True Fate

Summary:

Cobra has thought that he was supposed to have died for years at this point. His wife came back and saved him from Li; he felt like he should have died to save Smokey, and the very first time he thought he should have died. He was sure Sannoh and SWORD would still be the same, if not better, without him. And that feeling has been growing stronger and stronger ever since the threats have been growing larger. And now that Hyuga knows the secret that happened to another version of him in a timeline that is in his head, what can the Lovers of SWORD do for him to show him that he is the reason SWORD is what it is?

We own nothing but the idea and any original characters in this story.

Chapter Text

Chika sighed as she sat in a hot tub in a spa. She was with the rest of the women of SWORD. The men chipped in and got them this spa day. And she was enjoying it...until she heard a ping and looked at her phone and groaned. “Is it from Hyuga?” Mao sighed. She was sitting next to Fuuka. Naomi, Sarah, the Junkos, Kili, and Lala are in conversation amongst themselves.

“Yup. Guess who is on the outside of Daruma territory again?” Chika sighed as she texted him that she would call him.

“Our not-so-subtle man?” Fuuka asked with a weary smile.

“Right in one.”

“Why doesn’t Hyuga just talk to him directly?” Kili asked.

“Because he wants to drive ME to kill him this time,” Chika said with a sad smile hitting the speed dial for her husband. “Baka Gang Leader-san. Where, pray tell, are you?” she asked as a way of a greeting.

“...Just riding around.” His voice was subdued on the other end.

“Oh anywhere nice? Did you visit the grave that belongs to you? Or is the annoyed text I got from Hyuga about you just...sitting at the entrance to the underground casino a bit more accurate than what you want it to be?”

“I’m not in the territory!” Cobra blurted out in panic.

“Yes, I know. I know! But you have to let him come to grips with it. He just found out that a man he trusted killed him because he was being used. It is a lot to take in on the best days when you EXPECT things like this. And Hyuga is never on his ‘best day’.” She sighed.

“Could you...go for a drive? I don’t care where, just away from there for a while. Go to the beach with Papa and Uncle Noboru. I get that might bring back memories of how he lost Miho...but you NEED to get out of that headspace. For us.”

“Maybe. Enjoy your day.” The phone clicked in her ear.

She sighed as her women surrounded her. “Went about as well as the last 20 times you talked to him?” Fuuka asked, leaning her head on her woman’s shoulder. Chika reached up and caressed her cheek.

“Yup. Why do we love him so much?”

“He is the leader this place needed. He is kind and loving. He just needs to get it through his head.” Mao smiled at Chika.

“Yeah. But getting that through his head is like trying to break the Great Wall of China with a little hammer. Given time you might make an impression but it won’t happen fast enough for it to sink in.” Chika sighed.

“Papa is the same way,” Naomi said with a smile. “What works best for him is food.”

“Yeah. And my husband loves booze...but his liver would never forgive me for the amount of booze it would take to get him through this.” Chika looked at Kili who was rubbing her belly.

“No?” Chika smiled wider. “Really?”

“Found out last week.” Kili blushed.

“How does that work? You’re...dead.” Mao said, smiling as all the women hugged her.

“Well, yes my heart isn’t beating. But I’m not... DEAD dead. It is a virus that spreads by the bite. I feed on them then make them feed on me. All the functions still work. So...I’m fertile. Just harder to tell when is my...fertile period seeing as I don’t have a traditional period like a normal woman. I thought I was being so careful with Kiba though...then the signs started to appear.”

“Morning sickness?” Lala asked.

“Not her.” one of the Junkos said.

“Kiba is connected to me thanks to this little thing growing inside me. So he is presenting more...animal behaviors, is the nice way to put it.” Kili said with a nervous smile.

“Please tell me what you are talking about is in the bed.” Chika sighed.

“Nope.” the other Junko said, nodding at Chika’s assumption. “He likes his meat rare right now...and might enjoy having those wolf fangs a bit more than normal.”

“Welcome to your man is a handful club...” Chika smiled at Kili. Then she thought about it for a second and hit the speed dial for Joe.

“Mom?” he asked as he answered.

“Grab Little Wolf and head to your father. He might need something to distract him from his desire to be forgiven by Uncle Hyuga. And your brother might just have the answer we are looking for. Just put them both on leashes if you have to.” she smirked.

“You are a cruel cruel woman, Mom.”

“Love you too baby. Have fun.” The ladies giggled as they went back to trying to enjoy the day.

Kiba and Joe rode up on Cobra sitting at the entrance to the underground casino. He rode around the block and then went back to sitting right there waiting for Hyuga. “Mom sent us,” Joe said, sighing as he sat next to his father.

“Figures. Go home.”

Kiba began to growl like an animal. “She sent us to look after you,” he growled like a rabid dog. “Be grateful I am here at all. I need to sink my fangs into something.” he snapped.

“...As you can see my little brother has been replaced with the Wolf of SWORD.” Joe sighed.

“Feed him some kibble and leave me alone. Do I look like a child who needs supervision?” Cobra snapped over his shoulder.

