Carina, my love, my light,
The first time I saw you, I was not in a good place. You know why. When you asked to buy me a drink, I said no because I didn’t want to dim your light with my darkness. You sat at the bar, smiling at me brightly, with a hopeful glint in your eyes and spreading so much light I didn’t want to ruin it. Ruin you.
But when you asked me if I was sure, I couldn’t resist. Your light pulled me in like a moth to a flame.
You are beautiful. I have told you a million times since I’ve met you. But I don’t think you realize just how much your inner beauty shines through your skin. You are such a kind, beautiful and loving soul. I have never met anyone like you. I feel blessed every time I get to open my eyes next to you. Every time you allow me to look at you, touch you, love you. You are the love of my life. The light of my life.
And you saved me.
From my past, from myself. You made me a better person. I don’t know where I would be today if I hadn’t met you. I’m sure I would be fine. But I’m also sure I wouldn’t be happy. I would be physically fine. But ever since i was little, i was searching for something. I was running towards something. Someone. Searching. But I didn’t know what I was searching for. Until I met you. You are the other half of my soul. I can’t imagine my life without you. I hope I never have to.
If you ever have to read this letter, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I tried everything I could. I tried so hard to come back to you. But if you are reading this letter it means I have lost. I promise you, I did everything I could. I love you more than life itself, I would never want you to go through this life without me. I’m just thankful I got to walk through some of yours with you. And I’m so grateful that you walked through part of mine with me. You complete me. I am so happy.
Whenever I think about the time before I met you, I break out into goosebumps. Because you brought the sun Carina. You warmed my body, you warmed my heart. You warmed my soul.
I’m so sorry that you have to read this. Please remember me the way I’d want to remember you. Happy. Smiling.
And please promise me that you won’t let this dim your light. You are such a gift to the people around you. Don’t keep yourself from them. Keep on living and loving.
The thing I am most proud of in my life is you. I am proud of your accomplishments, of your willingness to help others, of the way you show everyone around you to see the good in life.
I am proud of myself for being good enough for you. For working on myself enough to be worthy of walking through life next to you.
Thank you for being there whenever I need you. Thank you for your smiles and your laughter that brighten my days. I became the version of myself I always wanted to be because of you. Thank you.
Don’t be sad forever. I will always be with you. Watching over you. I’ll do my best to help you keep your light shining. The world needs your light.
