There was a big room.
Too big for a 4 year old.
Too quiet to feel safe.
Sunlight coming through the curtains giving a soft golden glow in the room.It was warm and calm. The only sound was that of the fan It almost made the silence worse.felix was hiding.
his little legs were pulled up to his chest and his heart was pounding,they were playing hide and seek. He was hiding in the perfect place.
atleast he thought he was,that is until
A shadow showed up on the floor,bigger than his own.Not an adult but not a little kid either.
“Found you,” a voice said.
It was his cousin...his older cousin smiling.
“let’s hide together?”he asked.
felix nodded.He didn’t think anything was wrong. He was too young to understand what fear really was.
Then came the touch.
Weird. Wrong. Too close. Too long.
The cousin said it was a new game. Said it was normal.
After a while, the cousin left. Another voice called from downstairs for a times up.The game ended everyone went back to eat something.Felix stayed hidden a little longer. He didn't know how to feel and he didn't know why it felt wrong. He just didn’t know why.
Felix didn’t speak. He didn’t cry. He didn’t run.He just froze.
He never told anyone.
He just stayed away from that cousin after that.
Felix woke up with a jolt in his dorm room breathing hard.
His forehead was sweaty his fists were tight.He doesn’t know why he feels scared again. He didn't know why he got the dream out of nowhere he tried to forget that event so bad.
He closes his eyes and whispers to himself:
“It’s over. It’s done.”
But a small voice inside him says, Not really.
