Work Text:
Stretching himself as far as he could, Felix sighed happily.
Living in a house with seven roommates was great, it really was! And he really liked all of them! Weird as they were, they were also kind and welcoming and slightly overprotective, but Felix was already used to that from his family.
He was damn happy to have been asked by Chan to move in with them, in this massive mansion at the edge of a forest, near enough to get to university and still far enough to almost feel he lived in a fairytale.
Still, this was only the third time he was actually alone in the house for more than five minutes before someone was crashing through the door, screaming at the top of their lungs, or burrowing him under them.
Which he loved too, of course. He craved skinship, but having a night just for himself where he could actually stretch out on the massive couch without being squished between at least three different bodies and where he could watch some Australian show without bickering, whining, or Minho ripping the remote out of his hand, was heaven.
He knew he’d be happy to see all of them come back from their different appointments and what-nots tomorrow, but right now he was just happy to be able to be on his own, eat unhealthy snacks and actually hear the tv for once.
He must have fallen asleep because the loud crashing sound ripped him out of a happy slumber, having him sit up as straight as a board, his heart hammering as if it was trying to jump right out of his chest.
“What-” He started, but was stopped when a massive shape had thrown itself on him.
Freezing immediately, Felix was sure he still was in a nightmare, horrible and totally safe, when a growl vibrated right through his chest where the massive, furry shape was pressing him into the couch.
Not a nightmare.
Before he could do more than let that horrifying thought trickle into his mind, the shape above him moved, and for a heartbeat he was face to face with a massive wolf’s head, far bigger than it had any right to be.
The agony was so sudden he just pressed his eyes closed, not even able to scream, before he was dragged back by teeth in his shoulder.
“Please…” He whimpered, not able to do anything else as the predator dragged him off the couch. All his instincts were screaming at him to do whatever the beast wanted, because there was nothing he could do against it. Nothing he could do to protect himself.
And in a morbid kind of clarity, he knew very well that his vulnerable jugular wasn’t all that far from where the Wolf had his teeth buried in his shoulder.
Keeping the whimpering at a minimum, to not be even more annoying to the Wolf, he let himself be dragged and shoved - right into the farthest corner of the room, where the Wolf finally let go of his shoulder, before looking at Felix again, his white gleaming teeth stained with his blood.
If Felix hadn’t been frozen in fear, he’d have thrown up at that.
The moment seemed to be endless, staring into the animalistic eyes of the beast, when the Wolf’s head moved, another, deeper, even more threatening growl ripping out of him.
There was the detached thought of this is it in his mind, when the Wolf turned around, pressing his whole massive body and weight against Felix, pushing him deeper into the corner.
His hands, trembling just like the rest of him, were pressed into the warm fur. Felix didn’t dare move an inch, his hands just pressed into the wolf.
Inhaling slowly, he tried to grab at some thought, when the Wolf moved again, and he froze, pressing his lips together to not let the whimper slip past his lips.
The growl had changed again, going even darker, even more bloodthirsty, even if he hadn’t thought that was even possible.
It was.
“Alpha.” The voice was quiet, careful and subservient.
Opening his mouth to call out, to beg for help, his brain caught up with him.
No, that couldn’t be true.
“Alpha, what did you do?” There was fear and desperation in that voice, still sounding much too subservient to actually be Minho’s.
It couldn’t be.
Felix didn’t want it to be, either, because he didn’t want Minho or any of the others to be eaten, too, or… or because he didn’t want this to be… what?
The growl got even more vicious and brutal. It vibrated right through him, rattling his bones and seemingly activating some primal fear in his brain.
The whimper slipped, as silent as he could make it, while his fear demanded an outlet.
“Bokkie?” Minho’s voice was louder, even more desperate, but before he could say even more, the threatening growl dropped to another low.
“Alpha, please.” Minho begged the Wolf that was trying to press Felix even more into the corner, even if he was already flush with the wall.
A pained groan escaped him, as he felt his body slightly give under the pushing.
The Wolf stopped immediately, while he heard something else, not from the Wolf though. Still it sounded like a desperate whine from an animal.
