Chapter Text
“No Lia, I don’t care what you think you’ve heard. I agreed to stay here, fight ONLY if it comes to it, I won’t allow you or Cal to go traipsing around the wilderness searching for that damned camp.” Rolan crossed his arms, this wasn’t something she or some stranger with a hero complex was going to sway him on.
Lia had been arguing with him for hours it seemed, ever since that ‘hero’ had shown up and defended the gate. He had been so close in convincing Cal and Lia that they should cut and run but nooooo. ‘A single sword could be the difference between victory and defeat.’ And that was that.
Both of them refused to leave now.
Rolan watched as people wandered here and there. Pathetic.
They were trapped like rats. Even so the Druids were about to force them to leave, Goblins or not. They should just leave, if they were stuck in this crowd they were sitting ducks. Just the three of them had a much better chance of getting around the Goblins unnoticed.
“Stop playing with that thing Cal.” Lia poked at the lump that Cal had gotten from one of the Druids, “If they couldn’t get it to bloom what makes you think you can.”
Cal waived her off.
Rolan glared at the Drow and her couple companions annoyed as they passed.
“Hundreds? Uugghhh it’ll take hours to kill them all.” The pale elf whined, “She’s right we should just go.”
“It’ll be fun Astarion.” The Drow held up a bottle of something, “I’ve got a plan.”
“It had better not be drinking that shit.”
The group consisted of the Drow, the paler elf Astarion, and a wizard like himself named Gale.
“I almost got it!” Cal shook his arm, “Rolan make it dark. Do the darkness thing with magic.”
He rolled his eyes but complied, muttering the incantation and containing the little pocket of darkness around the stupid thing.
Nothing.
“They probably just gave you a rock to watch you fumble around for a laugh.”
Rolan let the spell fade. The lump sat wholly unaffected.
“You need a Sylvan stone.”
He jumped not realizing she had snuck up on him peering around his shoulder. He flicked his tail in annoyance.
“Thank you, for butting in once again.” He snapped.
She brushed around him reaching into her bag.
“Why do you have a skull?” Rolan frowned as she placed the stone and the skull on the little table.
“I don’t ask you why you’re grumpy, you don’t ask me about my skulls.” She nestled the lump between the points of the stone next to the skull. “Move over here.”
She lightly gripped the front of his robes at Rolan’s chest and directed him a few steps to the side so that he cast a shadow across the ridiculous display.
“Tav are you done playing with the locals? There had better be a soft bedroll in my near future.”
Gale spoke up this time, “Now Astarion hold on, this is fascinating. I’ve read about the biology of native flora of the Underdark, with the rare opportunity to experience it for myself. If I’m not mistaken that would be a spiders egg mushroom though from all the writing I’ve consumed none have been able to reproduce them outside their native areas.”
“Draugah ilhar anon” Tav spoke, “Spider mother’s bloom. I… I don’t know about the rest of that though. Just watch.”
She held a hand over the morbid little display, darkness sprang from her hands just like Rolan had done. Although Tav managed to concentrate and deepen the blackness, the tips of the stone were still visible above the swirling dark glowing peacefully.
He opened his mouth to speak but quiet hissing began and the stone shuttered and fell, completely concealed in the inky blackness. Cal, Lia, and Tav’s wizard friend huddled closer hoping to see through the inky darkness.
“The spores are toxic.” Tav warned.
Rolan pulled his siblings away by the back of their shirts, if the wizard wanted to die it wasn’t his problem.
The visible edge of the skull trembled before falling still once more and Tav released the magic covering the pieces. Where the ugly lump had been sat a surprisingly beautiful flower resembling a spider. It had one large bright petal that curled away from the small center with eight other frilled spindly petal-like legs.
A trail of spores led from the stone and flower to the skull, that had now been covered with small colorful star-like, or possibly spider-like, growths.
