Vash didn’t often let on, but he absolutely hated when other people touched Nai.
He was fairly certain he hadn’t always been this jealous, nor could he recall exactly when it had started. When Nai first presented as an alpha at fourteen and suddenly all the blushing, newly unveiled omegas— Vash included— couldn’t seem to keep their eyes or hands to themselves? Earlier, as children, when Nai’s friends all used to push and tackle him during playtime and Vash had been forced to sit out because he was deemed too delicate to roughhouse with his missing arm?
It didn’t matter, really, in the grander scheme. Because either way, here he was, stewing to himself and nursing a rapidly warming pint of beer while he watched his least favorite of Nai’s would-be paramours lay a hand on his twin’s shoulder.
Vash could tell from the twitch of Nai’s tail and the subtle set of his ears that he was wary but not especially concerned. Legato was a known entity; a lanky, tight-waisted omega who knew he was attractive and didn’t seem to know how to take no for an answer. He’d brought backup this time, in the form of a beta Vash knew only as Midvalley, and was probably telling some elaborate, heavily-embellished story or other. Supposedly Legato was the son of a trader who’d made his fortune overseas selling mulberry silk, spices, and (it was whispered) far less savory goods, of the enslaved variety.
Nai described him as a social climber. Vash described him as a goddamn asshole who needed to learn to keep his clingy hands to himself.
He sulked, tail curling around the rungs of his stool, and glanced toward the other end of the tavern. Meryl and Milly seemed to be having quite the fine time with Wolfwood, who was regaling them with a tale probably a great deal bawdier than Legato’s. He could join them. Meryl had rolled her eyes at him earlier when he chose to linger at the bar and pout.
“Just keeping an eye on that guy,” he’d muttered when she’d tried to cajole him over. “I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him.”
Nai was too goddamn polite— Vash suspected he liked the attention, the stroke to his ego that came from making Legato work so embarrassingly hard to catch his eye. But he didn’t want Nai to entertain others’ advances. Didn’t want to keep carrying on like they hadn’t finally wound up knotted and clutching each other with whispered confessions in Vash’s bed not a fortnight past.
He knew why Nai was doing this; they’d talked about it. Keeping up appearances was important, at least for now. It wasn’t expressly forbidden to bed down with a littermate, especially for feline-touched, but it wasn’t exactly encouraged, either. If Nai, as the firstborn, wanted to secure their inheritance from Revnant Vasquez, the entrustor of the Saverem will, they needed to keep a low profile until after their twentieth birthday.
They’d turned eighteen only two months ago, and Vash was pretty sure he’d shrivel up and die from longing well before then. Every instinct in him was demanding he shove Legato away from his twin and scent Nai as thoroughly as possible. Hell, convince Nai to take him right here in the pub— stuff him full with that ridiculous knot of his, bite him hard enough to break the skin, seal the deal. Then there’d be no question of who he belonged to.
Nai glanced his way just then, as if sensing his thoughts. Vash froze, eyes locked on his twin. The whole damned tavern ceased to exist as far as he was concerned. Nai meant the glance to appear casual but he was no better than Vash— gaze lingering longer than it should. One of his pale, silky striped ears crooked Vash’s way, betraying his lack of attention towards Legato. Trying to hear Vash’s breath? The telltale beat of his heart? Was he remembering being caught balls-deep inside Vash? Remembering what it felt like to pump him full until his belly bulged with it? Remembering licking the sweat from each other’s necks and kissing feverishly between frantic promises?
Nai tore his gaze away, hiding those pretty glittering opals from Vash once more. But Vash could see the flick of his tail. The rise of his icy blonde hair up the back of his neck. Legato would probably think Nai’s arousal was for him, the dull idiot. But Vash knew better.
One day, they would all know.
Milly eventually dragged him into the booth with everyone else. Wolfwood grinned with sharp canines as Vash sat down with a fresh flagon of ale in tow.
“Bout time your sorry ass came and said hello,” he admonished, though there was very little heat in it. “You really that worried about Prince Charming over there becoming an in-law?”
Wolfwood was the only other hybrid in Vash’s immediate circles, and while they occasionally fought like proverbial cats and dogs, Vash also knew Wolfwood was the one he could count on to start throwing punches, no questions asked if he saw Vash jump on Legato.
“Am I that obvious,” Vash moped, but cheered up immediately when he realized they’d been playing cards. “Ooh! Deal me in?”
“Come on, Stampede,” Meryl said, dry as ever as she shuffled the deck. “I owe you an ass-kicking.”
