Summary:

The CursedSquad is making waves on the internet, their content covering so many audiences, but when Sukuna starts to bait both the fans and Megumi, the dynamic shifts, and Megumi’s stuck dealing with a whole new audience he’s not prepared for.

Chapter 1: Push it

Chapter Text

Megumi tapped his fingers on the mat idly, eyes boredly scrolling through the chat, barely picking out anything. The death had been bullshit, but Megumi wasn’t about to call it out. The guy was clearly using mods and cheat codes, but he wasn’t gonna say shit, wasn’t gonna give the chat the opportunity.

Sukuna and Yuji were more or less shouting through the headset, Megumi ignoring them both. Choso was just as absent, playing in complete silence, and Toji was loudly mouthing off at both Yuji and Sukuna, having been the first one to get picked off.

The five stack was fun, and always did well. Truthfully Megumi knew it was because of the banter, and the consistent attempt to get Megumi tilted. The content did so well on his channel. Whenever Megumi lost it, his views spiked like crazy, with people creating compilations of his rage quits. He was super deadpan about 90% of the time, and the few occasions where the other guys were able to crack him up or send him into a rage were few and far between. The humour of the three brothers was nothing like anyone else he’d been around. Yuji would laugh at absolutely anything, and Sukuna was straight cracked. Choso was similarly deadpan, but found himself cackling more frequently than Megumi did. Toji, his cousin, was usually really level headed, but loved to chat shit, especially when he wasn’t even playing. He’d be the first to tell the others to shut up, but the minute his death screen popped up he was the first one to start annoying the others on stream.

Yuji, Sukuna and Megumi were the only ones with face cam. Choso wasn’t against showing his face in videos, but usually kept face cam off, self conscious of his scar, but Toji loved the fanart people drew of him, wondering what he looked like, as Megumi’s cousin. It had even made for some good duo videos with him, rating the attempts.

Megumi scrolled through the chat, a handful of comments catching his eye, a couple about how he only laughed at Sukuna’s jokes, and a few mentioning how he made a weird face when Sukuna complimented him on a good play. He ignored it. It was bullshit. Dumbass fangirls who wanted their little ship to be right, he flicked his eyes back to the screen as they respawned for the next round. He quickly picked out the weapon he wanted, getting ready to push as the round started with the others, listening to them strategize. So what if he disagreed with Sukuna, so what if he thought the aggressive approach wasn’t going to work this round, so what if someone superchatted to stop flirting with Sukuna. So fucking what.

He was wrong. They got absolutely wiped that round, and Sukuna started berating him. Megumi may have gone a little pink in embarrassment. Maybe the chat was getting to him.

Maybe it’s cause they’re right.

They won the next two rounds, Choso got an amazing clutch, absolutely phenomenal, his reaction time was nuts, and Toji and Sukuna worked together to clinch the next round. They were close to winning, two more rounds won would mean a victory.

Sukuna was picked off quickly, letting out a growl of expletives, Megumi shifted his eyes to the second monitor to look at the cams for the others. Sukuna had slammed his controller down and walked away from the PC, arms crossed above his head. He wasn’t able to distract himself too long, as a flurry of fire opened up and grazed him. He quickly bolted back into cover, eyes trained fixedly on the game. He took a millisecond to recover his focus and headed back out, the opponent came careening around the corner and Megumi acted fast, quickly killing the enemy. Sukuna must be back at the PC because a low whistle appraised his kill.

“Quick, Megs.” The voice rumbled through his headset and he tried to ignore the way his lips quirked up in a small smile. His chat certainly didn’t though. “Awesome shot.”

Megumi and the others pulled the round back, all four remaining in play til victory, and then Sukuna was back in the lobby, chatting shit, making plans. This time Megumi didn’t object, it was the right move, everyone was locked in, ready to win it.

They’d been streaming for four hours now, and each had agreed it’d be their last game. If they landed a win. They were all absolutely shattered. Megumi had a handful of wind down games he’d stream while he was getting out of the comp mindset.

All of them had enough content to stretch over a week, so were happy to leave it there, send the footage off to their editors, and upload when it suited them. Megumi shifted to sit a little closer to his monitor.

They had to win.

Right out of the gate Choso got killed as they pushed the main objective, with Toji getting picked off not ten seconds later. Yuji lasted out a little longer, but not by much, making it another thirty seconds. Then it was just Sukuna and Megumi, frantically back and forthing their locations and any kills, anything that they spotted, and they managed it, only just, with Sukuna dying and Megumi making the final kill with a scrap of health.

All of them flopped back in their seats, releasing a collective breath, all except Sukuna, who’d thrust both hands in the air in victory, whooping loudly down the mic.

“Aight boys, I'm out.” Toji announced, closing the game down, Choso made a soft grunt of agreement.

“Yeah I’m beat, later.”

Yuji yawned loudly and announced his own exit, then it was just Sukuna and Megumi.

“You gonna play some of that gay shit?” Sukuna asked with a smirk, and Megumi rolled his eyes as he exited the game and loaded up Stardew Valley.

