Work Text:
I was scrolling through magicam while my beautiful boyfriend on my chest as he’s reading a book. As I’m scrolling I keep looking at those perfect people showing their perfect life’s (or at least the lie of a perfect life) but I also saw all the happy couples, some on dates and others on vacation.
‘I wonder if someday Riddle and I will look like that’ I think to myself. ‘Probably not, he probably will be too busy for stuff like that’
actually there’s no guarantee that we will still be together, I don’t have much to offer so he may leave…
He may leave me
“Hey riddle?” I asked putting my phone down on the bed “are we going to stay together even after graduation?”
He lowered his book, an turned to face me “Well I definitely hope so, why the question?”
“Well…” I avoided looking at him.
“Ruggie, you know that you can tell me anything” he said as held my hands.
“Is just that you are so amazing, you’re top of our grade and I’m sure you’ll get an great internship and later a great job… but I’m not like you, yeah I’m fairly smart and pretty athletic but I’ll never get a good enough job in the future to be worthy of you and that’s not even putting your mom into the equation, I just think that someday you’ll realize that I’m not worth it”
God I’m not used to spilling my guts out like this, I can’t believe I’ve gotten soft for the previous teapot tyrant.
“… you are maybe right” for I split second I felt a dagger on my chest but thank the seven he elaborated more, “you may not get an internship or job on par to mine and my mom my despise you when I tell her about you… but does all that really matter? I was the one to approach you, I chose you and I don’t plan to leave you”
Hearing him say that made me feel so warm, like a huge hug. It’s so different from the warm I feel with grandma.
‘Is this what romantic love truly feels like?’
“I still think you are going to regret this”
“Well we’ll just have to find out”