“No...but he does,” Joe whispered into his father’s ear. “Congratulations...Kili is preggo. This is why he is acting like this. Vampire mumbo jumbo causing this. Mom wants to give YOU something to do. And helping with your son who is experiencing vampire birth pains or whatever was her chosen tactic. She could have put you on diaper duty again.”

“Not interested. Let your mom give him prenatal classes. I’m busy.” With that, he revved the bike and was gone.

With a low growl Kiba and Joe followed after their father. “C’MON DAD! WE BOTH KNOW YOU SITTING OUTSIDE HIS PLACE WON’T MAKE UNCLE HYUGA FORGIVE YOU SOONER!” Joe yelled to his father over the sounds of their bikes as they drove.

“SITTING AROUND TRYING TO FORCE IT IS ONLY GOING TO MAKE HIM WANT TO PUNCH YOUR TEETH DOWN YOUR THROAT!” Joe yelled.

He saw his father’s jaw clenching. He knew that Cobra knew he was right. “I GET THAT THIS IS HARD FOR YOU! YOU KILLED HIM AND THAT WASN’T LIKE THAT BASTARD THAT KIDNAPPED MOM! YOU WEREN’T YOU DAD! YOU THOUGHT BAKA-SAMA WAS DEAD! YOU THOUGHT YOU LOST, AT THAT POINT IN YOUR LIFE, YOUR ONLY SOULMATE!”

Cobra looked at his son. “MOM CAME IN AND CHANGED THAT! NOW YOU HAVE HIM, MOM, FUUKA, AND NOW EVEN MAO! YOU LOVE THEM ALL WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART!” Cobra turned back to the road.

“WHAT’S STOPPING YOU FROM HAULING OFF AND DECKING ME IS YOU KNOW I AM RIGHT!” Joe yelled and Cobra sighed then they heard shots ringing out. “WHERE?!” Joe yelled.

Cobra’s eyes immediately started scanning the area. “Stay down.”

Kiba growled and leaped into the air towards where the shots were ringing out. “C’mon,” Joe whined as he tried to keep track of where his brother was.

YOU THINK YOU’RE MAN ENOUGH TO TAKE ME DOWN! ” Kiba growled, sinking his teeth into one of the men surrounding the shooter.

“...Not sure if this idiot is my brother right now.” Joe sighed. “He was never much for plans...but that is Baka-sama worthy.”

Cobra facepalmed.

“Maybe when Kili has the kid we get the idiot back to normal. So...think we can work through your feelings as we punch people in the face?” Joe asked as he pulled out a small throwing knife that his boyfriend had gifted him and tossed it at the shooter where it landed in his shoulder making him drop the gun.

“Hopefully.” Cobra slammed a fist into another enemy’s face. “My feelings don’t matter..”

Joe grabbed a guy by the collar as he heard another man screaming from the pain in the bite Kiba was delivering. “You say that, like you weren’t the glue that made all of this possible. Mom wanting to come back to save you.” He headbutted the man. “Making SWORD be more than the first letters of our names. But be something that Kuryu and Chanson could view as rivals. Or as fate would have it their better.”

He kicked another in the groin. “All because of you. So your feelings do matter, old man.”

Cobra inhaled sharply before appearing uncaring. “She got a hard-on for a man dead for twenty years! That’s all.”

The two men started making their way to Kiba as he tore through a few more. “You say that again and again. You think you aren’t anything special. But the truth is Dad...you are the man that made this world a better place. By just being you. Mom, Fuuka, Mao, Murayama, they fell for you because of that. Think about this,” they punched the same man in the throat causing him to gasp for air. “That man that was dead for twenty years didn’t pretend shit. He was you.”

Cobra ignored Joe’s words, mind refusing to understand. As they took down the final guy Joe grabbed his father and hugged him. “You will see it one day.” He turned his back to his father and went to Kiba.

“C’mon brat. Your dinner is done.”

“He tried to shoot us,” Kiba growled, sinking his teeth deeper causing the shooter to scream in pain.

“Dude...you don’t know where that’s been!” Joe grabbed him and tried to pull him off the man. Cobra went to his bike and lit up a cigarette.

“I’M NOT DONE!” Kiba growled.

“YES YOU ARE!” As they fought, a van squealed around the corner. It barely stopped as it grabbed Cobra. Joe saw them sticking his father with a needle as they yanked him in with such precision that it screamed this was not the first time they had to kidnap a warrior like Cobra.

“DAD!!!” Joe yelled. Kiba stood up and looked at the van driving away. A sinking feeling knowing that even if he dashed to the bike he would still lose it. “This is your fault,” Joe growled, shoving him to his bike. “We gotta get Kili on his scent. C’mon wild mutt.”

“Shut up...” Kiba hung his head as he started it.

“I’m sorry,” Joe said as the women gathered at Itokan. “You gave me one job to look after both Dad and Kiba...I blew it.”

“You didn’t blow it, baby,” Chika said, caressing her son’s cheek. Then turning to Kiba. Kiba couldn’t look her in the eyes. “You didn’t blow it either.”

“If I wasn’t being a fuck-up, we would have seen them,” Kiba answered bitterly.