He made a soft ‘tsch’, before responding. “Yes Ryo, I’m off to play some gay shit.” His voice was monotone as he loaded up his save.

“Share your screen you fuckin weirdo.”

“Or you could just watch my stream?” Megumi suggested, rolling his eyes again.

“Yeah. But then I’d have to deal with my own echo.”

“Then mute yourself.” He put up the screen share anyway as he started pottering around and watering crops.

“Your character looks so dumb.” Sukuna chuckled to himself, ignoring Megumi’s brattiness.

“Hey, a very kind mouse sold me this hat.”

Sukuna let out a contagious laugh at that. “The fuck even is this game?!” He chuckled to himself. “A fuckin mouse?”

Megumi was laughing now. “Honestly that’s not even out of context, that’s exactly what happened. Gimme a sec and I’ll show you.” He finished up watering his crops before he headed down to the lake.

Sukuna was already looking a lot more relaxed, and was grinning as he watched the screen.

They laughed and chatted about the characters and some of the weirdness of the game, while Megumi hopped around the town, giving gifts and explaining some backstory.

“Chat wants me to get married to Shane.” He said idly as he glanced down at the chat.

“Who the fuck is Shane?”

“He’s this like… grumpy borderline alcoholic. Works at the Jojomart round the corner.”

“Alright Megs, I think you’ve said enough words I don’t understand, I’m out.” Sukuna announced.

“Aight, Night Ryo.”

The chat practically exploded at that, the sound of Sukuna leaving the call and messages pouring in. Megumi scanned the chat, all messages he could see were about how ‘gay’ the two of them were for each other.

Megumi knew better than to say anything. If he even acknowledged the shit going off in his chat, then it would only fuel the fire. If he denied it, it’d make things worse, if he joked about it, it’d encourage some of the shit people were already saying, and actually telling the truth? Well that just wasn’t on the table. So he opted to ignore it all.

He played Stardew for another hour or so, before he started to yawn excessively, calling it quits and ending the stream.

He could hear Sukuna and Yuji arguing from downstairs, bickering really, and he pushed back from the desk to go make himself a snack. It was late, but not tomorrow yet, so he’d have a snack and watch some shit until he passed out. Sukuna was sat on the counter top when he entered their kitchen, drinking pineapple juice straight from the carton. Yuji was nagging him about it being communal and nobody wanting his germs. Their phones pinged collectively, with a message in the group chat from Choso.

‘Keep it down guys, I’m trying to sleep.’

Sukuna didn’t even check his phone, but Yuji and Megumi did.

“We weren’t that loud were we?” Asked Yuji, voice lowered.

“I could hear you from the attic. Yeah. You were.” Megumi responded as he filled the kettle with water, popping it on to boil.

Sukuna drained the carton and flattened it before lobbing it in the trash. “Your voice is so high pitched, it just carries.” He added, hopping off the counter and grabbing the last pot of ramen from the cupboard, popping it down on the side and ripping open the lid.

“Tha-“ Megumi stopped himself from thanking Sukuna as he saw the man douse the noodles in hot sauce, and gave him a blank stare. “Really?”

“What?” The larger man asked, raising an eyebrow as he shoved a cookie into his mouth.

“I was gonna have that.”

“Schnooche you loshe” Sukuna teased around the cookie. Trying not to laugh as Megumi opened up cupboards to hunt for something to eat.

“We need to go to the shops tomorrow.” Yuji said sheepishly.

“I literally went two days ago, where’s all the fucking food gone?!”

He knew. Yuji and Sukuna ate like crazy, Choso wasn’t half as bad, mainly because he liked cooking, but he’d still have excessively large portions.

“I swear I'm gonna start putting a lock on my cupboard if you keep this shit up.” He grumbled.

Sukuna snorted behind him as he poured water over his ramen. “Megs that's hardly gonna stop me.”

No snack it seemed. YouTube and pass out it was then.

—-

Sukuna was streaming solo today, as he edited some of his soundcloud shit for its release next week.

“Yall think I should fuck with Megs?” He asked his chat idly as he tweaked the audio, leaning back from the main monitor to take a look at chat. A resounding yes. Excellent.

Sukuna hadn’t faced much backlash from coming out as pansexual. It helped that he was jacked and cocky. Nobody wanted to say anything and, to be honest, it wasn’t really a surprise. It actually made his audience a lot bigger, and that worked for him. He’d made a lot of content off of flirting with people and making creeps uncomfortable. He was known as the member of the group who said the most out of pocket shit for a reason.

Sukuna pushed back from his standing desk and tapped a finger on his chin, before a wicked grin crossed his face, something delicious popping up in his mind. “Hey, any fanfic writers in the chat?” He asked before he went back to tweaking the audio, waiting for the responses to start flying in. “Explicit shit only.” He added, smirk downright evil.

Megumi was known to be a prude, he very rarely laughed at Sukuna’s crude humour, never joining in when they talked about people they were into, even in private, and he was always very cagey about information relating to his sexuality or relationship status. Sukuna lived with him, but didn’t really have any idea about that side of him, not that he wasn’t curious.