Was something else here? Was it injured?
“Alpha, please, your Omega is hurt, please let me help him.”
Seungmin?
Before he could do anything, there was another growl, loud and vicious, before he could hear scrambled steps.
“Sungie, no-” Minho hissed, but the rest was cut off by another threatening growl.
“Alpha, I claim him too!”
“Sungie, stop!” Minho hissed again, fear barely hidden in his voice.
He’d never heard Minho afraid. And no matter that he was sure that Minho would have a hand on Jisung, trying to keep him back, he also knew that Jisung wouldn’t.
“He’s mine, too!” There was a growl dancing over Jisung’s words and Felix, panicking, grabbed the fur under his hands, tugging at it frantically.
The wolf lowered the volume of the growling, moving slightly, as if preparing himself to jump.
“No!” Felix yelled, or tried to, as much as he could, with all the fear still lodged in his throat. This couldn’t happening, Jisung couldn’t get hurt just to protect him.
The Wolf stopped moving.
Hitting the back of the Wolf, he pressed his hands more into the fur and pushed. “Don’t hurt them!” When pushing didn’t help, he hit him again, even though that did as little as the pushing seemed to do. “Don’t hurt them.” He begged through his teeth.
It was all he could do, but he would do it, would keep the beast’s focus on him if he had to.
“Lixie?” Jisung called out, hesitantly.
“Get back! I’m fine.” He said, trying to keep his voice steady even though it broke on the last word.
“How bad is it?” Minho asked, his voice low and forcibly calm.
Glancing down at his bloody shoulder, Felix had no clue. Moving it slowly while actually focussing on it, the hiss was out of his mouth before he could stop it. Still, he could move it. Had done so, barely feeling it while hitting the wolf and trying to protect the others.
“I think… I think it's mostly fine.” The surprise was obvious in his voice. If the Wolf had wanted to break his shoulder - not to speak of his whole damn body - it would have been far too easy for it. Why didn’t it?
“Stay calm, okay, Lix, it’s going to be okay.” Seungmin reassured him. And the strangest thing? Felix believed him. Sure, that could be desperation or blood loss, but Seungmin wasn’t one to lie or to embellish harsh truths.
Even if Felix liked to believe that, yeah, he wouldn’t tell him he would end as a midnight snack for a Wolf as big as a massive bear right out of a fairytale.
“Let me get to him, Alpha, he’s mine, too.” Jisung started again, this time more begging than anything.
“Jisung!” Minho growled the same moment the Wolf in front of him moved and Felix grabbed the fur tighter.
“Don’t hurt him!” He yelled again, clinging to that fur, and the Wolf settled again, something like worry mixing into his growl.
Okay, so Felix had definitely lost his mind here.
“Bokkie?”
“Just go, I’m-”
“We’re not leaving you!” Jisung hissed and there was a sound, almost as if someone - Minho - had smacked him.
“Next time he moves, let him, okay?”
“Let him?”
“Do it!” His Hyung ordered, which made the Wolf growl again.
“Hyung-”
“It’s okay, Bokkie, trust me.”
Swallowing, Felix felt tears prickle at the corner of his eyes. That these would be the first tears were a surprise - then again, he hadn’t had time for them before, had he?
The moment the first tear rolled down his cheek, there went an audible ripple through the people in the room. And through the Wolf, the ripple had also been palpable as the massive body flinched, as if it had wanted to move around but stopped itself at the last second.
“Let me look after our Omega, Alpha, please.” Jisung begged again, and this time Felix didn’t hold onto the Wolf when it moved. Not much, just enough for him to take half a step forward.
Enough for a slim and light body to press itself between the Wolf and the wall towards the corner.
Enough for Jisung to sling his arms around him.
Burrowing closer to his sunshine twin, something in Felix broke, the tears falling more freely now, soaking Jisung’s naked shoulder as he pressed his face into it.
“Sungie?” Minho called out, something far too close to panic ringing in his voice.
“He’s okay. You’re okay, Lix, we’re going to make it okay, I swear to you.” Jisung pressed a kiss to his uninjured shoulder, the closest point of contact he could reach while they were both pressed into the corner again.