“As long as one of them stays on that skull it’ll consume it over time and another will form eventually… well, I don’t know about up here but that’s what happens in the Underdark. The red and blue ones are- are umm…” Tav frowned tapping her fingers together. “Astarion what’s the word for ‘ritzgeld’?”
The elf blinked in response.
“Lots of gold. The word.”
“Valuable.”
“Failable.” Tav said triumphantly.
Astarion put his arm around her shoulders, “Valuable, Darling.”
Cal picked up the skull with a grin before Rolan could stop him.
“Put that down, weren’t you listening. It’s toxic-” Rolan snatched the thing from his hands placing it on the table once again.
Tav grinned, “It’s safe now.” She tossed the skull to Lia, “Make sure the pricks beg for it.”
The trio marched off to where they came from, Rolan could hear Gale inquiring about the stupid flowers the whole way.
He met Cal’s self-satisfied smirk with a groan.
---
Heros…
Gods they were annoying.
Everyone singing their praises, drinking and generally forgetting that the lot of them were cowering behind the walls of the Grove just a day before. The Druids would have kicked them out to their deaths and now everyone was celebrating.
No matter, the wine was sweet and, as long as Rolan ignored the chatter about the heros and their triumph, he was calm for once. Tav had accumulated a few more faces for her camp, mingling with the other Tieflings.
Cal had gone to fetch more wine and come back with the savior of the Grove.
“You grew up in the Underdark, what’s it like? Only every heard of the reasons to stay away, never heard from anyone that lived there, is that why you left?” Cal asked excitedly.
A curious expression crossed her face before she answered.
“No more dangerous than hordes of Goblins and Knoll I suppose. Although Bulette are much bigger and most Drow would spear you as soon as look at surface walkers.”
“Might be nice to see it once, eh Rolan?” Lia mused twisting that damned skull this way and that in the moonlight.
Lia had given him so much grief over studying the damned thing after Tav and the other’s had left. They’d chipped off and sold a handful of the little rocky little growths. The Druid Cal had gotten it off of had been beside himself when they showed up with the damn thing in bloom.
He scoffed, “We aren’t sightseeing Lia, I have my apprenticeship with Master Lorroakanto get to once we reach Baldur’s Gate. After that there will be no need to go mucking through that place for some rare flowers and mushrooms.”
“Still be nice to see it just once.”
Tav emptied her cup, eying the skull. When she reached for the item the colorful spore seeds, as she’d called them, burst into glowing life. The light followed her hand and faded as she pulled away.
“Wouldn’t do for everything to stop glowing as soon as we touch it like the rest of you.” Her silver eyes fell on Rolan.
Heat rushed to his face as he busied himself with filling his own cup again. Blaming it on the wine. Her hair shown like starlight against her indigo skin where the shorter bits escaped the braid at her back, Rolan frowned.
“I could show you. Make a picture from my memory.” Tav shifted nervously, “Though I can’t do it by myself.”
Lia bounced in her seat expectantly looking to Rolan. Silently begging him to say yes.
He sighed.
Why not? Maybe whatever horrors Tav had to show them would put an end to this idea of sightseeing in the Underdark.
“Fine.” He rolled his eyes, facing Tav. “What do you need? Illusion spell, what?”
Tav grabbed his hands holding them between the two of them, nearly making him jump with the sudden contact, “I can show you, but I don’t know how to explain it. You and Gale can control the Weave, I can feel it but… here.”
Her hands were cool in his, Tieflings did run hotter than most mortals but she was even cooler than that. It made the heat that began spreading over his cheeks that much more noticeable.
Tav closed her eyes taking a deep breath guiding his hands. Tav’s hands were gentle on his as she upturned his palms, Rolan felt a hum of magic start. He felt the Weave wash over him, a familiar caress throughout his body flowing through her hands and into his.
Tav’s silver eyes met his as the little orb of magic expanded. The light shifted and warped into huge, brilliant crystals and luminescent mushroom big enough walk across. Hollow glowing stones jutted from the edges of the conjured walkways before ending in blackness.
