Work Text:
That sickening feeling kept on twisting around in Teto’s stomach, causing her to shift uncomfortably once again in the bed she was currently sharing with Miku, and place a hand on her chest.
For the past few days she had been feeling sort of on edge and nauseous over seemingly nothing at all. As the days went by, that feeling only got worse and worse. She had no idea what initially started it, the only thing she knew right now was that she hated feeling this way.
She stared up at the ceiling, desperately trying to not think about anything. But no matter how hard she tried to do that, her brain just continued shooting really strange thoughts at her, which only made her nausea worse.
Her mind diverted its attention to Miku all of a sudden. That girl never seemed to have trouble falling asleep. And because of that, she would always have lots of energy (sometimes a bit too much) throughout the day. Teto wondered how she did it. That would never be her.
She slowly turned back around one last time, now facing Miku. And with little hesitation, she reached out to slightly caress Miku’s open hand with her fingertip, tracing the lines on her palm gently, which sort of distracted her from the feeling.
Miku remained sleeping peacefully, a comforting sight for Teto’s worrisome state. After a few more traces, Teto stopped the motion and brought herself closer to Miku, softly pressing her face into Miku’s neck. Drawing a small breath in then sighing quietly after.
There, this was better. Well, not exactly because that icky feeling was still there (unfortunately), but it did make Teto feel more secure.
Miku woke up out of her sleep for a slight bit, probably due to the sudden touch, Teto thought.
“Mm-Teto? Are you alright?” she asked, the sleepiness in her voice showing.
“Uh, yeah,” Teto mumbled, hoping Miku wouldn’t pull away so they could stay like this for a bit longer.
“Ah, that’s nice,” Miku kinda-slurred before immediately falling right back asleep.
Teto gave a little chuckle to herself at that.
A few more quiet minutes passed by before Teto wrapped her arms around Miku’s waist. She now felt like she was calm enough to finally (hopefully…) get some actual rest. The worry she had in her was no longer as intense as it was before, and she was relieved.
She wasn’t sure if this night would be the last night for that feeling to be present, didn’t know when it would strike up again in the future if it was going to at all, but for now she was just going to try to let herself relax and get the first good night’s sleep she’s had in a while here with Miku.
