The Gacha System

Summary:

Felix has no idea what's going on, but he does know one thing. He now has a System that can make him extremely powerful or can royally screw him over. But then again, that's the fun of it, is it? Inspired by The Dark Wolf Shiro.

Chapter Text

Well, here we go again with another fic. I never learn, do I? Anyways, this fic was inspired by the man himself, The Dark Wolf Shiro. If you haven't read any of his fics, do yourself a favor and do so. They are kinda like my fics, except way better and what seems MUCH more planned out. Also, back to RWBY! Yay!

I don't own RWBY or any other franchise that may pop up. Please support all official releases.

Felix's POV

"What the hell?" I mutter as I look at the floating blue box in front of me.

Welcome to the Gacha System!

"The fuck is that? Better yet, where the hell am I? Why can't I remember anything?" I say as I continue to stare at the blue box, trying to remember anything, which was not much. At all.

All I knew was my name and some other basic things, such as how to walk, talk, eat, and stuff of the like. Anything from shows to books or even my parents' names, however… I was shit out of luck on that front.

Major Curse discovered: Amnesia. Two rolls granted! Would you like to take another Major Curse for two more rolls, a Minor Curse for one roll, or an Ultimate Curse for three rolls?

"Again, what is that? What are these rolls? Curses?" I called out and all I got was the sound of silence from the void around me.

"You know what, forget it. I'll figure it out myself." I say as I rub my head and try to make heads and tails of my situation.

It was not going well.

I have no idea what this "system" was talking about, but thankfully I do know what Gacha and Curses are, so I'm not starting out completely blind there.

I can reasonably guess that rolls are for me to get something. What that is, however, is another question entirely.

"Can I still take on curses after I roll?" I asked one of the most important questions.

No.

Well, at least it was to the point.

Now, the smart thing to do would be to take my two rolls and run to the hills with them and curse (pun intended) this offer and be on with it.

"Give me another Major and one Minor Curse." I'm, however, not a smart person.

Major Cursed added: Eventful Start. Minor Curse added: Lustful.

Eventful Start: Most people have a quiet day when they arrive somewhere new. That is not you. Once done here, you will be thrown into the thick of it right off the bat. We hope you survive!

Lustful: Straight men love women. You REALLY love women. Good news? They will like you as well. Bad news? You can fall to their machinations real easy. We hope you don't get Honey Potted! Note: Can be converted into a boon.

Well, it could be worse, but it still sucked, especially that first one. Speaking of, these ones had descriptions to go along with them. Wonder why that is?

"Hey, system, what are boons?" I ask.

Boons are when complete missions get rid of a curse, turning them from a detriment into something useful. Some Curses, however, can not be made into a boon for one reason or another. Your "Eventful Start" is one such case.

Well, good to know I suppose. Can I still take on more Curses?

No.

Figures. I was maybe going to take on another Minor Curse, but it seems like I won't have that chance.

Say, System, how do I get more rolls?

By accomplishing feats or missions.

Suppose I'll have to figure that out on my own?

Yes.

Alright then.

That sucked, not having all the information right away, but surprise is the spice of life, I guess.

"Alright, system, let's get this show moving." I call out and cross my fingers, praying that my name lives up to its meaning.

Rolled: Major Curse, Minor Curse, Rare Power, Uncommon Miscellaneous, and Legendary Menagerie.

Major Curse: Uber Grimm: Salem has been cooking up some devious beasties over her years, and she is about to release them. Prepare for carnage, for it is coming. We hope you don't die.

Minor Curse: Wrong Place, Wrong Time: You seem to have a knack for appearing at the worst inopportune you can, mainly leading to a bunch of fights. We hope you don't get punched in the face! Note: Can be converted into a boon.

Force Sensitivity (Very High): No, Luke, I am your father! Quite appropriate considering your natural attunement to the force, even rivaling the Chosen One himself with sheer raw power. You still have to train for those abilities though, and to throw some gravy on top, you won't receive Dark Side Corruption when using the Dark Side! Go you!

Uncommon Miscellaneous: Dungeon: Added to pocket dimension. Every great place needs somewhere to store prisoners, and that's exactly what you have now!

Legendary Menagerie: Cerberus: The Three Headed Dog that guards the Gates of Hades itself. Standing at forty feet tall, and able to spew lava from its mouth, it's no reason why Hades Gate's haven't been opened.

Well, I must admit, those first two made my heart sink straight to the very bottom of my stomach, and while they suck, especially that Uber Grimm one (whatever the hell that is, and who is Salem?). But then it did a complete one eighty when I got to my Rare Power, and especially my last one.

