Patroclus wasn’t an idiot. Nor was he a coward.

But he ran.

He ran from Achilles. From Agamemnon. From everyone. He saw what Agamemnon made Achilles do, or did he do it himself? He didn’t know. He didn’t want to know. He remembered the screams of terror, the begging of mercy as Achilles stabbed and stabbed his spear through the poor’s soldier chest.

He saw as Agamemnon stomped the soldier’s head into the ground. As the blood seeped onto Agamemnon while he made the women pick the corpse apart one by one and deliver it to the river. The poor women. Poor Briseis.

Briseis.

He saw Achilles pull her into the tent, her begging and crying for Patroclus to stop him. Achilles had looked at him for a moment, just watching him like a animal.

Predator. Predator ! Something screamed at him as he sat down by a rock, breathing heavily. His nails dug into the ground beneath him, dirtying themselves with mud and grime. He closed his eyes tightly.

“Why would you do this?” Patroclus asked him, burying his head into his hands. “ How could you do this? To us? To this fucking camp!”

He breathed heavily, and looked upwards, at the forest. He pulled his knees to his chest, his hands trembling.

“Patroclus!” Pa-tro-clus. There was only one man who said his name like that. His lover. A killer.

“Patroclus! Damn it, where are you!?” Achilles exclaimed, causing Patroclus to tighten the hold on his knees. “You can’t run forever! Agamemnon knows you left, you fool.

Patroclus let out a soft whine, making the graceful and soft footsteps stop. “Oh, honey.” Achilles whispered, his tone sickly sweet. “He won’t hurt you. Trust me, I won’t let him. I promise you.”

Liar. Liar! Liar! Patroclus wanted to scream and shout, run to Achilles to hurt him or cry! Make Achilles beg for him to return back to camp!

“Briseis wasn’t even that good, you know? The second round, she was already a mess of screaming and moaning. I need you, Patroclus! I’ll protect you! You’re mine, and I’m yours!” Achilles said, the words making Patroclus sick to his stomach.

Patroclus. I’m tired of playing this games. Come out.” Achilles ordered.

Patroclus felt like he had to comply but that tiny, tiny voice in the back of his mind just kept screaming Predator! Predator! Killer!”

“There you are.” Patroclus wanted to cry at the smooth voice as Achilles picked him up bridal style, looking down at him with a smirk. “My prince.”

His lips connected to Patroclus’s immediately, causing the latter to moan and squirm as Achilles shoved his tongue into his mouth when Patroclus let out a gasp. His arm snaked up to clench onto Achilles’ hair as he leaned Patroclus on a rock, looking down at him with such a possessive look.

“You’re mine.”