Lia oo’d and awe’d. Rolan had read about the Underdark, though the few illustrations he’d been lucky enough to see failed to capture… this. The sounds of the party still drifted through the illusion and part of him wanted everything to quiet so that he could appreciate the sight before him.
The image broke abruptly when Tav released his hands. His skin still tingled where she touched.
“Your turn Rolan.” Lia smirked.
Rolan shook his head trying to shake off the feeling, flexing his fingers.
“Come on then.” Cal prodded.
“Patience. Have you no respect for showmanship?” He spoke, letting his command of the weave lace his words as if that would suddenly charm the crowd.
Although the crowd in question being Cal, Lia, and Tav at the moment. His eyes lingered on Tav.
Cal leaned forward pretending to whisper, “Having performance issues Rolan?”
Tav stifled a giggle, pouring herself another cup.
Rolan grasped the air before him, annoyed. “Hush, you. And… Behold!”
He’d arched his hands through the air making it spark and shimmer with tiny falling lights. Tav clapped with a grin.
“Adoring applause. You’re to kind.” He drew himself up dramatically before taking an exaggerated bow. The lights danced across her skin, falling in her hair, Rolan snatched his cup quickly taking a long draught to clear his mind.
“Remember when he could barely cast that one?” Lia elbowed her brother as they laughed.
“They grow up so fast” Cal responded between breaths.
Tav hid a grin while Rolan scoffed.
Rolan sighed, “Never have I met such troglodytes,” He turned facing Tav, “I suppose you’re waiting for your thanks now?”
“Well, if that’s what you feel compelled to do, then by all means.” Tav mimicked his bow, “Otherwise I’m getting more wine.”
She didn’t wait for a response before sauntering over to the wine crates.
Rolan frowned.
“Go on you know you want to ask her how she did it don’t you?” Cal poured the last of the wine into his and Lia’s cups, “Then you can bring back more.”
“I’m only going for the wine.”
Most of the party was calming down as Rolan made his way to the crates. Tav was nowhere to be seen as he reached the supplies crates, for people that were about to set out on a tendays walk they were bringing much more wine than necessary. Rolan wasn’t going to be picking up the slack the others left behind if they decided to drink themselves stupid every night.
“Arabellen dry is in the other one.”
The bottled clanged loudly as he jumped at her words, shooting an annoyed glare in the direction of her words. How had he not seen her leaning against that stone?
“Sorry.” Tav mumbled, “I forget you surfacers can’t see in the dark.”
“I can see just fine, though I don’t go crouching behind stones,” He snatched the nearest bottle and began filling his cup. “Was saving the Grove not enough? You want to scare children in the night for a laugh now?”
Tav pushed away from the boulder, stumbling slightly.
“You’re drunk.” He noted.
“So are you.”
Rolan realized he’d begun overfilling the cup. The bottle jerked upright, as his cups contents dribbled onto the ground.
Rolan scoffed, trying to get his words in order. “Oh, sod off. I could have handled those piss drunk bastards single handedly, don’t strut around here like you’re the savior of the world wasting your energy on casting invisibility to hide in the dark.”
Tav rolled her eyes, stepping up to him. Rolan was a head taller than she, he felt the flush of his cheeks and could smelled the sweetness of the wine on her breath.
Staring into those eyes she gripped his cup with her free hand, the liquid sloshing out onto her hand as well. Slowly bringing his cup still in his hand to her lips, sipping the excess wine from the rim with a loud slurp.
He pulled the cup free quickly scanning the area as if they were being watched. Hoping Cal and Lia weren’t crouching behind a bush to spy on him.
“No. This is casting invisibility.” Tav blinked from sight.
Rolan felt her hand drag across his chest and down to his waist, his breath hitched. He should stop her but for the moment he hoped she didn’t walk away. Tav’s hand slipped around to the small of his back, circling him like some predator.
He flicked his tail as her hand gently held and stroked along its length, sending a shiver through his spine. Rolan bit his tongue to keep the whimper from escaping his lips.