“Can you get back a bit? Lix and I can barely breathe over here.”
The Wolf relaxed a little just a moment later, so he was sure that both Minho and Seungmin had backed off some.
“Lix.”
Nuzzling closer, Felix exhaled wetly onto Jisung’s bare skin.
“Lix, please look at me.”
Swallowing, Felix leaned back enough to meet Jisung’s eyes. Jisung’s beautiful eyes that he’d seen smiling bright from laughter, and angry like a rattlesnake. His eyes that could be so expressive, as if there was not a single secret in him.
He’d never seen that almost animalistic tint to them. Hadn’t ever seen them this sharp.
“You’re one, too.” He whispered, barely understanding what he was saying here. Barely understanding what his instincts were screaming at him.
Jisung stiffened.
“I… what’s happening?” He whispered desperately because the jumbled thoughts in his mind, soaked in fear and disbelief, must be the overactive part of his brain that, probably as a trauma response, spewed the most unbelievable conclusion at him.
“We were attacked. Chan-hyung would never willingly hurt you.”
The air he had just tried to inhale got stuck in his throat as he stared at Jisung. Not allowing his mind to work with that information.
Not allowing puzzle pieces slotting together.
Not allowing the thought of Chan-hyung bit me to form in his brain.
“Bokkie, it’s going to be okay.”
Shaking his head, no matter that Minho wouldn’t be able to see him, Felix closed his eyes, desperately begging to wake up.
Despite the biting pain in his shoulder.
“Lixie, we wanted to explain but-”
“Stop.” It was barely a whisper but the room, that had still been filled with quiet whines and growls fell into silence.
The only thing he heard was his heartbeat thrumming in his ears.
No. No, no, no, no, nonononononono-
“Lix, breathe in.”
Flinching away from the touch, Felix unwillingly pressed himself closer to the Wolf.
Before he knew what happened, he was trapped against the wall, pushed away from the corner and scratches all around his sides and arms were the only proof just a heartbeat before he’d been hugged by Jisung.
The growl was back. That low, brutal, horrible growl.
“No.” The desperate whimper was over his lips before he could stop it - not that he was in control enough to even think about it.
All he knew was the fear in his chest. Fear and confusion and desperation.
The Wolf froze in front of him; the growl losing some of the viciousness, a new tone of desperation in it, too.
Felix recognized it. Recognized it because it was the same thing clawing in his own throat.
“Please… please Hyung…” the sob interrupted him, but only for a heartbeat before he pressed more words out. “Don’t hurt them.”
“Lixie…” Jisung whispered, the same desperation in his voice, too.
Because he liked Felix. They were the sunshine twins. They might only know each other for a few months, but they were friends.
Nothing compared to Chan and Jisung though, because the two have known each other for years. Had been living together for years.
Because they were a pack. A family.
A shiver ran down his spine.
All of them were a pack. All of them were-
“Omega.” It was a breathless whisper, while something cold slipped into his gut, almost freezing all the horror he was feeling.
The worst thing, aside from the impossible realization, he just had? Who knew reading ABO fanfics would save my life one day.
Maybe being eaten right now wouldn’t be the worst thing that could happen today.
“Lix, calm down. We can explain everything, but right now you need to be calm.” Seungmin said, his voice almost cold. Precise. Trying to shake Felix out of the life altering realization that his roommates were part of the apparently existing magical world he’d thought only lived in fairy tales and stories and very pornographic fanfics.
“Calm.” He huffed. “Sure, let me be calm while my whole world view shatters.”
“Not your whole world view, you knew we considered you… family.” Minho said, forcibly light, as if that would help in any way.
“Family! Not pack!”
Chan growled at that, and Felix froze again.
“Short summary: we were attacked by hunters. They shot Chan with a tranquilizer gun, but there was something else in that. He’s much more beast than man right now, and he thinks he needs to protect you.” Seungmin said as soon as the growl had subsided some.
“But… shouldn’t he know you’re… you?”
“He does, or he would have killed us when we stepped foot into the house.” Minho said matter of factly, as if that was helping in any way.
