Work Text:
Becca usually stays at work longer than she needs to. After all, she is an excellent employee. She takes her job at Assembly Plan Insurance seriously. Very seriously. She shows up a half hour before work starts, not a hair out of place. She does her work. She has her mandated breaks. She never leaves early. She never has. In her seven years of working here, she has never once been late, nor has she ever left early. Most of her coworkers couldn’t say the same. Like Mindy. GOD she hated Mindy. Becca hated her stupid smirk and her dry salads. She wasn’t even that dedicated. And they made her manager? Everything keeps getting worse.
Today, she has stayed an hour longer than she needs to. Yes, she would love to go home, but she feels like there’s unfinished business here to take care of. Everyone else is long gone. No one bats an eye when she stays later than normal. Janitorial staff might come by later, but all of her coworkers have gone home. The overhead lights are off, but there’s still enough light from the window. The sun is beginning to set, and she stands at the window to just watch for a minute. It's nice to have time alone, and to breathe without her coworkers so close.
Her mind wanders back to her interaction with the airline representative. The nasty airline representative. How dare she be spoken to this way? She followed the rules exactly. Why is she being punished?
She hates her. Becca positively hates her. She doesn’t even know her name, but she hates her. Just like she hates Mindy. No, no. It was a different hate than her hate for Mindy. In fact, this isn’t at all like Mindy.
She had hated that the airline representative was being so difficult. She hated her sneer, and her contempt. She hated her big brown eyes, She hated the gloss on her lips. She hated her stupid heart necklace. She hated how beautiful her legs were. And how perfect her hands were. And how much she wants those hands to snake up her—
Becca swiveled on her foot and stomped back to her desk, shaking that last thought out of her head. She is going to continue the fight. An insurance representative like her doesn’t give up that easily. She’s walking back onto the battlefield, and she’s going to win.
She redials the number, which barely rings before being picked up. “Hello?”
“I would like to cancel my flight.”
“Oh. It’s you again.”
“Yeah, it’s me,” Becca snaps back. “I want to cancel my flight.”
“Yeah I bet you do.” the voice replies, low and smooth.
“You know I do,” Becca corrects. Her chair is then forcefully spun around and she was suddenly face to face with her match. Delicate hands gripped onto the arms of her chair, bracketing her. Trapping her.
For a split second, Becca was the prey, staring into the beautiful, dark eyes of her predator. Becca’s eye’s lowered as she tilted her head. She wasn’t prey. She wasn’t anyone’s prey. She knew that the other woman knew as much. The woman wasn’t going to attack. They both stood completely still. They were at a standoff.
“Dominique,” the other woman whispers.
“What?”
“My name,” she starts, “is Dominique. I figured we should start off on the same foot.”
Introductions. Okay. This is where they would shake hands, Becca thought. She really wanted to shake Dominique’s hands, or touch them, but they didn’t move from their place. With her arms bracketing Becca in, Dominique rises and stands above Becca, puts a knee on the seat, and looks down. Her dainty heart necklace dangles just above Becca’s face.
Becca stares up at the necklace. She raises her body just enough to capture the silver heart charm in her mouth. She’s not going to rip it. She’s not going to break it. She just keeps it in her mouth, and swirls it across her tongue, staring up at Dominique.
Dominique steps forward so she can sit down on Becca’s lap, so they’re at eye-level as she straddles her. They stare at each other as Dominique gets a little more comfortable, and nestles herself onto Becca. Her hands crawl to the back of the chair and cross each over other behind Becca’s shoulders. Leaning forward, Dominique presses her lips to Becca’s neck. She peppers kisses up behind her ear, and hears Becca’s breath hitch.
Becca’s eyes fall to a close as the charm, cool and slick, slips from her mouth. Her hips buck up involuntarily, and a gasp escapes her. This releases Dominique from her neck. “Sorry,” Becca whispers, barely audible.
“No you’re not,” Dominique purrs back, looking her dead in the eye.
“You’re right. I’m not.” They both lean in and their lips crash together. Becca’s hands find Dominique’s hips, and Dominique’s find Becca’s hair.
Their bodies move in tandem. They both start out assertive. It’s still a competition. They are competitors. What starts as aggressive gradually becomes fiery. They both speed up. Becca’s legs push forward as Dominique grinds on them.
Becca scoots forward on her seat, and slowly slides off the chair, and her stockinged knees hit the gray carpet. She takes Dominique with her, gently lowering her to the ground, resting her softly on her back.
Becca pauses, and slowly takes off her stiff jacket, and sets it next to her chair. She looks back to the other woman with hunger. Now it’s her turn to straddle Dominique. She leans forward and holds herself over the other woman, legs on either side. They resume the kiss, slowing it down but not losing any heat. Their limbs continue to intertwine until they become what feels like a tight sailor’s knot.
They begin to kiss lazily, and take time to look at eachother. They still stay entangled in each other once they stop to rest.
Dominique whispers into Becca’s neck “do you still want to cancel your flight?” and feels Becca nod her head. They gaze at each other. “Okay,” Dominique smiles into their kiss.
After a moment, Dominique adjusts and untangles herself before slipping into Becca’s chair. Becca stares at her from her spot on the carpet a few moments before she lazily crawls over to Dominique. Becca feels Dominique shake the mouse, trying to turn her computer back on, as she presses kisses into shoulder. Just as she starts to suck a mark onto Dominique’s neck, she feels her arm get softly tapped.
“Hey,” Dominique whispers. “I don’t know your login. You have to do this part.”
Becca gets up, and groans “One sec.” She gets up properly, and sits right down in Dominique’s lap. She’s able to concentrate enough to do her login and passcode. She sends a curse under her breath to whoever decided that the company would have a 2-step verification / duo authentication.
Dominique traces patterns up into Becca’s cropped hair and kisses the top of Becca’s shoulder blade, lips touching slivers of skin through her lace blouse.
After Becca gets the right page pulled up, she turns to meet Dominique’s eyes. “What now?” she asks softly.
Dominique leans forward and asks “Do you mind if I pull up my work stuff through your computer?”
“Go ahead,” sighed Becca, pressing a kiss onto her cheek.
Dominique leans forward and reaches around Becca, who leans back, making herself at home on her lap. Becca rests her eyes, and listens to Dominique’s typing.
“Okay, say the number again”
“X. 4. A. J. 3. 3. 3. 3. 9.” Becca relays, punctuating each number with a soft kiss. She watches as Dominique’s spidery fingers dance across her keyboard, perfectly manicured nails clicking on every key.
“Okay so I can cancel your flight. Or maybe” she begins. “I could also add another ticket. And I can move it. Move it a lot closer to now. If you want.”
“I think I would like that. How close?” She smiles and kisses the shell of her ear.
Dominique gazes lovingly at Becca before leaning to kiss her. “However close you want, baby.”
Pulling back a few moments later, Becca asks “You can do that though? Your hands are no longer tied?”
“They can be tied if you want them to be,” Dominique replies, leaving Becca blushing.
“Take me to dinner first, and then we’ll see.”
“I would like that.”
