---Quiet Realization

Ichimonji sat quietly at the kitchen table, the morning sun spilling softly across the worn wood. His hands trembled slightly as he held the small test in his palm—two faint lines, impossible to miss.

His breath caught.

He wasn’t alone.

Hongo’s footsteps echoed from the bedroom, light but purposeful. Ichimonji looked up, eyes wide.

“Hongo,” he said, voice barely a whisper.

Hongo appeared in the doorway, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. His gaze fell to the test in Ichimonji’s hand.

“Is that…?”

Ichimonji nodded slowly, a small, nervous smile breaking through. “We’re going to have a child.”

---

Shared Fears and Hopes

The news settled over them both, a mixture of joy and uncertainty.

“I don’t know if I’m ready,” Ichimonji confessed that evening, sitting close to Hongo on the couch. “For everything.”

Hongo wrapped an arm around him, pulling him close. “Neither am I. But we have each other. We’ll figure it out. Together.”

They spent the next weeks sharing quiet conversations, preparing for the changes to come. Hongo took to researching everything—books on pregnancy, parenting, even nursery decorations.

Ichimonji found comfort in Hongo’s steady presence, the way he never let the worry overwhelm him.

---
The First Movement

One night, as rain pattered softly against the window, Ichimonji lay curled up on the couch, his hand resting lightly on his belly.

Suddenly—a flutter. Then another.

Ichimonji gasped, eyes wide with wonder.

“Hongo,” he called softly.

Hongo sat beside him, placing his hand gently over Ichimonji’s. Together, they felt the small kicks.

“It’s really happening,” Hongo said, voice thick with emotion.

Ichimonji nodded, tears glistening. “A new life… our life.”

---
I Names and Dreams

They talked often about the future—the child they would bring into the world.

Hongo wanted a name meaning strength and honor. Ichimonji preferred something gentle and bright.

After many discussions, they chose **Sora**, meaning “sky,” symbolizing limitless possibilities and hope.

“We want Sora to know they can be anything,” Ichimonji said one night, tracing letters on the nursery wall.

Hongo smiled, pressing a kiss to Ichimonji’s forehead. “And we’ll be there to guide them.”

---

The Birth

The day Sora was born, Ichimonji and Hongo held each other tightly through the storm of emotions.

When the tiny cries filled the room, relief washed over them in waves.

Ichimonji cradled Sora, feeling the perfect weight of new life in his arms.

Hongo stood beside them, eyes shining. “We did it.”

Ichimonji smiled through tears. “We did.”