It wasn’t.
“But you’re his precious human, so we’re potentially dangerous to you.”
“But-”
“Jisung is a Beta.”
“Holy fuck.” If it turned out that Ao3 was actually right about all of this, Felix would willingly go into a psychiatric ward. He was not prepared to live in a world in which the unhinged ABO stories were a reality.
“That’s what is deserving of a holy fuck?” Jisung asked, a pout in his voice.
Opening his mouth - and unsure what to say to that - he was interrupted with another growl. That one back to low and deathly.
“What-”
“Just the others.” Seungmin said, calmingly.
As if that made any sense at all.
“Angel!” Hyunjin yelled, loud and panicked.
Ready to grab onto Chan’s fur with all the strength he had - no matter that that wouldn’t be enough for anything or that it hurt his shoulder - he nearly fell over when the massive Wolf in front of him moved immediately to let Hyunjin through.
“What-”
Hyunjin was on him, streaks of dirt on his beautiful skin, before he could say anything, worry and anger on his face, already trying to rip Felix’s shirt off when he managed to grab Hyunjin’s hand, which finally made the other stop.
“Jinnie?”
“You’re okay, Angel.” Jinnie leaned forward, pressing his forehead against his own. “Everything is going to be okay, I promise you. Channie-hyung is going to calm down and then we can all apologize to you until you forgive us and you’re going to be an knowing member of the pack and-”
“Hyunjin!” Minho called, as if trying to stop him, not that Hyunjin seemed to care in the slightest.
“-then everything will be perfect, okay?” He let his long fingers run through Felix’s hair, making Felix feel the tremble in his hands.
Narrowing his eyes, he saw the panic and desperation there.
“We’ll be able to stick together and I can finally drag you into our nest and you’ll understand and I’m no longer alone and-”
“Hyunjin!” Minho growled, provoking Chan to start growling again, vicious and bloodthirsty.
“I… you’re an Omega, too?” Felix asked, only realizing after that he seemingly had already accepted that fact as if it wasn’t the most outlandish thing ever.
“Yes, Wolf-born though. You’re much more special, Angel.” He pressed a kiss to Felix’s cheek.
“I… that… what?”
“Please stop breaking Felix-hyung’s brain, Jinnie. He needs it.” Jeongin said, something like a laugh in his voice that was more than unnecessary right now.
Instead of answering, Hyunjin pressed another kiss to Felix’s cheek. “It’s going to be okay, Angel.”
“Sure. I mean, why shouldn’t it be okay? Wait…” He hesitated, his head still spinning in a thousand directions at the same time. “Is that the reason you asked me to move in? Because I’m… an Omega?” He could hear the dejection in his voice.
What he hadn’t anticipated, though, was the way Chan immediately started to whine.
“No, Angel, of course not!” Hyunjin sounded desperate again. “I knew we would fit the second I saw you because you’re you. Because you’re so bright and kind and beautiful.”
“Don’t forget vicious.” Changbin said, a low approving tone in his voice.
“I…” The first time he’d met Hyunjin, he’d been grocery shopping and had seen some teenagers bullying a younger boy. He’d ran up to them to tell them to fuck off, despite the fact he looked basically their age.
Changbin and Hyunjin had seen him when they had just ordered coffee on the other side of the street and ran out to help - at that point, he’d already won against the teens with his taekwondo skills - which wasn’t as impressive as it sounded.
He’d then told the teens to never do it again and, in front of everyone, had given the bullied kid his phone number and told him to call him anytime if they were going to bully him again.
When he’d turned around again, to collect his bag, he’d looked up into two faces, both full of excitement and glee. They had dragged him back into the coffee shop and bought him cake.
That was about five months ago.
Five months of getting to know everyone until he’d moved in a few weeks later.
Like a fucking fool.
“Angel?”
Focusing his glance back at Hyunjin’s eyes, where before he’d stared unseeingly at his naked shoulder, Felix decided to, right now, not give a fuck. Right now, he wanted this night to end, and he wanted his shoulder to be treated and he wanted pain medication and he wanted to go to sleep and hopefully wake up in a world in which Ao3 tropes weren’t real.
