Work Text:
It had became a tradition. Every years festivities were held for the anniversary of the end of the war and of the begining of Alm and Celica's reign. Forsyth knew that all the villages had their own way to celebrate this event. But he always returned to the same village. The one where Python lived.
Forsyth always dreamed of becoming a knight. But Python was different, he had no interest in chivalry. It doesn't meant that he wasn't a hero, he was a veteran of the Unification War and prevented bandit attacks. They were both protecting Valentia in their own ways. Forsyth was directly at the king's order ; Python was more discret, he was doing his best to ensure that the people living in the same area than he were as safe as possible. Alm offered to knight him more than once but the blue haired man always refused. He wanted to stay close to his roots in his home village. But even if Python and Forsyth were physically appart their bound remained as strong as ever. Maybe even stronger than before.
Forsyth never wasted any occasion to visit Python, wich mean everytime that he wasn't serving the kingdom. Of course most of the knights family was living in the same village but he was always visiting his childhood friend first. Python didn't expressed intense joy but those who knew him well would always tell that he was waiting for Forsyth. It wasn't perfect but it was the life they had chosen for themself. It wasn't that different to the relationship between a sailor and their spouse. They were happy together.
As always Forsyth brought Python a bottle of his favorite alchool. They had just the time to prepare for the local festivities. Eating at the festivities in his village always brought so much nostalgia to Forsyth but this time he noticed that they had more sweet plates than ever. He looked at his companion who smiled back. Of course! This year Python's sister was amoung those in charge with the banquet , knowing Forsyth's tastes he asked his sister to cook something that the knight would love. And Python hated sugar. He loved so much the archer !