“You know,” Tav plucked another bottle from the crate, her form popping back into view, “from one survivor to another, I think everyone needed this. The road is hard enough out there without Goblins and… True Souls lurking about. I’m glad you chose to stay, even if you could have defeated the Horde on your own, would have saved me from drinking Wyvern toxin.”
Her foot caught on a loose stone as she turned but Rolan was there to stop her fall.
He sighed and pursed his lips, “Do you have a tent or…”
“Oh, sir Wizard, how bold of you.”
Rolan merely let go of her arm with an irritated sniff. The burning flush of his cheeks radiating down his neck. The thought of…
No, he couldn’t afford to be distracted by such things right now.
Tav laughed softly, “No. I’ve spent enough time in the dark. You’re welcome to join if you like, forgive me the accommodations are probably not up to your lofty standards.”
At the very least he should follow her to make sure she doesn’t wander off too far and pass out in the river. Rolan tried keeping up as Tav stumbled through the camp,
carefully avoiding most of the, also drunk, party members.
He was deeper into his cups than he realized. The river flowed soothingly to the left and Rolan nearly fell over her when she picked a soft area to suddenly lay down in.
“Are you just going to hover?”
Rolan carefully joined her on the ground, working hard to hide the sway in his steps while keeping a respectable distance between them. Thoughts still swirled in his head but he would never be so bold as to assume.
“I like your stars.”
“Excuse me?” Rolan paused mid drink.
Tav nodded to the sky, “That’s how I ended up on that ship. I would sneak to the surface when I could and watch the sky turn from this to blazing light. Guess I picked the wrong night to make my escape.”
Rolan studied her closely for the first time. Somehow Tav both blended perfectly into the night while the darkness highlighted her being. Lighter, almost lavender flecks spattered her skin against the deeper indigo tone.
“Did you truly drink Wyvern toxin?”
Tav laughed. Gods why did he ask that?
His cheeks burned, Rolan blamed the wine for loosening his tongue.
“You can’t let it go, can you?” She managed to get out before downing the rest of her cup. “Yes. They were celebrating, and I tried to spike their whiskey pit. Almost got caught too.”
Her hand brushed his leg as she leaned closer.
“Had to drink some myself to prove I was innocent. Gods it tasted like piss.” Forgoing the cup Tav sipped directly from the bottle before passing it to Rolan. “Out of the four of us it wasn’t my first time. Unlike the Gobbos we had an antidote.”
Rolan finished his cup, taking the bottle from her hands.
“Even playing hero among those brutes. It’s a wonder any of you made it out alive.”
He hardly noticed the taste on his tongue, tipping the bottle to his lips.
Tav snorted, averting her gaze to the soft grass between her feet. “Oh, like you, what all talk and no sparkles?”
She snatched the bottle from him taking another long draught.
“Excuse me for not caring to save every kitten that runs up a tree.” His words beginning to mix together, “Cal and Lia are my responsibility, everyone else is on their own. Don’t expect me to charge off shooting poison to impress my friends.”
Seems like Tav had had enough. She huffed, moving to step over him and storm off back to camp but came toppling into his lap.
He wasn’t sure who kissed who first, only that her cool lips were suddenly on his and Rolan had her pressed against him. She wrapped her arms around his neck straddling his hips, he rutted against her core. His fangs grazed her lip causing a small whimper to escape her throat.
Rolan smirked against her skin as his hands found the hem of her tunic. Her hand slipped down the back of his robes, rolling her hips into his, and he moaned with the taste of her on his tongue.
If he hadn’t just had her magic pulsing through his hands he might have thought the tingle on his skin left in the wake of her touch was on purpose. Instead, he craved more, finally breaking away breathlessly.
Her lips glistened as he stared into her eyes. He wondered if he looked as desperate as she did right now. He certainly felt like it.
Her nails on his back snapped him out of his drunken stupor and his lips were on hers again. This time more frantic than before, claws scraping across the small of her back as he thrust against her core. Rolan tried to remind himself that her skin was not as tough as his, that his fangs and claws could hurt her.
