Chapter Text
Ikor
Being the best was never an option, never a choice, and at this point Ikor couldn’t imagine a world where it was.
Yet here he was, starring at the noticeboard where, for once, his name wasn’t at the top. Instead was an almost foreign one, a name he would have never expected, Riff’s.
The worst part is, that wasn’t what he was most focused on. The part that truly caught his eye was the name that rested on second place, his name. And he could not for whatever reason stand it, his therapist called it a “pathological need to be the best” and that is why he fired her. To be fair, she did have a point but it didn’t matter to him that she could have been right because he wouldn’t allow himself to lose.
Deciding not to deal with that, he had turned to the more pressing issue. Riff had bested him. Who did he think he was, that slot belonged to Ikor and he would not give it up so easily, no matter that it was as trivial a subject as Physical Education.
Yes you heard that right, he had lost to Riff at PE of all things. Speak of the devil.
Riff was a poster boy straight out a magazine, and weather anyone noticed or not, he was Ikor’s polar opposite. The boy standing next to Riff had hair styled so heavily with gel that Ikor would think it was a literal rock if he hadn’t know any better. If memory served him right, the boy’s name was Trek. On Riff’s other side was a girl with light lilac hair, Ikor recognised her instantly as Ao-ki.
That was the “it” trio of his school and the bane of his existence. Or at least Riff was.

Riff
He was shocked to say the least.
He got the highest grade in PE, which in itself was not all too shocking, being an athletic prodigy, what was shocking was the fact that getting the highest grade means scoring above Ikor, and no one has ever scored above Ikor.
It’s not like it was a rule, it’s just the way things have always been. Until now.
He couldn’t put into words how pleased he was about the fact that Ikor had finally been knocked down a peg, and the fact that he was the one to do it was icing on the cake.
Now enough about Ikor, if someone knew that he had spent the past few minutes thinking about him than they would defiantly get the wrong idea.