Vash won three hands in a row before Meryl finally managed to beat him on the fourth— though Wolfwood might have been helping her chest, he wasn’t entirely paying attention at the time.
“Where’d Nai go?” Vash blinked suddenly, glancing around. The pub had begun to fill as the sun sank low on the horizon, and his twin was nowhere to be seen.
Even amongst a crowd as diverse as this one, with folk of all heights and races, decked in everything from leather loincloths to plate armor to the livery of various houses of nobility, Nai always managed to stand out with his fluffy white ears and his striped tail and the intensity of his bearing. Vash cast about for the pale blues and greys of his silken shirt and embroidered jacket, to no avail.
“Ah, he probably just went out for some air,” Wolfwood mumbled around the pipe he was chewing as much as smoking. “He’s a big kid, he can fend for himself.”
“I think I saw him go out the back a little while ago, Ser Vash,” Milly piped in helpfully. “He was with a tall blue haired fellow and a bard with a horn.”
Vash slammed his fist down on the table and stood, almost abrupt enough to upend everyone’s drinks, ignoring Meryl’s squawk of outrage. “I’m gonna kill that guy.”
“Want help?” Wolfwood said, helping himself to the dregs and foam of Vash’s ale. “I wouldn’t mind flexing a little alpha muscle on that prick.”
“Nah,” Vash waved him off, already having extricated himself. “I’m gonna handle this my way.”
“Gods help us,” Meryl groaned, while Milly just waved at him as he retreated.
“Good luck, Ser Vash!”
Vash shouldered his way out the back entrance of the tavern, eyes darting around for his brother. He knew he probably looked crazy— golden stripey ears swivelling every which direction, eyes dilating to take in all the little details in the darkened alleyway between buildings. Everyone already expected so-called irrational behavior of feline-touched, so may as well play into the stereotype as it suited him.
He could smell Nai nearby and honed in on that, following his nose until he turned a corner and came to an abrupt halt. Legato was up against the stone wall of the ale house, and Nai was looming over him, caging him with one arm. Midvalley was hovering at the edge of the alleyway listing toward the street, looking like he’d rather be anywhere but here.
Vash barely registered anything but how close Nai was to Legato— close enough to scent him. Oh gods, his stomach was in knots, he was gonna be sick. How could Nai even think of doing this? Anyone but that insufferable whoreson, please Nai, literally anyone else—
“Get away from him,” Vash heard himself say, stalking closer; his tail whipping out to the side, hackles rising, a warning growl rumbling up from the depths of his throat. “Bluesummers. Back. Off.”
Legato and Midvalley turned to look at him. Nai didn’t, and a part of Vash quailed at the thought that Nai would ignore him, but then he realized that Legato looked intimidated, frightened even, and it wasn’t because of him. He didn’t envy anyone being on the receiving end of the particular stare Nai had leveled at Legato.
“I told you,” Nai said, voice as soft and blithely menacing as Vash had ever heard it. “My brother won’t stand for your continued insolence, Bluesummers. But please, if you think you can convince him, be my guest.”
Legato looked between them, back stiff against the stone. Despite the bit of height he had on Nai, he seemed to shrink even further.
“You could do far better than your own littermate, my lord,” he attempted, taking on a cajoling tone. “Magic runs strong in my bloodline, I could give you such powerful children—“
“I said, convince him,” Nai cut in, flicking his ears in Vash’s direction. “Or are you simple as well as pathetic?”
Legato glanced toward Vash, mouth drawn tight and a flat look in his umber eyes that only grew more aggravated as he seemed to register the aggression directed toward him.
“I don’t suppose,” he began, voice taut.
“Save your breath,” Vash hissed, stalking closer. He was glad to see Nai backing away from Legato, as if to say this one’s all yours. “You aren’t fit to serve as his pissing trough.”
He could hear Nai heave a dramatic sigh— annoyed at the vulgarity, no doubt— but Vash’s eyes remained locked on Legato, the fine hair on the scruff of his neck standing on end.
“Oh? And I suppose you are?” Legato scoffed with a mean little sniff, crossing his arms in displeasure. “Is that the prize we’re meant to be competing for? The almighty position of our lordship’s urinal? I have loftier aims than that, Stampede.”
“Hardly a competition, really!” Vash gritted out through a fake smile. The next words spilled from his mouth before he could remotely think them through. “Hell, he’d gladly serve as mine before he’d ever consider courting the likes of you, never mind giving you the prize in his pants.”
There was a moment of shocked silence that followed— Legato blinked wide-eyed at him, Nai was staring murderously, ears flat. Even Midvalley looked, quite frankly, stunned.