“Get this off.” She breathed, pulling on his robes.
Rolan yanked them over his head, leaving only a frayed under shirt and his trousers while she hurriedly let her tunic fall from her shoulders. Her bare form was a sight to behold, the same lighter flecks that doted her cheeks ran down her neck and chest.
He paused stunned, the fleeting thought that she may regret bedding him in her state crossed his mind. Tav took the forgotten bottle and raised it to her lips.
One of his hands gripped her hip tightly while the other traced up her side. His crimson skin stood out against her own. She pulled the bottle away a little too soon causing some of the liquid to run down her neck, leaving a little wet trail along her chest as well.
“Rolan-” She gasped, dropping the bottle as his tongue followed the trail of wine on her skin.
Tav dug her nails into his back as his mouth danced over her nipple. She was all he could feel and think about right now, he needed the taste of her skin to overtake the wine.
Without thinking Rolan bit the soft skin just below her collar. The surprise made her suck in a sharp breath and he jerked away.
“Sorry. Sorry, I didn’t mean-” snapping back to reality. “I’m sorry. Are you sure you-”
He checked his fang marks on her skin but she took his face in her hands, forcing him to look at her.
“Shut up and kiss me.”
Rolan’s skin burned under her touch, rolling them both so that he could admire her as she lay on the soft grass below, legs around his waist not wanting to lose his touch for even a moment. His hair had come loose from its tie and into his face, Tav grinned pushing the strands from his eyes as she nipped and kissed along his jaw and neck.
He thrust against her clothed center earning a breathy moan from her lips. Rolan loosened the ties of her trousers though try as she might her fingers were too clumsy from all the wine to free the buttons of his own.
“Deal with yours.” Rolan panted, bracing himself with one arm to take over where she failed.
He ignored the sound of approaching steps, Rolan trying desperately to free himself as Tav began pushing her own pants down her hips.
“I think I heard him thi- AHH No Lia avert your eyes!” Cal’s voice called out.
She froze and Rolan snatched his discarded robe to cover Tav.
“Cal! Lia! What in the Hells are you doing?” He snapped trying to hide the breathlessness to his voice while readjusting his trousers. “Get back to camp.”
“Now we know why you never came back with the wine.” Lia’s laugh got farther and farther away. “That’s one way to thank her!”
Cal groaned, “I need to scrub my eyes!”
Rolan sat back on his heels rubbing his hands over his face, mumbling to himself.
“Could have been worse.” Tav chuckled. “A few moments more and…”
He groaned leaning forward, burying his face in the crook of her neck while they both tried to catch their breath. Again, she let her hands roam over his heated skin, tracing along the infernal ridges on his back, he hadn’t realized his tail was wrapped around one of her legs.
“Tav…” Rolan muttered against her skin.
She hummed in response.
“We should probably…-”
She sighed, “Yeah, yeah… wouldn’t want you to regret it in the morning.”
He awkwardly shifted away from her, trying not to stare as she slipped the tunic back on. Instead of getting up to head back to camp for the night Tav just lay back in the grass.
“You’re going to sleep out here?” Tav didn’t answer and he fought the urge to nudge her with his foot, “You didn’t pass out, did you?”
“No Rolan. Go back to camp if you like.” She tossed his robes up to him.
Rolan looked between her and the tents closer to the camp. Slowly beginning the awkward walk back to his and his sibling’s tent. Whatever sense of quiet they were trying to achieve they were failing miserably as he approached.
“Shhh shhhhhh Rolan.” Lia’s hissed as he entered.
“Not a word.” He grumbled pointing a finger in her direction, snatching a blanket from his bedroll and heading back.
His head was still swimming, not only from the wine anymore, as annoying as he’d found Tav, he couldn’t just leave. Now that they weren’t tearing at each other’s clothes it wouldn’t be polite to just abandon her in the cold. Even if it was her own bullheaded choice.