“You aren’t a fuck up,” Kili growled before making him look into her eyes. “I should have kept track of my fertile period. I should have made sure that you wouldn’t have to go through this. Your head isn’t making this worse. It is acting like all men do during this period for vampire births.” She kissed him. “Don’t think less of yourself. Anymore than you think less of me for losing control of some of my senses right now. If my sense of smell was actually working we wouldn’t be sitting around here waiting for any intel at all we would be there and getting your Dad back.”

“She’s right. You may be a bit wilder more wild right now than we are used to. But you are still Baka-sama Jr.” Ichika kissed his forehead. “Honestly I know you look like Cobra but I need to check and see if you aren’t his instead and you just somehow got your other father’s looks...somehow.”

Kiba gave her a wry smile before growing serious again. “Do we know anything?”

“...No, we don’t know anything. We are looking into where and how this happened. We are thinking this is the Black Hand again. Mao is calling her old contacts to see if there were any movements. And Fuuka is looking into travel records. We...know he was taken and the fact that he was injected not shot in the head...they want him alive. They could have just shot him in the head as they drove. So...he isn’t dead and don’t think that yet.”

Kiba let out a growl. “I know, baby. I know. If anything happens to him whoever did it won’t have enough pieces left to fill a thimble. Just...don’t go feral right now. We need those teeth to be focused and sharp, okay Little Wolf?”

Kiba reluctantly nodded, but his eyes were still angry. “I should have jumped in with him. I could have stopped this.”

Kili nuzzled her boyfriend. “I’m sorry baby. I know you were so happy about this little vamp inside me. Even if you don’t show it in front of people.” She smirked, kissing his neck. “But I reiterate that this is NOT your fault.”

Kiba slowly nodded, holding her close. Ichika kissed her son’s cheek. As Mao came in. “I think I know the bitch that took him.” She looked flustered. “Remember the other shit detail general of the Black Hand I brought up with Steven Surge? I finally got her name and thanks to that cop friend of yours we were able to get images of her coming into the country.”

Kiba snarled as Yamato rose to his feet. “Where is she?”

“That is still a mystery right now. The Junkos are having the Strawberry Milk girls look as discreetly as possible. But her name, according to her passport, is Lacey Douglas. Looked into her...nasty piece of work. The bitch used her real name too. She is the daughter of a mob boss. And was suspected of his murder but no charges were filed because she was deemed ‘unfit’ to stand trial. She feigned insanity then skipped town before she was to be put in the psych ward.”

Cobra started to stir at the sounds of giggles. “Is my big strong man waking up?” he heard and groggily looked up to see a woman in lingerie smiling at him like he was a piece of meat. “Hello there cutie.”

He raised an eyebrow as he slowly pushed himself up to a sitting position. “Who are you?”

She giggled. And the sound was so annoying that you might prefer nails on a chalkboard. “I’m your little Laceykins. And you are my big strong stud. So much better than Steven. The loser couldn’t hold my inferior in that bitch, soon-to-be, ex-wife of yours.”

Cobra’s eyes flashed. “You aren’t my anything. And if you touch her, I hope she uses her bat to flatten your skull. Also, there are phones. No need to kidnap anyone.”

She giggled again and Cobra was already mentally preparing an apology to Rocky for hitting this woman. “This is part of our little game, my little Cobrapoo. I am the only woman you will ever need. After all, I am this hot.” She flaunted her body and he had to fight the urge to vomit. “You will be my little toy to use and send to beat the men that want me but can’t have me.”

“There are bodyguards for that.” Cobra tested his bonds, finding them tight. “Also, have you ever been tested for narcissism?”

Her smile faltered a little. “Those...those...PEOPLE didn’t know what they were talking about!” she roared. Her smile leaves her face. “How am I mentally insane? I AM A GODDESS!!”

“Why don’t you go back to wherever your Mount Olympus is? We’re just fine without you. I’m never going to be with you. I have a family. And I’m sure as shit never going to beat down anyone for you. I fight for my family and town. And you ain’t a part of either. So let me go unless you are okay with dying.”

Her smile was gone. Her annoying giggle was gone. She stared at Cobra with rage in her eyes. “You...you think you can do better than ME ? Oh you WILL be my fuck toy. I will use you when I want HOW I want.” She cupped his face, the smile on her face making Murayama look positively sane. “And if you keep fighting it Cobrapoo...I can’t guarantee the safety of your...‘family’.” she growled.

“I’m going to have to apologize to both Rocky and Chika. I’m going to kill you.” Cobra pulled as hard as he could on his bonds, his voice ice cold.

She breathed heavily before kicking him in the balls. “Fine.” She panted out. “Fine if my little Cobrapoo wants to take this the hard way...I HOPE you can live with the consequences,” she growled. “Who first? The brats I will never raise? Or...I know. That bastard Murayama. Save the weak for last. But maybe also...one of the brats...Joe perhaps?”

Cobra snarled and tried to lunge for her. “Don’t you touch them!”

“YOU caused this Cobrapoo. Next time I come in here...I better cum in here.” Her giggle was back and it made him gag as he fought against the restraints. As she left him in his cell.
