjoyed this game very much. She had him.

"Darcy," he gasped, "you're killing me."

"I haven't even started," she cooed softly.

She pulled Riven's fist away from his face with her free hand, fixing it with her amber gaze. She loved the lust she saw blazing in his violet eyes. Part of her had feared he'd never look at her like that again, that he'd hate her... but even if he hated her, he couldn't fight the desire. She couldn’t either. Neither of them.

"Kiss me," she breathed, and he lowered his head, their lips meeting. Once again, their tongues entwined in a lustful dance. Darcy ran her other hand over his tip.

"You're playing dirty."

"Sure," she admitted unfazed.

They took a short breath, then kissed again, and once again Riven wrapped his hands around Darcy's hips. But this time his hands moved further back. Darcy's heart stopped as Riven squeezed her ass with both hands. Instinctively, she pressed herself closer to him, feeling the heat between their bodies pulsate ever more intensely. Her hands wandered back to his neck. Between kisses, Riven whispered, "Good girl," as she pressed her hips against his. So close she could feel him completely.

Seemingly with ease, Riven lifted Darcy up and slowly lowered her again. His length pressed against her crotch.

"God..." she gasped.

"At your service," but his voice was rough, brittle; he was as much in ecstasy as she was.

Darcy felt an impatient tug in her lower abdomen. If this continued, she would lose control. She felt her little punishment of Riven turning against her. "Riven, stop," she gasped. Even though she didn’t want him to stop. And he didn't stop. Now it was her turn to suppress a moan. She pressed her hands over her mouth. The friction was driving her mad. And this madness had to go somewhere.

Her swollen lips ached, but she couldn't stop kissing Riven. Feverishly, she mapped out the quickest route to his room in her head. Hopeless; it was too far away. And they would find them sooner or later. Damn it.

Then she felt his hands slide between them and cup her breasts.

"What the—" she gasped.

"Very good," Riven ran his mouth down her neck again. "You finally stopped thinking."

It was true, he was no longer lifting and lowering her against him. She was doing it on her own. Intensely and wantonly. As his fingers moved down her cleavage and cupped her breasts beneath the fabric again, she tilted her head back. It came automatically. She gritted her teeth to keep from making a sound, from whimpering, as his thumbs stroked her nipples in circular motions.

“Damn it, Riven.” She was going crazy.

“You started it,” teased Riven.

“Fuck you.”

“Is that a threat or a to-do list?”

“What do you think?” She licked his lips and tasted iron. They sank into a kiss again, his hands wrapped around her breasts, their hips pressed together, moving up and down in time. Even though he wasn't inside her, Darcy was close to an orgasm. From time to time, Riven moaned in the kiss, Darcy felt his breath and closed her eyes. He was just as close as she was... and then Darcy felt it: the cold.

She felt the cold approaching. Desperately, she pressed herself against Riven, not wanting to let this moment go. Embraced tightly, they indulged in their little game until Riven, too, felt the cold.

The temperature dropped suddenly, and then they heard Icy's voice: "Darcy, stop fucking and get over here. We have the Codex."

Reluctantly, the two separated. She looked at Riven's face. His lips were swollen from so many kisses, still slightly bloody from her bite.

Shit, this shouldn't end like this. So… unfinished.

"Darcyyyyyy," Stormy trilled from the other end of the corridor.

Riven pulled her closer again, brushing her lips with one last kiss. "Quick, get out of here before the others arrive."

She grinned weakly, her chest still rising and falling far too quickly. "We'll finish this another time."

They heard footsteps and fairy wings from the next corridor. They looked at each other in alarm.

"Make it look like an accident," he whispered in her ear.

Darcy understood. "I'm sorry," she murmured.

Whether she was sorry they couldn't finish what they were doing or because she was now completely knocking him out, Riven would never know.

He felt a searing pain in his face, as if a predator had used it as a scratching post. Then there was only a dull roar. Darcy's face disappeared, and there was darkness.

“Sooooo,” Stormy eyed her full off glee. “What was that little fuck about?”

Darcy rolled her eyes. They'd be teasing her about this for a long time. When Icy started making nasty remarks, she stopped listening. Instead, she hoped Riven would soon recover from the wounds she'd inflicted.

At least that way the others will think that Riven did the right thing and fought me , thought Darcy. Well, he did, in his own way. As was I. But it was a draw.

She sighed longingly.

Notes:

My first Winx smut. I hope you liked it. Let's face it, these two shoud FUCK. Maybe I'll write that in the future, we'll see. Oh, and I love how Darcy killed all those background specialists, slaaaay queen.