“Gods almighty, Vash.” Nai recovered first, sounding torn between fratricidal and deeply embarrassed. He had pink spots high on his cheeks that only spread across his pale complexion when Vash looked at him. “Seriously?”
“Prove it then,” Legato said, breaking in. Now it was Vash’s turn to be stunned. “If my Lord Knives really is as devoted to you as you claim, then go on. Show us how eager he is to let you make a fool of him. Something I would never presume to do.”
Vash inhaled sharply, eyes twitching towards Nai, who was outright glowering at him.
“Vash…” he warned, as if reading Vash’s thoughts (which in all honesty, he was.) “Don’t even think about it.”
“Will you leave him alone,” Vash said, still staring at his twin brother, feeling a strange, possessive stirring in his blood. “If I do this and stake my claim on him— if he allows me to do so— will you stop pursuing him, Legato? For good?” His hand twitched at his side, aching to reach for his firearm.
Legato laughed brightly, turning towards Nai with an aggravatingly amused curl to his thin mouth.
“Oh, yes,” he replied in that deadpan voice of his. “I can see our dear alpha is thrilled at the prospect of being pissed on by his omega littermate.” His eyes glittered with worrisome glee as he spoke to Nai this time. “Milord, perhaps we might make a little gentleman’s wager to see if he’s right? I’ll bet that you would never in a hundred years allow your brother to use you as a privy— and if I am proven correct, you will allow me one evening’s entertainment with you. Unchaperoned.”
“And?” Nai asked, stiff as a corpse, as he dragged his glacial glare from Vash to Legato, which proved enough to cow the taller man ever so slightly. Vash could smell Nai’s pheromones rising, exerting his dominant presence. The scent rolled over him like storm clouds darkening the horizon, all metallic rain and mineral.
“If you were to be proven wrong,” Nai continued, “what then?”
Legato only hesitated for a moment, doubt flickering across his fair face before it was smoothed away. “Well, then I suppose it would only be fair to assume you were off the market, for a time.”
“For good,” Vash cut in, not wanting to be left out of the negotiations. He yanked Legato by the lapel of his ostentatious silk jacket, demanding his attention and leaving wrinkles in the expensive fabric. “If you lose the bet, you’ll leave him alone for good. Understand?”
Legato smiled at him without humor.
“Fine,” he said, edging back from Vash and batting his hand away. “But my lord, if you please. I’m afraid I won’t be convinced that you have truly chosen your littermate over myself unless you’re, ahem. Demonstrably enthusiastic. After all, he did claim you would go gladly.”
Nai glowered.
“I will accept those terms. If we are all agreed?”
He shot a withering look at Vash, who gave him a sheepish grimace in response, knowing as soon as they were in private he’d be in for a massive haranguing. Still, there was something else bubbling up in him that made it hard to fully regret opening his big mouth.
The thought of Nai kneeling beneath him, head tipped back to expose the delicate cage of his throat. The thought of releasing the growing tension of his bladder and ruining his pretty outfit, marking him so thoroughly that he reeked of Vash— unmistakably his alpha, his mate, his property, for all to see and smell.
Blood was rushing between his legs even as Nai set him with a hard glower. Even as he stepped closer, uncrossing his arms to rest his gloved hands on his narrow hips with no small amount of menace.
“Well,” he said, lip rising in a snarl to expose one of his gleaming canines. “I suppose we have ourselves a wager.” His voice was taut like iron cable. “Since my brother can’t seem to keep from creating situations wherever he goes.”
Gods, Vash loved it when he was vibrating with anger. They’ve only fucked once while they were arguing, so far, but Nai furiously hissing and spitting all the way through until they were knotted and even after… fuck, it really did it for him.
It was where the immature part of Vash that loved goading his brother into a frenzy met the hungry, bestial side of him that wanted to be fucked with a fury, wanted all that rage pumped inside of him; a vessel for Nai to pour all his intensity into.
The glare Nai was giving him right now had his cunt clenching, both of his holes fluttering with tingling electricity as he felt himself growing wet. Slicking himself up to receive. But this time was going to be different. Because he knew Nai was going to say yes. Was going to let him mark his territory.
Nai turned and took a step towards Legato, and Vash could see triumph crossing the taller omega’s gaze. Only to be replaced with mild confusion when Nai began to remove his outer jacket.
“You’ll be so kind as to hold these for me, I assume,” he said, smartly folding his jacket and handing it to a bemused Legato as if he were a manservant. Next came his lovely embroidered waistcoat and his cravat, folded with care and placed upon the stack on Legato’s arms, which left him only in his cream-colored tunic and soft blue breeches.
