Work Text:
"Dad?"
"Yes, Stiles?"
"I’m going to marry Scotty."
"When?"
"Tomorrow. You have to be there. It will be at Mama McCall’s. After school. Don’t be late."
"I’ll be there, little prince."
Stiles runs away, sliding on the floor with his socks. Noah hears him climb the stairs and enter his room.
Noah calls Melissa and the laughter of Melissa makes him understand that she knows.
"Scott told me when he came home. They are determined to get married."
"Do you have any idea why?"
"Yes, Scott told me that we will no longer be able to separate them."
Noah laughs at this news. The two children will manage to surprise them every day.
Noah tucks Stiles in and the boy can’t help but smile.
"You’ll have to sleep, sweetie."
"I’m so happy."
"You know, even if you and Scott aren’t married, we’re not going to split you up."
"Mr. Fritz wants to change Scotty’s class. So when we get married, he can’t do it."
"Why does your teacher want to change classes?"
"Because I’m not positive for Scotty. I don’t know what that means, but I don’t want Scotty to leave."
A few tears fill the eyes of the six-year-old boy and Noah is angry. Against this vile teacher.
"You know what, you’re getting married tomorrow, so no tears. And I’ll talk to your teacher."
Stiles wipes his eyes quickly and smiles again. His big amber eyes staring at his father.
"Are you going to use your sheriff’s voice?"
"Why not."
Noah kisses his son’s forehead and exits, turning off the light.
The next day, Melissa picked up the boys from school while Noah quietly went to talk to Mr. Fritz.
In the classroom, the teacher put his things away and raised his head when he heard Noah enter.
"Can you tell me what drives you to separate two kids who need each other?" Start right away, Noah.
"Sheriff, your son is disruptive. Scott needs calm."
"Scott needs Stiles as he is still suffering from his father leaving, thinking he is responsible. Stiles needs Scott to help him grieve but also to feel normal. He suffers from Adhd, remember," says Noah, angryly.
"I... I hadn’t thought of it. I’m sorry."
"Teacher is not only teaching, it is also doing what is best for students, taking care of them, mentally and physically."
Noah goes out after his words and goes back to his car. He has a wedding to see.
The wedding was so adorable. Stiles had put on a bow tie clip and Scott a little tie with frogs. Melissa was doing the ceremony and the two boys were holding hands. Noah was wondering if they would really marry each other. He secretly hoped that both children would remain adorable as they got older.
"You guys can kiss to celebrate this wedding."
Scott kissed Stiles' plump cheek with a smile. Melissa and Noah applauded and the two boys went to sit down to eat.
"I have spoken with your teacher, Scott will not change classes."
"Yes, it's already working," says Stiles.
Scott hugs Stiles awkwardly but the two boys were happier than ever. And that was all that mattered to both parents.
