Chapter Text
It's a normal thing, Calli thinks. She doesn't know when or how but it always ends up like this whenever she's talking with one of them. Well, she kinda has an idea when she noticed it happening. Amelia, It begun with the detective.
One day the detective came to her room, knocking as she was writing lyrics for one of her songs.
Something something about advice and stuff, Calli couldn't quite remember the details or what they were discussing at the time, all she knew was she had the detective situated on her lap as they talked. One of her hands found their way around Amelia's shoulders, securing the girl in place, the blonde herself not paying it much attention as if it was the most normal thing. They continued talking about whatever while Calli kept a firm hold on them.
Amelia was light, weighing barely nothing on her lap, maybe probably because of their small frame or that Calli herself was a shinigami and thus didn't experience discomfort when doing things as such. Still, the sight of Amelia sitting on her lap like a child telling that one mall santa about the gift they want, only, in this case, Amelia wasn't a child and she was asking for advice rather than a gift.
"I know that you and...I'm not tryi...so do..." The girl went about, though her words fell on deaf ears, sounding more like a jumble of different words, the topic itself was lost to Mori who only focused solely on the detective's face absentmindedly. "Anyways, what I'm saying is..." Continued the blonde.
Calli can recall how long the discussion lasted, at least. She was aware it was something important that they were talking about, something personal that she should be more concerned about, but she's more so caught up with the fact that she has a cute girl sitting on her lap and she has one of her hands on them.
It's funny and also kinda cute, she thinks. Calli also thinks Amelia's hair smelled nice this close up, like honeyed lemons and lavender, with a hint of gun metal at the edge.
"So yeah, the others were worried about you..." Ame looks up at her, and for a moment that–hopefully wasn't more than a second–Calli lost herself within those baby blues and pink rings staring at her wine reds. 'Too close...so cute...' a shameful thought shoots across her mind.
The shinigami coughs to clear her throat and says something, though her memory fails her as to what it was she said that day.

If she remembers correctly, they were playing a video game in this one. This time, it was Gura who sat on her lap as they both played something she couldn't quite remember. It was fun from what she could recall.
The sharkgirl was mashing on her controls with a rush, laser focused eyes staying on the monitor screen ignoring the arms wrapped around her as they played. Gura was held between the shinigami's arms, with Calli also playing, the same level of focus on Gura's face could be found plastered on the shinigami's.
Videogames always brought out the competitiveness within the two of them, bonebros and all that, they were having a great time. Looking at the two of them, one would think they were both siblings or something along those lines with how Calli's legs were situated beside the shorter sharkgirl and how they had been both shouting at something within the game.
Eventually, they both sighed loudly as they finished the game, all of that tension turning into sounds of celebration. Calli allowed her shoulders to unwind and sag as Gura threw her head back, leaning into the shinigami's chest letting out a victorious breath of relief in the process. Their controllers fell on the floor with a muffled thud as the screen showed 'Victory!' in all caps.
A chuckle was shared between them as they began talking, giving each other compliments on their good work. Gura was first to approve Calli's efforts, "Nice save back there player number two! You definitely saved my tail back then!" Gura shoots, sporting a toothy grin as she looks up at Calli, chin up with her head bent leaning into the shinigami's body.
'Adorable...' Calli thinks but does not have the courage to say.
"Right back at ya player number one." Calli smirked back, playing along with a coy thick cowboy accent, she adds finger guns just for the hell of it.
After the game they decided to watch a movie. It was something Gura picked, something about a giant shark fighting a giant alligator, the usual. It might not have been the best out there but seeing how the shark's tail had been brushing against her stomach, Calli let's it be.

The third was in the library. The smell of ink and paper was unmistakable, hanging thick in the air as the afternoon sun peeked through the windows and curtains.
Ina was big on books and reading, how else would've she become a priestess for the Ancient Ones were it not for her interest in readings books and things nobody had the business of reading.
Today was a warm one, not exactly hot in a sense but warm enough that they had to open the windows for the breeze to come in. They were doing a reading session as far as Calli could remember, though she was sure Ina had been sitting in the seat in front of her not too long ago, somehow, she hadn't realize the priestess had already found herself nestled on the shinigami's lap.
She only came to find out when one of the priestesses's head flaps brushed across the shinigami's chin.
From where she was, she could barely make out the letters on the book they were both reading, and just like with the sharkgirl, Calli's arms had somehow snaked their way around the priestesses's waists, hugging them close to the reaper's body firmly.
Every now and then Calli would feel the priestesses's flaps move as they reach a certain point in the story they were reading. It was...amusing, to say the least, watching the different expressions that came to the girl's face as she let out gasps and other cute noises while reading.
The warm afternoon had an effect on the shinigami, it proposed a perfect opportunity for a nap. Everything was just perfect for a nap, she was already resting her head on top of a nice smelling Tako, a cute one too. What else would she do except hug them tighter and let herself go?
When she came to, she awoke to the sleeping figure of Ina, curled into her body, head resting on top of her collarbone, soft breaths brushing against her exposed skin. At some point the priestess must've fallen asleep after she did. The book they had been reading was placed on the table in front of them, it's leather cover greeting the shinigami as she reads the title 'Castle of Leaves' it said.
She looks around and sees the sky had been slowly turning orange. A frown forms, it was still early noon before she took a nap, did she really sleep that long? No wonder Ina fell asleep.