Legato was visibly inhaling through his mouth, eyes raking over the dip of Nai’s exposed chest between the folds of fabric.
“I didn’t expect our evening to start so early, milord. I rather imagined a different setting.”
“Oh, it won’t be evening for some time yet,” Nai said lightly, giving him a wan smile before turning back to Vash, that intensity Vash loved so well coming back into his pale eyes. He looked even broader like this, his wide shoulders and trim waist handsomely accentuated by the cut of his shirt.
I am going to pay our tailor such an immense bonus once we come into our inheritance, Vash thought, and nearly gave a manic laugh. Because Nai was walking back towards him, reaching out a hand and reeling Vash in close, until they were chest to chest, thigh to thigh, Nai’s tail curling around and finding Vash’s.
His brother rumbled low in his chest, his hands finding Vash’s waist, gripping possessively— like an alpha should.
“Is this what you were after?” He murmured, low enough for just their feline ears to pick up. “Trying to humiliate me? Are you pleased with yourself?”
But the tightness in his voice didn’t sound humiliated, only anxious. And there was a humming current of desire buried deep in there, Vash would swear upon it— and he planned on dragging it out kicking and screaming if he had to.
“Don’t act like you don’t want it.” He matched Nai’s volume, leaned in and scented Nai at the dip of his neck, took a deep breath and felt his head go woozy with pleasure as Nai did the same. “You love it when I drench you in slick and squirt all over you. I’d bet good money you’ve even thought about this before.”
“No more damned bets,” Nai growled, but Vash could smell the arousal rising off his brother as easily as he could sense his nerves. And it was Vash’s responsibility to soothe him. Reassure him. Claim him.
“That’s not a denial,” he purred as his hands wandered up Nai’s body from thigh to hip and squeezed his waist, mirroring the hands on his own. “You’re really too easy, Nai.”
His lower abdomen was full and tingling, aching with the need to release, to mark his brother in a way no one could possibly mistake as platonic.
Nai scowled, but his eyes were dilated and he smelled so aroused that Vash wanted to eat him alive, savoring all his choicest parts in full view of his rival omega who would never get a single taste.
“On your knees, big brother,” Vash said, loud enough for Legato and Midvalley to hear. His entire body felt too small for the feelings swarming him as Nai took a shaky breath, holding Vash’s gaze as he stepped back out of his grip and sank to the ground as directed, knees spread and hands clutching at his thighs.
He looked beautiful, moonblond hair swept back from his face, his soft pale ears alert. His black hole eyes piercing Vash’s, his lips parting on a nervous inhale. Wanting. He didn’t pay any notice to Legato— just stared up at Vash with his sleek tail impatiently flicking, his claws gently scraping at his own trousers. His scent was stronger now, eager, and Vash could see where his cock had thickened between his legs, pinned in his breeches. Hard and wanting. All for him.
Vash had never seen his twin this passive or this obedient even in private— never mind in front of others. But despite his hatred of being put on the spot, Nai seemed determined to prove something to everyone present. His alpha pheromones wound around Vash— aroused. Demanding. Urging him to follow his instincts.
The sight and scent of him sparked fire between his thighs, and then Vash was fumbling with the ties of his breeches, because he needed this suddenly more than anything. Needed to mark Nai, to claim him. If they couldn't get away with proper mating bites yet, then this would have to suffice.
“Tell him, Nai,” Vash panted, pushing his soft breeches down over his hips, vaguely thinking that he ought to be more nervous about baring his scarred body like this— but all he could think about was drenching his mate from head to toe. Nai reached out to tug the fabric down to his ankles, giving him just enough movement that he could step forward and stand over Nai’s chest, straddling one each of his legs and shoulders.
“Tell him,” Vash repeated, glaring over at Legato, whose face seemed rather drained of color. “Who you belong to.” He fisted a hand in the back of Nai’s hair, scruffing him, and Nai growled low in the back of his throat.
“You,” he gritted out, tail lashing against the stone of the building behind them. His eyes were boring like diamond bits up into Vash’s when he looked back. “I belong to you, Vash. Only yours. No one else is worthy.”
His brother’s voice washed over him, catching fire to everything in its wake. Vash purred in approval and pleasure both, tugging his smallclothes to the side with one hand— revealing his cunt for Nai’s eyes only.
“You don’t have to do this,” Legato’s voice broke in, reedy, almost whining. “Milord, I beg you to reconsider.”