Toji was pretty open about being straight, but he was also in a long term relationship. Choso was openly gay, and Yuji was still figuring stuff out. Megumi though? He’d never uttered a word. His brothers were used to his shit but Megumi would still go red when Sukuna made a lewd joke or come on.

Not only was it hilarious, but curious.

The chat started going a bit crazy, and he quickly flicked back to them, clicking on a few of the posts and skim reading quickly. Perfect.

He opened up discord and pinged Megumi a message, waiting for the other to respond before he called him.

He answered on the third ring, keeping his camera off. “What Ryo?” He asked, voice monotone.

“Hey I’ve just found something and I wanna read it to you.” His voice was full of glee, and he could tell Megumi was unnerved, the slender man’s voice getting apprehensive.

“I’ve got a bad feeling about this…” he grumbled through the mic. “What is it.” His voice was monotone but held an uncertainty that Sukuna rarely heard from him. It twisted anticipation in his gut and his lips curled up into a fierce smirk as he scrolled down the fanfic to where the smut started.

“Oh I think you’ll find it intriguing, what our fans will write about us…” he purred down the line, before he started reading the passage out loud. It was pure filth, Sukuna fingering Megumi open, and massaging his prostate as the other whimpered needily, and Megumi hung up after the first paragraph, leaving Sukuna cackling maniacally, watching as chat went nuts. That would be clipped and all over tiktok in seconds.

There were a few beats of silence, then the sounds of feet stomping down stairs graced his ears and he nearly doubled over laughing, as Megumi literally booted his door open, with a scream of “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK SUKUNA?!”

Sukuna had completely disappeared from the screen, doubled over onto the floor and slamming a hand into the hardwood as he laughed, Megumi’s reaction furthering the cackling into pure hysteria. The chat was still going wild and the AI voice reading out the superchats was adding to the fire. Sukuna barely heard Megumi’s words, the cacophony from him and the headphones as well as his own laughter creating some perfect storm of noise that drowned out reality.

Yuji appeared in the doorway behind Megumi, toothbrush in his mouth, and hair wet from his shower. He tried to get some answers around the foam in his mouth. He’d never seen Megumi this worked up, and it was honestly scary. Sukuna must have done something, but Megumi’s eyes were wet with unshed tears, and he was red in the face. Sukuna eventually managed to calm his laughter down to a hysterical giggle, and Megumi stood, breathing heavily, a few feet into the room.

“The fuck jush happen?” Yuji said, a few flecks of toothpaste foam flying onto the floor and he quickly raised a hand to his mouth.

“Your brother is a fucking cunt, is what happened.” Megumi snapped, turning quickly and going back upstairs. Yuji barely caught the way Megumi’s face twisted as he walked out, and he frantically whipped his head between the two of them. Sukuna carefully stood, a hand going to his chest.

“Fuhuuuuck, that was fucking funny.” He grinned, still giggling slightly from the reaction, and he glanced over at Yuji.

His brother was standing there with his hands held out in front of him. “Wha tha ffffuckd ya do?”

Sukuna let out a burst of laughter again and motioned him over, not able to say it out loud. Yuji joined him at the computer, waving absently at the camera, saying hi to the audience in the stream, before he turned his attention to the still open fanfiction.

“Oh my god, ew!” White foam slipped past Yuji’s lips and down his chin, as he narrowed his eyes and glared at Sukuna. “You are a cunt!” He shook his head and left, leaving Sukuna still cackling.

He couldn’t help it! Megumi was so fun to rile up, and it happened so rarely. His fury had an edge, like fresh ozone after a lightning strike, it was vicious and hot, scorching. A prize Sukuna deserved and revered. It was so sweet.

The rest of the stream was uneventful, with Sukuna finishing off the track and playing it for the audience watching.

Sukuna was proud of his music, and the music his two brothers were producing. Him and Choso had a good thing going with their music, and Yuji was starting to release his own things, featuring on a few of Sukuna’s tracks. They sounded good all together. Sukuna and Choso’s humour blended well, with Sukuna’s rumbling voice and Choso’s deadpan one, they were getting noticed more and more outside of their usual audience. Rap was where Sukuna had started; soundcloud. When Yuji started streaming with Choso, of course he had to join in, he couldn’t let Choso have all the fun with their beloved baby brother.

When Megumi joined the trio with Toji it seemed like the perfect storm. Each of them brought something to the table, Toji was cocky and swaggering, Choso was stoically wholesome, Yuji was a ball of positive energy, Sukuna was out of pocket, and Megumi was the mysterious quiet one. They all worked perfectly, cornering so many markets, more than any of them could reach on their own.

Sukuna knew everyone else pretty well. Megumi always kept his cards close to his chest, and Sukuna spent his days gently trying to pry open Megumi’s hands, at first. He got bored fast though and had resulted in yanking, tugging frantically and brutally at fingers, as he tried to peek at what made Megumi tick. Nothing had worked so far, except for this.

My oh my this was going to be fun.