He also decided to not react to the fact that Hyunjin was naked. Or that he wasn’t wearing a shirt. Thinking about it, Jisung hadn’t been wearing a shirt either. And no, he did not have the mental capacity to check if Hyunjin was wearing pants. That was just… no.
First things first.
“I… what can we do to get Hyung back?”
The silence following his rather straightforward question was deafening.
“…we don’t know.” Changbin finally said, with something close to begging in his voice.
Staring at Hyunjin, there was a similar apology in his eyes.
“Okay… so… what’s your plan then?” He asked, optimistically - desperately - because they knew about this world. They were part of this world. They had to know what to do right now, right?
The silence all around him was, once again, deafening.
“Guys?”
“Everything is going to be okay, Lixie.” Jisung called from somewhere behind the massive Wolf that had bitten Felix and threatened to kill Jisung because his human brain had gone bye-bye.
Was it just him or did that sentence sound more and more desperate every time they repeated it?
“Okay, let’s say I believe you.” He called out loud enough for everyone to hear. Although they were Werewolves. They could probably hear his heartbeat. The important part, though, was that they made a plan. Everything else - especially his meltdown - could happen after that.
“You have a massive pack Alpha pressing you into the wall, I think-”
“Not about the Wolf thing, Hyung.” He cut Minho off harshly. “About the okay thing, because, and this is not supposed to be criticism here, I’m bleeding more than before you started to help.”
Hyunjin flinched at that, as if Felix had struck him.
Chan immediately started whining again, whether for him or for Hyunjin, Felix didn’t know.
And right now, he also didn’t care. Right now, the only important thing was survival. Also, not breaking down screaming, but he could probably summarize that under survival.
He was not about to have a discussion about that in his head while his world around him crumbled and an oversized crazed puppy tried to squish him into the wall.
Inhaling carefully, because his slightly nihilistic sarcasm was coming through - which was always a bad sign.
“Angel?” Hyunjin whispered softly. His hands still, on Felix, warm and reassuring. Protective.
“I know. I know.” He sighed, straightening his spine, even if he wanted nothing more than to just sag into Hyunjin’s arm. To feel the warm skin. To calm him down.
Back to the matters at hand: He did know. Despite everything, despite not having been told that hey, you know we’re Magical Creatures and so are you, right? he knew they wouldn’t hurt him. He knew they liked him. He knew they were trying their best.
But this was new for them, too, wasn’t it? Seungmin had said they didn’t know what Chan had been shot with so they had probably never seen or heard of it because there was no way that Seungmin, Chan, or Minho would rest before they knew everything about something that could potentially harm them like this.
That meant they were out of their depths, most likely having split up after the attack and…
“Everyone else is okay, right?” He asked, only now realizing he had never asked and some panic worming itself into his gut, right beside the fear and panic about everything else.
There were some dry chuckles as Hyunjin sighed, leaning forward, resting his forehead on Felix’s uninjured shoulder.
That was nice, feeling Hyunjin’s warmth - how had he never thought more about the fact that all of them were furnaces for fuck’s sake? It also pressed more of Hyunjin’s body to him and yeah, Jinnie was naked alright. The only layer of fabric holding their skin apart was his very flimsy pajama pants.
“Yeah, Lix, we’re okay.” Changbin said, something like fond exasperation in his voice, getting him out of his spiral before he could actually fall into another depth of his mind.
That was good then. One thing less for Felix to not freak out about.
“Okay, I… I’m still trying to…”
“Deep breaths, Hyung.” Jeongin called out, this time his voice soft and sweet. “You’re not going insane, even if you might want to think so right now.”
Jeongin had always been too perceptive.
“And only to calm you down, because I know you read fanfics, you’re not going to start leaking slick anytime soon.”
Jeongin was also an asshole.
There was a loud thud and a yelp all the while Chan in front of them moved slightly, a new growl introducing into the mix of noise and Hyunjin yelled an angry Jeongin!
Felix had not missed the constant growling.