Vash’s hand tightened in Nai’s hair and he bared his teeth with a hiss at Legato, ears flattening. His blood was pumping hot and quick, his instincts torn between marking his mate and dealing with this unwanted interloper, but a purr from Nai and a wave of desperation brought him back to the task at hand.
“You’re mine,” he spat, pulling Nai closer so he could rub his cunt against his brother’s cheek. Feeling the purring vibrations from Nai’s throat made him lose control, a little trickle escaping him, and Nai’s eyes went wide as he felt the wetness seep into his shirt. Vash could stare into this eyes forever— dark pools limned with opalescent blue, framed with those pretty snowy lashes. The matching beauty mark that matched Vash’s own. Utterly his in every way.
“Vash,” Nai rasped, breathy, fangs showing— begging— “Now. Do it now, brother.”
Vash finally let go with a groan, pleasure overflowing along with his bladder as hot liquid gushed down Nai’s throat, instantly soaking his shirt and dripping down his gorgeous chest to pool in his lap and on the packed ground beneath him.
“By the twelve,” Legato said, sounding disgusted. Midvalley might have said something too, but Vash wasn’t listening— he was too busy panting open-mouthed, nostrils flaring at the scent of him bathing his brother in piss. Nai stared up at him, breathing ragged, clutching at his thigh as Vash braced a hand on the building behind them.
“Nai,” he whined, voice shaking. There was nothing but the two of them in that moment, and then Nai groaned and tilted his head forward to press against Vash’s thigh, catching the stream in his hair, down his cheek and jaw, oh gods it was getting everywhere, splattering between them, instantly rendering them an absolute mess.
“Brother,” Nai growled, low, then lapped at his streaming-wet thigh with a broad, textured tongue. “More.”
Vash thanked the gods he’d spent so long drinking without a reprieve, because he had plenty enough in him to tug back Nai’s head and watch in awe at his own audacity as he dribbled all over Nai’s cheek. He stared transfixed at the pale golden droplets clinging to Nai’s white eyelashes, pooling along his nose, and then Vash groaned in disbelief and deep satisfaction as Nai opened his mouth and caught the last trickles in his pink mouth.
Vash nearly fell over from that alone— he never once thought he’d be watching his twin try to drink from him quite like this— but then Nai growled and pushed his face into Vash’s groin, ripping aside his soaked smallclothes, hot tongue seeking his cunt.
Vash whined, pressing his sopping wet folds forward into Nai’s mouth, seeking a handhold in his damp hair. He didn’t care that they had an audience, he just needed Nai closer— Nai, who was willingly drenched in his piss, inundated with his scent, marked so thoroughly it’d be impossible for anyone to deny that he belonged to Vash— his, all his, all fucking his.
Rational thought long abandoned, Vash rutted against Nai’s mouth, moaning at the texture of his tongue.
“Alright, you’ve made your point,” Legato snapped, a bitter note and a whiff of irritability rising off him. “You can stop anytime, thank you.”
Vash glared sidelong at him.
“And you can leave,” he snapped, baring his teeth and tugging Nai closer by the hair. “You lost. Now begone.”
Legato glowered at him.
“Lord Knives, your clothing, I—“
“He’s a little busy just now, if you couldn’t tell,” Vash grinned at him with all his teeth and no small amount of menace, his tail whipping in warning. “Set his clothes on the ground and leave us.”
He put his hand on the grip of his pistol just in case Legato needed an extra hint. He didn’t approve of violence as a general rule, but for Bluesummers… oh, he could perhaps find it within his heart to make an exception.
Nai didn’t spare Legato a glance throughout the exchange, purring loudly as he dug his claws into Vash’s thighs, greedily lapping and pushing his face as deep into Vash’s cunt as he could get it. The end of his tail was flicking in contentment, his eyes nearly closed as he gorged himself, licking Vash clean.
Vash tasted triumph like hot metal in his mouth as Legato huffed and gave a deeply disturbed look to his kneeling brother, then dropped the bundle of clothes on the ground. He flicked his hand irritably towards Midvalley as he spun on his heel to leave, giving a last perturbed glance to the two of them before he rounded the corner and was gone, his vaguely-amused lackey in tow.
Vash groaned, clutching at Nai’s hair and shoulder as soon as they were out of sight, pressing him back into the stonework. “Fuck,” he said, with feeling, pawing at his twin. “Nai. You beautiful, insane— I can’t believe you’re mine, you belong to me, you reek of me.” He was hot from head to toe, trembling, needy. Dripping with slick now that he hadn’t any piss left to offer his brother. “Mine, no one else’s.”