A flash of light followed shortly by the sound of a phone taking a photo had Calli's head turning. Wine red eyes instantly focus on the source of the disturbance, moving unto a shelf of books where she could barely make out something beyond them.
"I know you guys are there, come on out," she calls out to them. Three grinning heads poke out from the side of the shelves, all of them smirking as they took in the scene of the priestess and the shinigami in such a manner.
"Now that's a nice view~" Kiara comments making Calli roll her eyes though she did so with a smile.
"Calli's such a gentleman~" Amelia adds, taking a chair in front of her.
"Ina's sleeping face...oho~ how could I not?" With a marker at hand, Gura inched closer, grinning mischievously as they did. Ina's peaceful sleeping face would have otherwise been drawn upon if Calli had not intervened and stopped the cheeky shark.
Calli said, "Knock it of goombus," she grabs the shark by the wrist.
"Awwww, but Calli~ it's right there!" Gura whines, making a face as she did, though Calli was not giving any quarter and instead, hoisted the sharkgirl up and placed them on her other lap, earning a cute yelp from the girl. "What's the big deal!?"
"You stay there and behave Gooba, no drawing on people's faces, got it?" Calli lectured. The shark made a face but did not argue, simply just letting themselves relax and rest their head against the shinigami's bossom.
"Fine..." Gura said in surrender.
Kiara and Ame watched in mild amusement as they all sat down, taking in the view of the setting sun across the window. Calli lets out a satisfied sigh, allowing her shoulders to sag as her hands keep the two girls still and stable. Almost like a habit, she begins humming a tune of no particular song, just a beat, a melody of something happy.

Usually, when she's with Kiara, the two of them spend time by watching movies together in one of their rooms. They shift between Calli's and Kiara's each time they did something like this.
This time around it was Kiara's room that they used.
They were watching some korean drama that Kiara had put up for them to watch. Kiara said it was something they should watch together, and that they did, with Kiara currently resting her head on Calli's shoulder as they watched.
Occasionally Kiara's hand would sneak into the popcorn bucket on Calli's lap, stealing bits and pieces as they watched. Calli was aware of how quiet the pheonix can become when she's invested in watching something, this was one of those times.
The movie had a run time of two hours, pretty decent and plenty long for a night such as this. Then, somewhere between the film they reached a kissing scene which earned a squeal from the pheonix, a popcorn kernel falling onto the floor as she rejoiced at the scene. Calli simply chuckled at the energy the pheonix exhibited, choosing not to say anything as she stuffed her face with more popcorn while watching.
As the kissing became more intense, Calli began stuffing her face more and more, until the bowl was snatched from her grasps. She turned to face the hand that took her food and soon came face to face with a pair of vibrant amethysts staring into her wine reds. The caramel butter in Calli's mouth tasted a tad bit sweeter when they met together. As they stared back at one another, the movie essentially became nothing more than ambiance.
Calli could see the hunger in those pair amethysts, a hunger that butter caramel popcorn alone could never fill. Soon, hands were touching places, starting with teasing and tracing, then cupping and rubbing, then gripping and finally clawing.
They both separate for a gulp of air, Kiara breathing at the same pace as Calli did. "You've been giving the others a lot of attention lately..." Kiara spoke, a slight lilt in her voice from being a tad bit out of breath.
"They're easier to carry and weight less than you," Calli shot back with a chuckle.
"Are you insinuating that I'm fat!?" A pouting Kiara straddled herself onto the shinigami, arms locked around the back of Calli's neck. Despite the offended look she was giving, the pheonix was far from being so, in fact, she was the opposite as she grinned.
"For the others, I only need one lap to support them, for you, you get both." Like a habit, Calli's hands pulled them closer to her, firmly they grasped, and gently they held.
