Sebek never had any friends
Sebek never had a family
Sebek has never had a safe place to be himself
Sebek was never accepted
Sebek looks at his fragmented reflection in the mirror, he doesn't like the mirror, the mirror reminds him of what he is, the mirror is the object that makes him see reality
Sebek is cold, in Diasomnia it is always cold, but he has warm pajamas, but he is still cold
Sebek's eyes sting, they feel strangely warm, it's the only warm thing
Sebek was a little boy like many others
A being full of energy and happiness, with slender and fast legs that ran while the wind caressed her face with locks of hair intertwined with small daisies taken from the field
He slowed his pace, walking timidly toward a small group of boys who were carrying beautiful wooden soldiers and horses
"Can I play with you, please?" He asked smiling with his voice that came out unconsciously very shrill. He wanted to play with them so much, he always asked if he could play with them, but they told him to go play with the humans and not disturb superior beings like them. Maybe this will be the right time, he is also a Fae like them! No?
One of them snorted in annoyance, causing Sebek's smile to fade
"You again, we already told you to go away from the likes of you" The Fae child said with hostility, his brown eyes looked disgustedly into Sebek's mint green ones who instead looked at him with disappointment
"But I'm like you! Why can't I play with you?" Sebek asked raising his voice, annoying another Fae child who had gray eyes
"Oh Sevens, this shrill voice makes my ears bleed, what are you a plucked hen?" He said covering his ears, while another child who was still a Fae but with blue eyes laughed
"Can't you see that he's a plucked crocodile?" The others laughed, making Sebek ashamed, he just wanted to play...
"Why can't I play with you...why are you so mean to me?" Sebek asked again but this time adjusting his voice, his eyes slowly filled with tears that he tried to hold back, he must be a strong boy like his grandfather said! He thought to himself
The he kids were getting pissed, that green-haired brat pretending to be a Fae was bothering them, and it wasn't the first time
"Listen human, we're going to tell you one last time and let's be clear, you're a fucking human and so you have to go away from people like you, why don't you go back to your father and don't bust our balls" Said the one with the blue eyes
"If you come back again you'll see what will happen to you" Said the brown-haired one instead, cracking his knuckles
Sebek looked at them with dull eyes, he just wanted to play with someone, he said to himself
"Come on guys, let's keep pretending to be guards for Lord Mallues"
"I hope to be a guard for Lord Malleus"
"Who wouldn't want to be?"

"Waka-sama! Wait, I'm coming with you so you won't be in danger!" Sebek shouted as he ran towards the prince Draconia who was coming out of the wooden house
Malleus sighed, Sebek became sad, if he doesn't accept me, who will?
Sebek is lying on the bed in his bedroom, he had argued with his mother because she had forgotten his birthday
"But if you talk about Volker and Mechthild, she's the first to remember it." He whisper, burying his face in the pillow
"Hey are you still angry" A tall boy with dark green hair entered the room
"Don't bother me Volker" Sebek snapped at his older brother, he wondered why he had an idiot brother and a narcissistic and spoiled sister
"We're going out, if you want to come come but you have to apologize to your mom for being an idiot"
"ME AN IDIOT?! And then apologize for what? For telling the truth!" Sebek shouted angry and shocked, not only was he wrongly accused now he also has to apologize as if nothing had happened
"You're lucky we're nice to you, how ungrateful" Volker said annoyed and then left the room slamming the door
Sebek was just lying there seething with rage, he wanted so badly to get away
"Hey Sebek, tomorrow morning do we want to have breakfast together since we have the same class?" Said the short, lilac-haired human from Pomefiore, Sebek blinked many times
"Huh? Do you want really go out with me" Sebek said, he thought he had heard wrong
"Well if I didn't want to I wouldn't have asked you, silly" Epel teased
Sebek felt something warm flooding his chest, a strong emotion moving his insides, his eyes lit up but then went out thinking it was just a joke
"I don't go out with mere humans like you! I have to protect Waka-sama!" Sebek yelled at Epel
"Okay, I get it. No need to be so offensive." Epel said. Sebek didn't know why he said that, he really wanted to hang out with the apple-loving human
Sebek regretted what he had said as he watched Epel walking away
"Ehhh...wait!" Now or never, Sebek told himself. Epel turned his head curiously
"Yeah?"