Nai rumbled low in his chest, meeting his eyes again. There was barely any blue left to them, just round black pits of desire. “Smells like you,” he slurred, and Vash realized he was salivating, slack mouth dripping with it. “M’ covered in you.”
“You really like it that much,” Vash panted, sighing when Nai’s tongue flicked over his clit. “You really like smelling like my piss? Letting me mark you like a feral alley cat? Not very— hgnnh. Noble of you, I have to admit.” Which was part why it felt so perfect. His beautiful, unruffled, perfectly poised brother… who knew he’d look even better this disheveled?
“Mmmhhh,” Nai moaned into his cunt, eyes rolling back a little. “M’so hard Vash, so hard for you; want to knot you, want to bite. Wanna fill you up. Give you my children. Vash.”
Vash had seen Nai swept up in his passions before, he’d seen him embrace his primal instincts and fuck like an animal (his holes still ached pleasantly to think of it) but Nai like this was a vision; so arresting, so entrancing. It was swiftly driving him to the brink of his own sanity.
He trailed his fingers down Nai’s cheek, mouth opening to better inhale the pheromones rising off him— their scents utterly entangled, intertwined. Vash wanted him so badly he could barely think. He sank to his knees, clumsily maneuvering into Nai’s lap, grinding their soaked crotches together.
The scent of him was even stronger here and Vash groaned as Nai grabbed his ass firmly, licking up the side of Nai’s face in reply. He tasted like a different kind of mineral than Vash was used to tasting from his own squirt— heavier somehow, and a little saltier— and Vash felt a possessive, pleased purr rumble up from his chest as he lapped at his brother’s face, tasting himself on his skin. He’d licked his own slick from Nai for the first time barely a fortnight ago, his squirt less than a handful of days ago, and now this?
“Can’t believe—“ he huffed, “you let me do that. You’re so good, Nai, you’re so perfect. Such a good alpha for me. So pretty like this, need you so bad.” They shouldn’t be doing this here, not with their friends still inside, not when any old drunkard could come out here and stumble across them, but Vash’s mind and his cunt were both aflame. He needed this so badly he couldn’t remotely imagine stopping now. Let them just try and interrupt.
Nai let out a wounded noise as he tried to thrust forward, still on his knees, Vash awkwardly straddling him with his breeches around his ankles. Nai had forgotten his own trousers were still laced, from the looks of it, and Vash made quick work of them with his claws, too impatient and shaky to untie them properly.
Nai made a heated groan when Vash took him in hand— red and thick and already so full, already the beginnings of a knot swelling at his base which made Vash dizzy to realize. Nai hadn’t even been properly touched, yet here he was, all engorged and ready to knot. Vash wasted no time in scrambling to get in position, lifting himself higher up before sliding Nai home inside him, crying out with abandon as he felt the sudden stretch.
It felt so good, it felt so fucking good. Nai all but sobbed, grabbing at him and bucking into him with a fury, claws pricking sharp into his skin.
“Vash,” he stammered. “VashVashVash, feels so good, so good, smells like you— everywhere—“
Vash whined and scratched up the back of his shirt, one of the few parts of his brother that was still relatively dry. Leaving his own marks in turn.
“Fuck me,” he demanded, though it quickly dissolved into babbling. “So good for me, Nai, you really do like it when I piss on you? Like it when I show everyone who you belong to? You’d never let Legato mark you like that. You’re too good for that sleaze. Tell me you’d never.”
“Never,” Nai groaned, head tipping back against the stone as he grunted and slid his legs out in front of him with no small difficulty, until Vash was finally seated in his lap proper and he could dig his heels into the wet ground. “Aghh. Vash. Please. Need more. Mark me again before— knot’s gonna get too big, please!”
Vash managed to lift himself up off Nai’s throbbing cock for just a moment, a frenzy taking him at the way Nai was outright begging. He pressed on his lower abdomen, shoving his shirt-tails out of the way, and Nai growled deep in his chest, his tail thrashing off to the side as he pressed his own hand down over Vash’s.
“More,” he painted, mouth hanging open, fangs fully extended, saliva pooling. “Cover me in it.”
Vash moaned, feeling another trickle escape him — and then something loosened and the intensity of the stream grew, like he’d had more piss locked away inside him that could only be coaxed out by his mate’s begging.
Nai’s eyes rolled back as the warm liquid pooled on his soaked shirt, on his bare stomach, in his navel. He whined and used a hand to spread it all over his chest as Vash watched through a possessive haze— spread it all the way up his neck, ran it through his hair, scooped up another handful to smear it all over his mouth and lower face. Pale gold rivulets ran down his neck, and he licked his fingers, looking at him with a depth of need in his dilated eyes that made Vash shudder.