Already I can feel an energy flowing through me that wasn't there before like tidal waves, making me feel like I can do anything. Add on top of that, the next moment a truly gargantuan three headed black dog appeared next to me, staring straight into my soul.

It was honestly very intimidating, and it had me on edge… for all of about five seconds.

Next thing I know, it began panting very happily before flopping on its back, exposing its belly to me.

Ok, that is very cute.

"Oh, that's a good boy, yes he is, yes he is." I immediately start babying the giant three headed dog that guards Hell itself and begin scratching at the heads of the dogs. Surprisingly, the fur was pretty soft considering the insane amount of muscle that this dog was packing, but I sure wasn't going to complain.

Prepare for teleportation.

Seriously, right now? Ah well, right into the thick of it, I guess.

Turning back to Cerberus, I spoke, "Alright boy, it seems like there is going to be a fight. Hey, system, will Cerberus be summoned with me?"

No, he will be sent to your pocket dimension where he can either enter your Dungeon, or relax on the flat plains that make up all of it at the moment.

"Can I summon him right when I get there?"

Yes.

Alright, that's good to know.

Refocusing my attention back on the three headed dog, I spoke once more, "I'll summon you if I need to boy. You just relax in the pocket dimension for now."

I got a single woof of acknowledgment from each of the three heads. Wait, wouldn't that be three diff-

Transporting now.

Before I could finish the thought, my vision suddenly went, and not long later, my sight returned back to me.

Looking around my surroundings, I saw that I was in a clearing of some kind, flaked by green trees and grass with a nice breeze flowing through my black hair; the afternoon Sun shining down on me.

Huh, this was actually quite nice. I wonder where my "warm welcome" is.

I got my answer soon after when the sound of growls and roars reached my ears, as out from the forest, in all directions, I was surrounded by black beasts in bone-white armor, eyes red as rage, and if this "force" thing is to be believed, a whole lot more of them are coming as well.

I really need to shut my mouth, don't I?

Taiyang's POV

"What's got them so riled up?" He couldn't help but voice as the sounds of battle raged on in the distance.

Everything was business as usual not even five minutes ago. He was back at home, spending time with both his daughters before they were to go to Beacon in two weeks. He couldn't express how proud he was of them, especially for Ruby who had gotten in two years early! Granted, he was not amused at the fact that she got into a fight with Roman and the White Fang, but from her own story and the security cameras backing her up, she didn't really have a choice in the matter, so he wasn't too upset.

He was just getting ready to explain some things they might see in Vale, when out of nowhere, it seemed as if the Grimm went on a rampage of righteous fury.

He'll admit that his heart sank a little when all different kinds of Grimm emerged from the woodline and ran straight towards his house. He was just about to go out and bare knuckle brawl the Grimm due to his weapon being in another room when the strangest thing happened. The Grimm, who are known to attack people without prejudice, ran right by his house.

Naturally, that got his immediate attention, as whatever/whoever they were focusing on must be pretty damn important, and with the amount of Grimm that he saw along the way, they sure as hell were going to need help in taking them down.

He quickly put on his Huntsman gear and retrieved his weapon, and not two minutes after this all started, he was out the door, tailing the Grimm and killing whatever ones he could along the way.

"Seriously, what's got them so mad?" He couldn't help but question again in wonder as roars from all kinds of Grimm continued to roar out. Ursa, Beowolves, Boarbatusks, Nevermores, and even King Taijitu. The list went on.

"Whatever it is, I'm getting close. I just hope I'm not late." He could tell he was close as the roars from the Grimm were getting more and more pronounced, making him tighten his grip on his nunchucks even harder.

Not long later, he came upon a clearing where the Grimm were congregating, and what he saw shocked him.

There, in the middle of it all stood a boy, no older than Yang. His face was set in a grimace as he had a hand raised, and along with it, a few Grimm.

If that itself wasn't a shock to him, the next thing was, as with a gesture, the boy flung the captured the Grimm around with all the care of a little girl throwing a doll in a tantrum, causing the snarling beasts to slam into, and even kill one another.

Grimm ash flowed in the air like it was water, and even from his vantage point it was hard to see what was going on. That was not the case for the boy, however, as he seemed to be perfectly in tune with his surroundings, capturing Grimm in his invisible clutches and either crushing them with a grip of his hands or flinging them into one another.

But it was clear as day that he was getting tired, if the sweat pouring down his eyebrows had anything to say. However, amazingly, it seemed as if he was winning.

