Chapter Text

Budapest, 1:30 PM

Her legs felt sore as she was running throught the forest, but that didn't stop her. Arms moving foward and back to help her to speed up. Whole body was tense. Incapable of stopping. Brown eyes watched her prey just few metres in front of her. She knew she'll be tired after all this but she loved a good chase. The adrenaline with it. How she felt powerful like a hunter, ready to kill.

And finally her prey started to slow down. Despite the fact that they were a few feet away from each other, she could hear the hard breathing. Pain and exhaustion visible on body of her victim. That gave her advantage and she didn't hesitate to use it. With one short jump, she pushed him down to the ground. Her weight pinning him down and making him powerless.

He was scared, even terrified. He watched her with his eyes, reminding her a sweet innocent deer. He wasn't any of it. He was a rat. With that throught The woman caught man's hands upon his head and crossed them together. She didn't have any rope to bind him up. So she simply used her blade. His scream pleased assasin's soul.

"Please!..Let me go!"

Blonde woman tilted head slightly to left and smiled. It wasn't a kind smile. No. It was a smile of killer, psychopath maybe. The smile that gave people chills.

"Aw, they're always so adorable when they beg." woman almost purred.

The scenery were now full of man's sobbing. He muttered something she could not understand. Honestly, she didn't even care. Smile was suddenly gone. Eyes cold and dark, just watching him silently. Deciding the proper way of the execution. Like a shark before deadly attack. She opened her black coat, pulled out gun. Blown off the invisible dirt and placed it to man's forehead. Slowly moving her finger to the trigger and pulli-

Woman groaned with frustration as she looked to the sky. Meantime her projection of anger, the mobile phone kept ringing. Finally, she closed her eyes in irritability and then took her phone from a pocket on her jeans and accepted the call. Sending the man laying under her fake apologetic smile.

"Aurora." her code name was said. She couldn't risk her real name infront of the terrorist.

"Antarctica."

Aurora tilted head in confusion and licked her lips. Why on earth is he calling her when she has a mission? She cleared her throat and answered as protocol ordered.

"Copy."

Body in tense, waiting for the reason of this call.

"You are needed in London. Finish the job and take the first flight back."

And with that, the man on the phone hang up. Aurora rolled her eyes and put device away. She glanced back to her victim, gun still pointed to his forehead.

"Tsk, tsk. Always bossing me around. Terrible, isn't it? Men. "

The sound of gun echoed through the forest. Scaring the bird out of their vests.

And the person responsible for it was walking away from a dead body letting it to rot.

Clapping of heels filles room full of older men. Every one of them turns head to that disruptive sound, ready to lecture the maker of loudly noise. But soon as they saw blonde hair, brown eyes and luxurious suit they returned back to minding their own bussines.

Said woman smiled. The men here knew better than to stop her. She walked authoritatively. Every step resonated confidence. Her spine perfectly straightened, making her taller and elegant. Extrodinary outfit in such a boring place attracted too much attention. And that was the exact point. Her extremely expensive clothes, her hair in elegant low ponytail. Makeup precisely done with purpose to higlight her natural beauty. That all was conscious decision. To impress her business partner.

Without a knocking on the door, she opened them in one move. Her eyes scanning the whole room as she closed the door to avoid some unwanted listeners. And there he was. Sitting on armchair with a newspaper in his hands. Reading and observing every information. His blue eyes squinted in concentration.

"Alexandra."

His voice breaking her admiration. Alexandra blinked twice, then put a smile on her face as she walked to seat across from him.

"Mycroft."

The man finally looked up. His gaze scanning her and taking in every little detail about her. She was aware that he was doing his thing. Deduction. So Alexandra just sat slowly, giving him time to observe and perceive how the mission went on. And then brown met blue. Mycroft pointed slightly with his head at the teacups and raised an eyebrow in question.

"Tea?"

The question was just a formality. Alexandra noticed that her tea was already prepared and how she knew Mycroft, he made it exactly how she took it. Well, after 20 years she'll be dissapointed if he didn't.

"Thank you. So what was so important to disturb me in the middle of mission?" she asked.

Mycroft gave her a mocking look, raised his eybrows.

"Please, you were already finished when I called you."

That arrogant bastard. He was right as always. Alexandra didn't know how he did it but he always could predict how long each mission lasted.

"Hm."

Blue and brown melting together. Just watching the other with total patience. This was their thing. They never told each other that their absence in each other's life made them miserable. No, that was beneath them. Rote after a long mission was this. Mycroft invited her to Diogenes Club, made her tea and just enjoyed her presence. Alexandra mocked him and drank her tea. Simple.

Mycroft handed her some file.

"Sherlock found a companion." he only said.

What? Alexandra's eyes widened with that words.

"You mean a friend?" she asked.

Mycroft left out a sigh. Oh, how she missed this.

"Yes, a friend."

He said that word with such disgust. She had to roll her eyes over that behavior. Alexandra then opened the file and quickly glanced over. Mycroft patiently waited for her to finish. Their eyes met again.

"A soldier. Good, very good." she said.

Mycroft nodded in agreement and continued the conversation.

"I did the usual procedure. He refused, even without knowing the amount. Quite remarkable."

Alexandra chuckled.

"That frightening method again, Myc? You should call me earlier." now she was smiling widely.

Man infront of her flashed an irritated look at her when he heard his shortened name. That didn't stop her in talking.

"Loyalty of the soldier. That's exactly what Sherlock needs. More eyes on him to keep him safe And another friend. Perfect."

Alexandra stopped her little speech. A question popped in her mind. She glanced at Mycroft, still sitting there and listening to her.

"As much as I am happy about this information, Myc. I don't understand why you just didn't call me instead of my comeback to London." she said.

Mycroft cleared his throat, took a teacup from table between them and sipped. Alexandra decided to do the same. After a while The teacupps were back on their places. Blue eyed man licked his lips and finally explained.

"I would like to ask you a favour, my dear."

"Carry on."

Mycroft connected his gaze with hers.

"Like you said, more eyes to keep him safe. After a disscusion with Lady Smallwood and the others in council, we wondered If you could spend more time in London. No missions for a while. Just domestic bliss." he said.

Alexandra tensed a little. Her eyes were not so soft anymore. They were dangerous. Silently remiding Mycroft who he is talking to.

"Is that an order, Mycroft?" she asked in harsh tone.

In his defense, Mycroft shook his head.

"I have no power to order you, Alexandra. I am just suggesting this option as your business partner."

Alex's gaze softened, her posture relaxed. A shadow of smile on her lips as she said: "Alright. I am staying in London indefinitely."

And with that The story of Alexandra White starts.