He’d also hoped that while he desperately tried to stay calm and focused, that wouldn’t be part of the conversation.
“If anyone starts to talk about knots, I will make Hyung eat them.”
“No, Angel, most of that is bullshit! Misunderstandings, and propaganda and porn-crazed-” Hyunjin said, grabbing his hand, pressing down a bit uncomfortably on the scratches in them.
“Not right now, Jin-Jin.” Minho called out from the other side of the massive black Wolf between them.
“Jeongin started it!”
“For fuck’s sake you can tell him everything about the inequality the stereotypes are promoting after Chan-hyung is back to himself and we cleaned Lix’s wound!” Jisung yelled with an annoyance that soothed a bit of the uproar in Felix’s mind.
But Hyunjin didn’t give up that easily.
“We’re not lesser.” He said, squeezing his hands again and not for the first time, Felix saw that particular fire burning in his eyes. “We’re not weak. We’re as clever and strong and as protective as the others, no matter that they sometimes act as if we’re breakable. We’re not.” It was a promise and an oath and a battle cry.
Standing in front of him, bleeding from one big and several small wounds after having been fucking bitten by their Hyung - apparently while trying to protect him - Felix felt something in himself click into place. Some understanding he hadn’t even known he was lacking.
“Okay.” He nodded.
It seemed so logical and right to just trust Hyunjin. To just accept everything he said. And why shouldn’t he? Hyunjin even more so than the others had always been beside him. Protecting, almost psychically knowing what he needed.
Because they were both Omegas?
The fact that he didn’t start hysterically laughing right then and there was probably the most worrying sign of going insane ever.
Ignoring the chatter for right now, he held on tightly to Hyunjin’s hand, trying to think of anything helpful. Of anything-
“They, the others the… the Alphas and Betas, they bend easier to our will when we ask them for something, right?” He asked, ignoring who he’d interrupted his eyes on Hyunjin’s.
It was something he’d noticed even before moving in. Aside from the official hierarchy dictated by South Korean Culture™, there were other rules in place in their home. Some most likely because Chan, too, was from Australia, and made sure their maknae was always heard and looked after.
There had also been other rules. Unspoken ones that Felix had just slotted into. One was that Hyunjin and he were able to get almost anything from all of them, just by asking for it. Jisung and Changbin had almost the same privilege, although they needed to beg more or act cuter. Chan, Minho, Seungmin, and Jeongin carried an air around them that seemed to demand respect and that people listened to them, despite that two of them were literally the youngest out of the group.
Hyunjin frowned at him, as if not sure what that had to do with anything and probably already riling up to tell him that, too, was instinct or stereotypes, but Felix knew what he’d seen and lived through.
Fuck it.
Squeezing Hyunjin’s hands, either to reassure himself or Hyunjin - or both - he cleared his voice. “Hyung?” He asked as sweetly as he could.
Wolf-Chan moved, a whine slipping out of him.
Okay, good start, but he could ramp that up, right?
“Alpha?” He tried again, coaxing and sweetly.
“Bokkie-” Minho started, but Felix ignored him.
“I’m so thankful that you protected me.” He said cheerily happy, swearing to himself he was going to punch Chan as soon as he was human again. “Because we’re pack, right?”
Wolf-Chan made a happy trilling noise in his throat that made no sense coming from a massive predator just like him.
“That’s wonderful. I’m really happy being stuck here against the wall, I really am, but I would like to lay down on something even more comfortable,” he said, adding a, “to cuddle with you, Alpha.”
“Ah, Felix-” Changbin started, but he ignored him just like Minho.
“Yes!” Hyunjin almost yelled, before changing his voice to the suggestive purr he used so well. “I want cuddles, too, Alpha. Please let me show our Lixie the nest? Please, Alpha.”
Wolf-Chan had moved a little more, giving them some more room, making the same content thrilling noise.
“We’ve created monsters.” Seungmin said deadpan before Jisung cut in.
“I want cuddles, too, Alpha, please?”
“Allow me to prepare the nest, Alpha. You want us warm and comfortable and safe, don't you?” Changbin asked sweetly as well, even if not as put upon as the others had.