The Grimm were numbering less and less by the second. All their heavy hitters were down for the count, with only a few Ursa and Beowolves left.

Just as it seemed that he was about to finish the last of them off, the thing he was dreading happened.

He fell to his knees. And the Grimm were going to exploit that weakness as the rest all charged him at once.

Cursing himself for being inactive, he sprung into action, but he could tell that he was going to be too late. The boy was going to die.

Just as he resigned himself to accepting his death, the unthinkable happened.

The boys eyes came to life, and he saw nothing but anger in them. He leapt into the air a couple of feet and closed his limbs on him like a ball, and with a scream of pure rage that Ruby and Yang probably heard, red lightning exploded from him.

The Grimm, which weren't even a couple of meters away from him, disintegrated.

Not into Grimm ash, no. Quite literally, they ceased to exist, along with a twenty feet radius of scorched black grass from where the explosion came.

It was so powerful, in fact, that he was flung back from the sheer force of it, making him impact a tree. Thankfully, his aura was running or that may very well have killed him instead of shocking him for a bit.

He quickly sprang to his feet though and rushed towards the boy, who was on the verge of passing out.

Just as he was collapsing, he caught him.

"Don't worry I got you." The boy looked up at him with half lidded eyes, a small smile on his face.

"And here I was hoping a beautiful girl would catch me." He got out, making us both chuckle.

"Well, I may not be a beautiful girl, but I'm here." He shot back, making the kid grin even more.

"What's your name, sir?" He asked.

"Taiyang Xiao Long, and you?"

"Felix, names Felix. Say, can you do me a favor?"

"Sure, what is it?"

"I'm going to pass out. Can you take me somewhere safe?" The question was genuine, and instead of verbally answering, he only smiled and nodded his head yes.

Felix only nodded his head back in confirmation, and with a sigh, he was out like a light.

"Ozpin's definitely going to want to hear about you." He said to himself.

Picking him up, it was only now that he noticed a slight problem.

Felix was naked, and he had two hormonal teenage daughters back at home, and if what little he knew about Felix was true, then he was about to add a horny teenage boy to it, at least for a while.

Surely, nothing will come from it, right?

With a sigh, he resigned himself to having to pay for some clothes, and with a jump, he was out of the clearing, making his way back home with some extra cargo.

There you go. I hope you enjoyed it!

So, fun fact, I got all of this done in one day. I absolutely love my laptop. Writing is so much easier with it.

As I said above, this fic is inspired The Dark Wolf Shiro. Seriously, if you even remotely like something like this or any other my other fics, then I can almost guarantee you'll love his works.

Speaking of Shiro, he was nice enough to explain how he went t about these kinds of fics, so that massively got the story up and running.

For those of you curious, I made a spreadsheet where I then made all the different tiers of rolls. Divine, Mythical, Legendary, Epic, Rare, Uncommon, Common, Junk, Minor Curse, Major Curse, and Ultimate Curse.

Using a D100, I was able to get the different rarity's. 99-100 is Divine. 96-98 is Mythical. 91-95 is Legendary. 81-90 is Epic. 71-80 is Rare. 51-70 is Uncommon. 31-50 is Common. 11-30 is Junk. 6-10 is Minor Curse. 3-5 is Major Curse. And 1-2 is Ultimate Curse.

Another fun fact, the first three curses were already made up and we're going to be implanted no matter what at the beginning. The same can't be said for the next two.

I kid you not, this guy rolled a 3 his first go and then a 10. Funniest shit I've ever seen. Then, he got real lucky rolling a 91, and now he has Hades guard dog. I'm sure that won't be overpowered in Remnant. Not whatsoever.

Moving on, for those of you curious of what the places he is rolling from are, they are Powers, Armory, Menagerie, and Miscellaneous. The only one he didn't roll from was Armory due to bad RNG, I guess. Poor guy.

Another fun fact, I actually rolled again for how force sensitive he was. I kid you not, this guy got three twenty four thousand plus in a roll, technically making him more powerful than Anikan. So, I went with. Now, we have a Chosen One in Remnant who also has the dog that guards Hell. We're off to a great start, it seems.

Next on the agenda, if you have any suggestions for stuff to be in the rolls, then please, shoot them my way. There is a really high chance that it gets added, and who knows, it may very well get added and he might get it sometime!

Also, let me know what you think of this in the comments. Be blunt about it if you wish. Half the fun of this is reading your guy's comments, so please, don't be afraid to ask!

But, that's all I've got for you for now. So, until next time, and have an amazing day!
