Chapter Text
I followed Phoebus down towards the hearth. I could feel that everyone else was already there. I had been feeling people more and more. It was kind of stressing me out, but it was something that I really didn’t have the time to think about.
The last month had been wild as fuck. Nico Thalia and I had been basically banned from our respective homes while our families waged an unwinnable war. We had met the fates who offered to let us come back in time in hopes of stopping it all. Traveled back to when I was a kid. Read my journal.
I had rebooted all of my relationships with everyone aside from Rachel, Grover, Leo and my cousins. Annabeth was avoiding me. I negotiated with the oldest titan. Almost got lured into Tartarus. Killed one of my half siblings and took a dip in the styx.
Oh and there was the whole thing where I might be kind of slowly becoming a god. That about covers it though. Unless you count my growing relationship with the most amazing guy ever.
That brings us to the here and now where we were about to start reading my second journal. I was very much not looking forward to this, but I was going to try not to stress over it. Not like I could change anything now.
“Perseus?” Phoebus asked softly. I realized with some embarrassment that I was just standing in front of the hearth and everyone else had already taken their seats. As if I wasn’t already the center of attention here.
Suddenly there was a blinding flash in front of me. As the spots cleared from my vision, they became a very confused looking cyclops.
His big brown eye widened in delight as he saw me. He dropped whatever the metal thing he was supposed to be holding was. Then he barreled towards me.
I braced for impact as he slammed into me. I was grateful for the blessing of the styx making sure I wouldn’t have bruises from his crushing hug. “Yay you are not dead!” he shouted.
“Not even a little bit.” I assured him. He nodded excitedly. “The campers were afraid you were dead, but Daddy said you weren't. He said you were just lost, so he let me come look for you. Now I found you, but all the god people and water people and some goat and tree people found you too. Now we can find lost people and ride fish ponies and make things go boom!”
I laughed “In that exact order?” I asked. He nodded seriously. Then he grinned when he saw my mom. “And Ms. Sally can make us blue peanut butter cookies.”
I laughed again. “Maybe later bud, but for now we have a very important job to do.” Tyson stood up to his full height. “Whatever brother Percy needs.” he said seriously.
I smiled at him. “We came back in time. Like back to when we first met.” He narrowed his eyes. “Percy was smaller back then.” he noted. Clarisse snickered. “Yeah” I agreed, “I was, but I am not now. It’s magic.”
I bit my lip trying to come up with how to explain this to him. He was only the equivalent of a ten year old kid right now. ”Our family is going to sit with us and read my journals so we can try to make the wars stop sooner.” I explained.
Tyson shook his head. “They can’t read your journals. No one is allowed to touch Percy’s journals. Remember you stabbed the fast boy?” I laughed “Yeah, I do remember that, but this is very special circumstances, so I had to give special permission for us to read my journals.”
I bit my lip. “Right now we are going to start the journal that details our trip through the sea of monsters.” Tyson frowned and his shoulders dropped. “We have to read that?” he asked.
I nodded “Yeah.” He stuck his lip out in a pout. “Don’t wanna hear about that. Was just a baby back then. Messed up lots.” I shrugged “You and me both man, but doing this will help everyone, so I am going to do it. What about you.”
He huffed and went over to sit next to Beckendorf. “I will help too.” he looked over at Beckendorf with a frown. “How come you are not dead?” he asked. Leo snorted. Benkendorf shrugged. It’s a long story man. I will tell you later k?”Tyson nodded. “K.”
I spoke up before he could reveal anything else. “Tyson, there are very important rules we have to follow while we are here to read. The most important is that we can’t say too much about things that are not in the journal yet. Do you understand?” he nodded. “I will not talk too much.” he promised
I sat down next to Phoebus and cuddled close to his side. He wrapped an arm around my shoulders. I squeezed my eyes closed for a moment to center myself. Then I looked over at Aunty Hestia.
She was in the form of a middle aged woman today. She smiled at me. “Ready when you are.” I told her. At her raised eyebrow I corrected myself. “Well as ready as I can be given the circumstances.”
I looked around. “Alright, brace yourselves, because this one is going to be a mess from beginning to end. It was a wild summer.”
Hermes chuckled trying lighten the mood. “You just found the master bolt kid. It can’t be wilder than that.” I met his eyes. “Just you wait cousin.” I warned.
I huffed and shook my head. I glanced over at Clarisse who rolled her eyes and stood up. She grabbed the book from Hestia and brought it to her father before going to sit back over by Chris. “Alright Losers.” She grumbled “Lets fucking go.”
