Chapter Text
4 months and three days. That was how long it had been since Dean and Sam had left me here. Left me here to go back through the wormhole, back to their real universe - our real universe - with apologetic looks from Sam and frantic kisses from Dean. Promises to return and retrieve me as soon as it was safe, as soon as they had dealt with the griffin who wanted to feed off my brain. The wormhole had shut behind them, the last sighting I had of Dean was his agonised tear streaked face mouthing “I love you”.
I wasn’t a hunter. I’d met Dean when I’d tripped over his feet at the local bar in Lebanon, Kansas. He was sat at a small table near the back and stretched out his legs just as I walked past. I went flying and he picked me up off the floor, full of apologies, our eyes met and just like that we fell for each other.
I’ve been with him for three years, living with both him and Sam in the bunker. I work at the local library so I help them with research (I had a huge Belle in Beauty and The Beast moment when I saw their library!).
But now I’m stuck here, in an alternate universe where Dean and Sam Winchester are characters from a TV show called Supernatural played by Jenson Ackles and Jared Padalecki and I don’t exist at all. There is no Y/N in Supernatural.
I wish I hadn’t agreed to this, but I didn’t have much choice. Dean needed me to be safe from this monster and as the griffin could feel my presence anywhere in our universe this was the only option. Cas had been summoned and he had quickly opened a wormhole. Dean, Sam and I had gone through, the boys staying just long enough to see me settled and set up with a fake name, a bank account, and a place to stay near the studios.
We’d arranged that I would meet them at a coffee shop at 4pm each day which was close to the portal in case we had to rush back. 4 months and three days later and I’m sick of the place, the coffee is horrible. The first few days I couldn’t wait to get to the place, to meet the boys and go home, to feel Dean’s arms around me, his lips on mine. Every day that passed my footsteps get shorter as I know that they won’t be there and I’ll wait until the cafe closes and I’ll have to go back to my empty flat.
Except today. I’m sat at a table by the window looking out and I see them. Dean and Sam crossing over the road. I run out of the cafe.
“Dean! Dean!”
“Y/N!”
Dean’s face breaks out in one big smile and he opens his arms wide, Sam with just as big a grin standing at his side. I run to them but stop just short of Dean’s arms.
I’m waiting for the word. The word to say everything is ok.
Dean opens his mouth and a word drops from his lips.
“Cadillac”
