Chapter Text
“Somewhere in time, I will find you and love you again… I promise.” That’s how the dream always goes.
A white light tears through everything, relentless and all-consuming. I know, deep down, that whatever fleeting peace we’ve carved out, whatever freedom we thought we had, is about to vanish.
It’s a strange kind of death—one we can't outrun, only meet head-on. I know that. But still, I hesitate. Not because I fear the end, but because this life—this version of us —is the only thing I have left. And I don't want to face what comes next alone.
“You won’t forget me, will you?” she whispers, her breath warm against the curve of my neck.
“Never,” I promise, even if that might be a lie. “I’ll wait for you. As long as it takes.”
Then her lips find mine—for the first time, and the last.
And in the next moment, the light devours everything. A silent promise, severed. Time collapses, leaving only a void between us.
I wake. Alone. With nothing but the ache in my chest—emptiness where she should be. But it’s only a dream… Isn’t it?
