Work Header

one kiss, one date, one union

Summary:

3 am first fic nonsense. I just want dorlene fluff with happy ending, even if it’s short, after the sadness I’ve been reading recently. Also, a lot of time skips.

Notes:

Trash grammar and spelling probably cause I’m on a phone… And it’s 3 am. No timeline or anything so fill in the blanks however you like.

Work Text:

“Hi Im Marlene, Marlene Mckinnon.” Marlene says.

“Dorcas, Dorcas Meadows. Nice to meet you Marlene” Dorcas responds with.

Time skip.

Marlene giggles, “stop Cass, that tickles.” Dorcas leans over, her face above Marlene’s.

Dorcas stares transfixed on Marlene’s eyes as she stares back up at her. Marlene stops laughing, distracted by the girl close above her.

Marlene pauses before making a decision, hugging Dorcas and rolling over so she is on top before whispering, “can I… can I kiss you Cass?”

Instead of responding Dorcas leans up and kisses Marlene, feeling her soft lips against her mouth once. “Anytime Marly.” She says before gently pulling Marlene’s head down against her own, stealing another kiss.

Time skip.

“Cass! Over here!” Marlene waves frantically on top of a small hill, a blanket beneath her with some snacks and a drink sitting in a basket.

“Hi! You look beautiful Marly!” Dorcas responds, still shocked her and Marlene going on a date is real.

Marlene chuckles, “thank you Cass, you look stunning yourself!” Marlene smiles, regretting not taking that step sooner.

Time skip.

“Dorcas Meadows. Will you marry me?” Marlene asked, kneeling down on the dock while Dorcas looked off into the sunset.

Dorcas looked back in shock, tears starting to drip down her face in an instant. “Yes, yes of course!” Before jumping at Marlene and hugging her. Spinning her around, peppering kisses all over her face.

A second later, Marlene puts the ring on Dorcas’ finger when Dorcas pulls out a box of her own. “I was actually planning on asking you tonight under the stars.” Sobbing at how they both knew it was time to ask.

They hug, Dorcas putting the ring on Marlene’s finger, soon after sitting down on a bench still holding Marlene tight.

Time skip.

“Do you, Marlene Mckinnon, take Dorcas Meadows to be your other half, for all of eternity. In life and death?” The ritualist asks.

“Yes, Yes I do.” Marlene responds with tears streaking down her face from happiness.

“Do you, Dorcas Meadows, take Marlene Mckinnon to be your other half, for all of eternity. In life and death?” They speak to Dorcas this time.

“Yes, Yes I do!” Dorcas rushes out, smiling gleefully, crying just as much.

“Then will you, Dorcas Meadows, and Marlene Mckinnon, seal the covenant with a kiss.” The ritualist steps back, waving their wand while muttering under their breath.

Dorcas and Marlene lean forward, meeting in the center with a bright flash, sealing the covenant until their souls wither away from eternity.

Time skip.

“Cass, should we have a kid?” Marlene asks, nervous but already knowing the likely answer.

“Do you think it’s time? If you do then I agree. I’m ready.” Dorcas responds, smiling at her partner.

“Yes, I’m ready.” Marlene replies, relieved that there was no change in opinion.

Time skip.

“Meet Callie Mckinnon-Meadows.” A nurse holds her up to Dorcas and Marlene who were sitting in each others grasp crying at their beautiful daughter.

Callie opens her eyes, bubbling up at her parents. Smiling and giggling.

“She has your eyes Cass.” Marlene whispers, in love with their baby.

“And your smile Marly.” Dorcas responds, entranced with the girl who is the result of their union.

The End.