Chan made a sound a bit like an agreeing yip.
Taking his hands back, Felix clapped them, drawing most attention back to him, despite the way his shoulder protested. Biting back the wince, he looked at Hyunjin and nodded to Chan’s back.
Together they put their hands in his fur and pushed.
It didn’t do a damn thing, of course, but Chan moved a little more and Felix was almost sure that if his tail wasn’t also pressed against the wall, it would have wagged.
“Come on Alpha, please? I wanna lay down and cuddle.” He begged again. Even if Chan didn’t comprehend words right now - and it seemed he understood enough - he obviously reacted to their voices. Which was absolutely and without question the only reason that Felix let some of the exhaustion bleed into his voice.
“Please, Alpha, I'm tired.”
“Let us help Lixie.” Jisung coaxed.
Chan moved and the only reason Felix didn’t faceplant as soon as the weight wasn’t any longer pressing him against the wall was Hyunjin, who caught him at the last minute, jostling his shoulder.
Biting back the hiss as best as he could, he flinched back when a wet and cold nose was pushed into his face.
Opening his eyes that he must have closed while keeping in the pain, he was met with big dark eyes that, despite being 100% Wolf, were clearly worried
He had his hand in the fur of his face before his thoughts even caught up. “I know, Hyung, I know.”
After that, everything happened surprisingly fast. Hyunjin and Jisung helped him down the hall into Chan’s bedroom, which was probably three rooms combined with knocked down walls. Additionally, to a human bed, a desk and some other normal things for a bedroom, there was a massive pile of pillows and mattresses and blankets in the middle of the room.
Felix, who by now was barely able to stand on his own two feet, just accepted it. He did not accept though, that all of the others were naked and had tried to cuddle close to him naked.
Despite being close to just drop unconscious, know that his adrenaline was dropping, he’d ordered that everyone close to him had to wear pants.
Thankfully, they had accepted it. Probably because, at that point, Felix hadn’t been able to keep the pain out of his voice any longer.
Changbin, who had rushed out of the living room before anyone else, had placed some clean towels in the middle of the comfortable pile, before getting pants for himself, Jisung and Hyunjin.
The others - the Alphas, his brain offered very unhelpfully - stayed back, allowing Chan to guard the Omegas and Betas of his pack.
Being settled down on the cushions, Felix ignored the whispered worry above him. Yes, he knew he’d lost blood. Yes, he knew Jisung hadn’t meant to scratch him all up. Yes, he knew he was pale and looked like death warmed up.
Laying down, done with the threat at the moment, his adrenaline was crashing and the exhaustion and pain was catching up with him completely.
“I have the First Aid kit.”
Opening his eyes he saw Seungmin, wearing a proper pair of jeans, in the open door between Minho, who was leaning far too leisurely against the door frame, jogging pants hanging very lowly on his hips, and Jeongin, who’d sat down against the other part of the doorframe criss-cross applesauce in boxers, looking at the happenings as if it was a very interesting drama.
Maybe he would punch all of them as soon as he was back on his feet. Except for Seungmin, maybe.
“And some pain killers for Lixie.”
That settled it: he would punch everyone except Seungmin.
“You’re my new favorite.” He said, his voice strained and showing far too much of the pain he was feeling right now.
Chan, who had been standing outside of the nest, protectively, immediately moved closer, almost pressing his snout against his sluggishly bleeding shoulder, but thankfully Jisung pressed his hands against the wet nose.
“No, Alpha. Enough of that. Let us treat Lixie.” Jisung said rather sternly.
Chan whined, but laid down in front of them, his eyes on Felix.
The fact that watching the predator who just about an hour earlier - if that - mauled him, had now all of his considerable concentration on him and Felix wasn’t fainting because of it, seemed to be a good sign.
Or he really had lost his mind now. One of the two.
Changbin emerged from the pillow pile and walked over to Seungmin. He took the First Aid kit and a bottle of water from him, kissing Seungmin’s lips before going back to Hyunjin, who was already cleaning the blood off Felix’ skin with soft and careful movements.