Tav lay, arms folded behind her head, eyes closed. Maybe she had fallen asleep while-
“Just couldn’t stay away?”
He scoffed, tripping over his own feet, “Hardly.”
Rolan draped the blanket over her partially obscuring her face by mistake.
“If you want to smother me, you’ll have to do better than this.” Tav spoke into the fabrics. She pulled the blanket from her face wriggling around until she was comfortable on her side. “Are you coming down here or just going to stand there all night?”
He sat next to her and kissed his teeth, “It wouldn’t do for you to freeze to death in the night in front of the others. Besides, as deep into your cups as you are I’ll have to sit here and make sure you don’t choke to death on your own vomit.”
“Whatever you say.”
He sighed sliding under the blanket next to her, between the chill in the air and how cold her skin already felt naturally she would probably start shivering soon. Rolan nearly wrapped his arm around her to pull her closer but thought better of it, instead facing away hoping for a few hours of sleep.
Rolan awoke with Tav’s face pressed into his chest, panting and mumbling something in her sleep. He’d turned to face her at some point it seemed.
“Tav?” He whispered trying to clear the rasp from his voice, giving her a gentle shake.
Whatever she was dreaming, it didn’t seem like it was good.
Her eyes flew open while her hands balled into fists in his shirt. It took a moment for recognition to settle in her gaze, Rolan wanted to ask what she dreamt about though… there’s no telling what her and her companions saw in that Goblin camp.
Tav shook her head releasing her hold on Rolan to rub at her face.
“Taudl usstan. Ol's naubol, usstan kat hass'l ulu guuan dos.” [I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you.]
Her words were foreign and she frowned at herself.
Rolan gently rested a hand on her cheek, “Are you alright?”
She only nodded before thumping her forehead into his chest again.
The wine still weighed heavy on his mind… Tav pressed closer against him. Rolan risked wrapping his tail protectively around her, the tip brushing over her back. As her breath evened out he felt himself drifting again.
A soft splash in the river woke him this time, Hells it was still dark out. How much had he drank?
Rolan sat up realizing Tav was gone, “Tav?”
He caught sight of her white hair in the water as she turned her head in his direction.
“Coming?”
Rolan pulled himself to his feet, the sway of the wine was gone from his steps but his head still felt fogged. The night was silent now, save for the flow of the river, everyone in the camp must have finally drank themselves to slumber.
“Couldn’t sleep so you-” Rolan stopped short, noticing the little pile of her clothes near his feet. “You’re going to freeze to death in there.”
Tav only giggled, flicking water in his direction. The sound had the corners of his mouth pulling as well even as the rational part of him wanted her to get out so she wouldn’t catch cold.
Rolan huffed, pulling his undershirt over his head. He felt her eyes on him as he unbuttoned his trousers.
“Do you mind?”
Tav sank into the water but turned with a quite giggle. Rolan quickly waded into the cool waters to hide his growing excitement. He shouldn’t assume, especially now that they both had time to come to their senses. Tieflings were mostly tolerated by the other races, Tav being from the Underdark probably didn’t know.
She was staring at the sky again.
He’d never paid much attention to the stars until now… The ripples across the water reflected the starlight, making it look like they were swimming in a sea of stars. Maybe he’d taken this for granted, life hadn’t exactly been easy for him and his siblings. Cal and Lia were the only thing that mattered to him. Now finally the life they deserved was within reach, if he could only get them to Baldur’s Gate.
Tav grabbed his arm, pulling him further into the water.
“Hells your hand his ice.”
The gentle current broke around them until his toes barely touched the rocks below. She disappeared under the water with a grin, only to pop back up behind him to push him under as well.
Rolan broke the surface, sputtering, “You’re going to freeze to death, how are y-”
Water splashed in his face, halting his words. Her laughter drifting over the surface of the water.
“Stop that.” He slapped some water in her direction.
It had the opposite effect and seemed to spur her on. Now he realized what she meant when she’d surprised him near the wine crates. She blended in so well with the darkness even his natural darkvision had a hard time picking her out.