"Maybe... maybe Waka-sama wouldn't mind if we had breakfast together in the morning..." Sebek thought that Epel would refuse, given how he had treated him but he hoped that he would accept anyway
"Oh sure! Is tomorrow morning at 7:00 in the school gardens okay or do we want to eat in your dorm? I don't think you'll like Pomefiore's food, you throw up as soon as you see them" Epel laughed, he managed to catch a small smile from Sebek
"It's okay in the gardens, if you eat Lilia-sama's food she died instantly, and then it would be nice to have some fresh air" Sebek said and Epel nodded
Sebek finally felt something warm flooding his chest
"Ugghhhh!!!" Deuce grumbled in frustration as he ruffled his hair
"What's going on human to be so annoyed?" Sebek asked seeing Deuce who looked like he wanted to tear out his blue hair
"I didn't understand what Professor Trein explained today and I don't know how to write a report on a potion for Professor Crewel, damn it!" Deuce said as he lay down in the chair
Sebek looked at Deuce with pity and put a hand on his shoulder
"Human, if you want I can explain the subject to you and help you make the report on the invisibility potion for tomorrow" Sebek said with a voice mixed between pride and genuineness because he wanted to help one of his companions who was in a very desperate situation
Sebek heard that Deuce has problems studying and he could understand it a little, he also despairs if he can't fight and win against Silver
"CAN YOU REALLY HELP ME?!" Deuce said looking at Sebek as if he were an angel come down to earth to save him
"Mhhh, sure! I took notes on the hyena persecution and then I already did it for the report"
"Sebek you are my hero! Thank you thank you thank you!" Deuce shouted hugging Sebek very tightly with emotion while the half fae blushed with embarrassment

Sebek ran through the long corridors of Heartslabyul, he saw the decorations turned upside down or tilted, they were so eccentric
"Oh, hello, do you need help?" A tall boy with dark green hair and glasses asked, at first glance he looked like a mix between his father and his mother, he seemed like someone familiar
"Um, my name is Sebek, I'm looking for Ace because we have a project to do together" Sebek said looking at the boy in front of him, he seemed quite familiar
"Ace hasn't come back from the basketball club yet but he should be back in a few minutes. Anyway, my name is Trey Clover" Said the boy named Trey as he adjusted his glasses. He has the same last name as his father, he thought
"I understand...I don't want to disturb..." Sebek squeezed the book he was holding in his hands
"But don't worry, you can wait in the kitchen while I prepare dinner" Trey said smiling kindly, Sebek nodded and followed the dark green haired boy who went to the kitchen
Sebek watched Trey as he cut the vegetables with surgical precision, how did he manage to cut the onions without crying? He himself was tearing up a little
"Sebek, where are you from? You're new aren't you" He spoke to Sebek to engage in conversation
"Um, yes I'm a first year and I'm from Briar Valley"
"Oh, so you're a Fae?" Trey asked as he placed the onions in a glass bowl
"Half Fae..." Sebek corrected
"Oh yes?"
Sebek nodded "My mother is a Fae while my father is a simple human"
"That's so cool, where is your dad from? I don't think he's from Briar Valley either" Trey said, Sebek watched him continue cutting vegetables into small cubes, who knows what he's cooking
"You're right, he's from Queendom of Rose"
"Wow, I'm from Queendom of Rose too, and what job he does" Trey said
"He's a dentist" Trey paused to give Sebek his full attention
"How nice, I had an uncle who was a dentist, but one day he disappeared and no one knew where he ended up" Sebek looked at Trey with regret
"I'm sorry Trey-senpai...and what was your uncle's name?" Sebek asked cautiously
"Benedict Clover" Sebek looked at Trey with wide eyes, what...?
"Benedict Clover is my father..." Sebek said slowly still shocked, Trey was surprised
"Really?! I just know he disappeared but I didn't know where he disappeared to...maybe I could ask my parents more..." Trey couldn't believe it, could the boy in front of him be his cousin he didn't know he had?!
"Is that so...weird?" Sebek expressed himself, Trey seemed nice and maybe having him as a relative wouldn't be so bad, after all Ace had told him a couple of things about him and he didn't seem like a bad person, at least not like Volker or Mechthild
"Would you like to stay for dinner? There's enough for you too, if you want to eat with us of course" Trey asked
"Um, I'd be happy to, I haven't eaten since this morning, I forgot" Sebek smiled
"Oh, would you like a honey cake, so you can fill up a bit since dinner will take a while" Trey said handing him a basket with some honey cupcakes
Sebek looked at the little golden sweets and felt his tummy rumbling. He blushed
"Thank you..."
"No problem, I'll talk to my father tonight and see if we really are long-lost cousins"
Sebek nodded, he hoped to have a new family member who isn't an idiot
Time passed, in the morning he was always intercepted by Epel who asked him if they could eat together or simply walk towards their companions
Deuce always asked him for help studying or just doing homework together
He found out that he and Trey are actually related so they spent time getting to know each other, and he liked him because he wasn't mean like his sibilings
Then he also made friends with other people, Yuu, Grim, Ace, Jack, Ortho Jade and more
He confided his problems to Yuu and Grim to feel comforted and he felt their problems to comfort them, in his own way
With Ace they complained about older brothers, he was funny when he wanted to be
With Jack instead they talked about books while Ortho taught him to play video games
Finally he didn't expect to become friends with Jade too, talking about mushrooms together, it was so crazy
Sebek finally felt part of something