Biting down on the hiss already in his throat, Felix stared at the small smile on Seungmin’s lips.
Wait.
Opening his mouth to ask why he didn’t know Changbin and Seungmin were dating. Or possibly making sure his suspicions weren’t confirmed.
Because there was no way he’d been living with seven people who were secretly Werewolves and in a relationship with each other without realizing either of it, right?
Right?
The sudden biting sting in his shoulder came so suddenly he couldn’t keep in the pained hiss.
Wolf-Chan immediately growled, but it sounded more reprimanding than threatening.
“Hey, if you hadn’t bitten him, I wouldn’t have to clean his shoulder!” Hyunjin said, glaring at Chan until he settled down again, whining.
Hyunjin, as soon as Chan had calmed down, leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Felix’s forehead, mumbling apologies for having to disinfect the wound - that was, thankfully, just superficial.
Felix, though, was currently on a totally different train of thoughts that, not gonna lie, was taking him far away places. Far far away places.
He loved skinship, so he’d been more than happy to accept the touches and hugs and being nuzzled and buried under warm bodies. Jisung and Jinnie both liked to kiss him. They liked to kiss everyone on the cheeks and lips or make remarks. Suggestive remarks.
The others, even Binnie, who’d been happy to hold on to Felix for hours, his chin on Felix’s shoulder all the while, never had tried to kiss him. They had never kissed each other. There had never been any obvious hint for all of them to be in a polyamorous relationship.
There hadn’t been. Not one single hint.
Aside from the skinship. And…sleeping in each other’s arms. Those few times, they had come ruffled out of each other’s bedrooms. Hyunjin and Jisung sometimes obviously teasing the other members, especially those that Felix was rather sure were Alphas…
But aside from that? Not a single hint.
At this point, he was probably not even going to be surprised if the others told him they had regular orgies here in this very nest while he was baking brownies.
Oh fuck, that was actually a possibility, wasn’t it?
“Angel?” Hyunjin was leaning over him, one thumb very carefully rubbing over his cheek. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, Lixie, you smell… agitated.” The undertone in Jisung’s voice was enough for Felix to decide to throw himself out of the big window just opposite of him. Sure, they were only on the first floor, but he was sure with his current luck he’d manage to at least get a concussion worse enough to forget all about this.
“Don’t tease him, Sungie.” Changbin chided, calmly, one hand patting Felix’s leg calmly. “Maybe let him heal before you start wanting to involve him with that.”
“Aren't you all a bit too optimistic?” Minho called from the door, despite the relaxed expression on his face. “He’s obviously in shock, who knows whether or not Bokkie will stay here?”
“Hyung!” Jisung called out scandalized, making Chan turn his head around to probably stare dangerously at Minho - not that he seemed worried in the slightest.
“I’m just saying. Bokkie has no obligation to stay here. He has no obligation to forgive us.” Minho met his eyes, raising his chin just the slightest bit. “We will not keep you here if you don’t want to be here.”
The silence after was deafening again, but this time everyone was staring at him, even Wolf-Chan. Felix just kept his eyes on Minho.
Minho, who could seem so cold and hard but was one of the most considerate people he knew. Someone who would always say the harsh truths to get to the bottom of whatever it was just to make sure everyone was fine.
“He’s right, Lix. If… if it’s necessary I’m sure we could get you out now.” Seungmin said, his voice calm and void of any emotion. Either to not tip off Chan or because he didn’t want to show what he would think about it if Felix left and didn’t come back.
“Thank you.” He murmured. Not because he wanted to take that offer - he was not going to let Channie-hyung maul them to death - but because for the first time since being awoken so brutally, he’d been offered a choice.
“Do you want us to get you out?” Jeongin asked, tilting his head to the side, his eyes flashing over the others hunkered over him.
There was not a single doubt in Felix that they would let him go if he wanted them to. That wouldn’t change though that Hyunjin and Jisung were holding onto him tighter.
“No…” He swallowed. Whatever happened from now on, he’d demand in-depth explanation, background information and possibly peer-reviewed answers, but that was all he wanted to change right now.
“No, I think I am where I want to be.”