“Hey!”
Tav ducked under the surface again, this time tugging on his leg until he went under too. Blackness surrounded him, the moonlight the tiniest amount of reprieve, suddenly her lips were in his again. Her body slid along his but Rolan had to break away to resurface for a breath.
“You’re going to get us both killed.”
She tried slipping around him, but Rolan caught her leg with his tail with a triumphant laugh. This time not letting go when she pulled him under but thankfully toward shore this time. The moment he could feel the stones under his feet he wrapped her in his arms, her back pressed to his chest.
Rolan pulled them both back to shore, even he felt the chill on his skin and it was surprising Tav wasn’t shivering in the night air.
“Are you done acting like a child?” He finally released her when he’d pulled them both into barely knee-deep water.
Tav sighed with a laugh. He tried not to let his eyes wander but thanks to the rivets of water on her skin she was practically clad in the star light she likes so much. Rolan wasn’t sure why he did it, maybe one night of distraction wasn’t going to hurt him after all he and the others weren’t moving until daybreak, he pulled Tav close.
Somehow it wasn’t enough just to taste her lips, Rolan needed as much of her touch as possible. Stoned shifted and crunched together, guiding them onto the shore, Tav straddled his leg. One hand palmed her breast while the other gripped one of her hips.
Rolan broke away, trying to focus, “Are you sure, Tav?”
Tav answered with a long deep kiss, nodding against him before trailing her lips down his neck and gently pushing him to lay back. His breath hitched as she worked her way down his chest, his cock twitched trapped between them as he thrust against her.
Her much cooler skin was a stark contrast to the fire running through his veins at the moment. Everywhere her free hand roamed he could still feel the ghost of her touch until her eyes met his, tongue darting out to lick the droplets of moisture from his cock.
He bit his tongue to quiet the moan that rose in his throat when she took him into her mouth. Rolan wrapped his tail around her thigh to keep it from practically wagging like a dog as her tongue slowly traced the ridges that lined his cock.
“Ahh- Tav, Hells.” Rolan propped himself up an elbow.
Her silver eyes met his. He’d meant to reach for her to bring her back up to him but Tav had other plans, taking him as far as she could. He cursed in infernal, fingers tangling in her hair eyes rolling back. The satisfied humm she let out had him guiding her movements along his length.
Rolan unwrapped his tail, teasing the tip over the curve her ass and between her legs until he found his goal. Carefully stroking through her wetness and flicking over her clit, Tav’s whine of surprise made him smirk. Her free hand clawed at his waist as she moaned around his cock, the other following her mouth along his length, arching her back and spreading her legs so he could keep up the pace.
His breath was becoming more rapid, every little whine and moan Tav let out with him in her mouth had him racing her to the end. He needed to hear her, gods he needed to feel her come undone for him. Tav gasped, mouth leaving his cock as her free hand clawed at his side.
Gods, the string of words that fell from her lips sent shivers down his spine as he thrust into her hand. His name was mixed in with her native tongue and he wanted to hear more, Tav cried out once more and his mind went blank. His spendings painted his own stomach and Rolan lay back panting.
He caught Tav eyeing the mess he’d just made, before shooting him a sly grin. Rolan stopped her from dipping her head to taste him.
Rolan quickly sat up, taking her face in his hands, “I think you’ve indulged enough for one night. Don’t be greedy.”
Her lips met his momentarily before moving to where she left her clothes. Rolan quickly pulled on his own trousers, and cast prestidigitation on himself to clean the mess.
“Here.” He repeated the spell on Tav. She smiled pulling her tunic over her head. “You really are staying out here all night, aren’t you?”
Rolan sighed and joined her back in their little spot in the grass. This time pulling her close before getting comfortable, there wasn’t any point in pretending they weren’t going to end up tangled together again anyway. Her fingers stroked along his back. Dawn wasn’t far off now, and for once Rolan was ok if it took a little longer to make it to the Gate.