“Vash,” he croaked, slicking his cock in his fist with a handful of the liquid still puddled on his shirt. “Vash, please.”
Feeling he was truly empty this time, Vash sank back down into his brother’s cock with an impatient snarl. It smarted a little, because Nai wasn’t wrong, he was swelling fast and piss was far from ideal lubricant, diluting his slick as it was, but Vash reveled in the stretch, running his hand up Nai’s soaked stomach and abdomen, pressing his wet fingers into Nai’s mouth. Delighting in the way Nai sucked his taste from them, his eyes rolling once again.
“Gonna mark you like this from now on,” he huffed, fucking himself on Nai’s cock— Nai looked like he was having too much of a moment to do it himself. “Gonna wake you up by straddling you and covering you in it. You’d like that, huh? Not even washing off, just smelling like my piss all day. Even going to court like this. You’d let me do it, wouldn’t you?”
“Vash,” Nai moaned, drawing his name out. “You know I couldn’t stop you.”
“But tell me you want it,” Vash insisted, pleased at the embarrassed whine it got him.
“I want it,” Nai’s voice was small and a little pathetic. So cute. So unlike the massive alpha cock Vash was currently gorging himself on. “I do. Want them to leave me all alone. Want them to know I’m spoken for, even without a mark.” His claws dug in harder. “I— ughh, you’re despicable.”
Coming from Nai, that was high praise. Vash would’ve been outright preening if he wasn’t busy sweating up a storm, working himself up and down on Nai’s lap.
“Such a good alpha for your little brother,” he panted, nuzzling into Nai’s cheek, his ear. Licking and nibbling at the lobe as Nai moaned, a deep purring rumble vibrating both their chests. Vash felt a little insane, actually, with the sheer amount of need swirling around inside him right now. It made him giddy, it made him feel unstoppable.
“You’re beyond drenched, Nai,” he huffed, running his hands all over every inch of Nai he could reach. He couldn’t stop reveling in how absolutely soaked he’d gotten him. How Nai had begged him for more. “Everyone’s gonna know what happened when we walk home, everyone’s gonna smell me on you.”
“Gods above,” Nai whined, sounding more like a needy, desperate omega than Vash had ever heard him. “Please, need to knot you, need to breed you, let me—“ He broke off, desperately trying to rut harder. His knot was stretching Vash’s entrance so perfectly, it was almost big enough that he wouldn’t be able to withdraw, and Vash sank down on his brother’s hips with a heavy press, making a satisfied noise as he felt Nai’s knot pop snugly inside, this time for keeps. Ugh, he was so full. He couldn’t think of anything behind how perfect it felt, how badly he’d needed proof that Nai wasn’t about to let anyone else come between them.
“That’s it,” he moaned, clutching at Nai and grinding down harder onto him, his tail swishing madly behind him, a feral growl rumbling up from his throat. “Feels so good Nai. Love smelling myself on you. I just wanna take you everywhere, show you off like this. All mine.”
“Vash,” Nai pleaded, pawing at him and sounding absolutely wretched, his voice pitched low and rough. He looked overwhelmed and desperate, his soft ears tucked back against his head, eyes round in a way that made him appear much younger, needier. Just how Vash wanted him. “Brother, please. Need you. Need to— cum inside you. Deeper. Let me cum, Vash, want you. Please—“
It was too fast, all too fast and too frantic, but Vash couldn’t bring himself to care— Nai was still swelling inside him, stretching him, and he could only whine eagerly and clutch at him in response.
“Breed me,” he panted, licking at Nai’s sharp canines. “Fill me, Nai— give me your children. Make me your mate.”
That was all it took, in the end. Nai’s claws dug in as he jerked his face away, out of reach. No sooner had Vash felt the sting of rejection did he feel another, far greater sting— that of his brother’s sharp teeth puncturing his neck, in the one place he wasn’t supposed to. The one place Vash wanted him to.
A cleansing, devouring wave of heat passed over him inside and out as Nai groaned into his bloody mouthful of flesh and mating gland, emptying himself deep inside Vash’s cunt. Every throb of his cock seemed to make him swell larger. With his last shreds of clarity, Vash pressed a hand over his mouth to keep himself from screaming loud enough to attract unwanted attention.
He screamed anyway. Nai groaned again, more urgently this time, and Vash, shaking, craned over to sink his own teeth into the tender flesh at the base of his brother’s neck, where they’d always belonged.
It was instant. If he thought what he’d felt when Nai bit him was intense, it was nothing compared to how it felt to complete their bond. It was like a searing brand upon him this time, a shivering shockwave passing through him right on the heels of that unholy warmth. The circuit between them had finally been completed, and now all their mutual need and love and pleasure were being pumped through both of their veins, doubled and doubled again until Vash couldn’t do anything but cling to Nai, tears streaming down his face, licking in broad soothing strokes over the bite he’d made, just as Nai’s rough tongue licked over his.
His brother— his mate— absolutely reeked of his piss, his pheromones. Stretching him so full, having filled him with his seed and knotted him so tightly. Clutching him like he was the most precious thing imaginable. It made Vash dizzy with euphoria. They had both begun purring without him even noticing— a deep, rumbling so close in pitch that it was impossible to distinguish where his purr ended and Nai’s began.
They stayed like that for an untold amount of time, purring and licking their fresh marks and scenting each other, not needing to say a word. Nai’s knot showed no sign of deflating any time soon, and Vash could have easily forgotten all about their surroundings. Did, in fact, until the creaking of a nearby door filtered in through his normally-sharp senses, dulled by his supreme contentment.
“Vash? Where in the seven hells did ya—” Wolfwood’s voice cut off abruptly with an uncharacteristic squeak. “I— oh. Oh. What the actual—”
Nai turned toward the intruder and hissed, clutching Vash closer. The look on Wolfwood’s unusually pale face was so gobsmacked that instead of embarrassment, a wave of hysteria took Vash by surprise. It started as a giggle, then turned into a full-blown cackle as he watched his poor friend’s nostrils flare, putting two and two together.
“Damnit, Vash, I leave you alone for five minutes,” Wolfwood swore, averting his eyes and holding up a hand in an attempt to preserve their modesty— or more likely, his own sanity. “Just— eugh. You guys reek. And I’m not just talking with holy matrimony. Did y’all really have to do this in a back alley?”
Nai hissed more ferociously and Wolfwood took a jumpy step backwards. “Okay, okay! I’m getting out of here, sheesh! I’ll uh, make sure the girls don’t come looking. Go hose off, you filthy animals.”
He beat a hasty retreat, opening the door just in time to block a small stone that Nai had hurled towards him. Vash was still lost in hiccuping giggles, already snuggled back into his brother’s neck.
“You don’t have to be so mean to him,” he chided with only the fondest of censure in his voice. “He does have a point…”
“He doesn’t,” Nai insisted, stubborn as ever, burying his face back against Vash’s. “I will make no apologies to him or anyone else.” The possessive tone in his voice was enough to get Vash purring again.
“That’s fine by me,” he grinned lazily, giving Nai’s neck another good lick. In hindsight, he rather tasted of piss as well. Vash hadn’t even noticed earlier, with everything else distracting him. Now it just made him grin in satisfaction to have marked his favorite alpha so thoroughly. “Guess we’ll have to, uh… deal with the fallout later, but I can’t say I’m upset.”
“You knew exactly what you were doing,” Nai accused, but he tilted his head back against the stone wall and let Vash lap his own taste off him. “Don’t act so innocent.”
Vash weighed out the pros and cons of acting scandalized by the suggestion that he might have egged Nai into anything. Teasing him would surely be a lot more difficult now that he would be able to see through Vash’s machinations even more readily. Still, some things were worth giving up.
“I would never,” he said mildly, pressing another kiss to the mark he’d left on Nai’s mating gland. That would scar nicely. He couldn’t wait to see it healed in a day or so. “You did this all yourself.”
Nai nosed against him until he turned his head so they could kiss properly, canines pricking at each other’s lips, locked together at every point of connection they could manage.
“I love you,” he breathed when they finally parted, and Vash felt his head go light and woozy again with bliss. His mating gland throbbed in approval, his inner omega more than satisfied. “Even if,” Nai continued, a little dour, “you made me do this in the dirt, behind a tavern, covered in urine… I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
“I guess a bed would be nice, next time,” Vash admitted. This was sort of an awkward way to be knotted together, straddling Nai’s knees like this, but his brother’s arms were strong and held him close, kept him from slipping and injuring them both.
“Mmhm,” Nai mumbled, already nosing into his neck again. His arms tightened. “Next time, I’ll get my revenge. Cover you in all manner of uncouth fluids. See how you like it.”
Vash could only giggle, sighing in delirious happiness.
“Oh, Nai… don’t threaten me with a good time.”
As they found out that very evening upon returning home in a state of utter disgrace and helping themselves to a joint bathing venture that turned extra steamy very quickly, Vash hadn’t been bluffing on that last point.
He did, in fact, like it very much.
