Chapter Text
If asked, ‘what does the Devil hate more than anything in the whole world?’, what would you say? Purity? Goodness? Holy water? Surprisingly, though these were very high on his list, what was at the top was one of the most mundane, yet grisly tasks known to mankind; paperwork.
Devil grit his teeth as he hastily signed soul contract after soul contract. His hand cramped, but the pile was still over a foot tall on his desk. And if he didn’t whittle this pile down, then he’d be stuck in his office for who knows how long?
The cause of such a pile was thanks to the hard work of King Dice, the Devil’s number one, and who was strolling into the office, scatting a ditty while carrying a fat stack of new soul contracts, proudly.
How. Dare. He.
“Ske-bee-ba-doo–”
“STOP!” roared Devil, stopping Dice in his tracks. He stood in an odd position, like an odd in-between frame in a cartoon.
“Y–Yes, boss?”
“Don’t. You. Dare,” hissed Devil. “Step one more foot closer with those blasted contracts, and your brand new suit won’t be the only thing burned to a crisp.”
Dice clutched at the lapels of his suit as if it were his firstborn. “W–Well, where shall I put these then…?” He gestured to the papers with his eyes, not daring to move.
“Just…Just…Just put them on the floor for all I care. Can’t you see the pile I already got right here?!” Devil jabbed at the pile on his desk. He jabbed so hard his claw tore through them in the dead center.
A silence as cold as ice water washed over the room, despite being so very close to Hell. Slowly, slowly, Dice knelt down, placed the papers on the floor, then stood back up. Gulping, he asked, “Uh, is there…is there anything your number one can do to help, bo–”
“GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE BEFORE I BURN YOU ALIVE!!”
With a shriek, Dice ran away like a frightened animal, slamming the door behind him. Once the dust settled, Devil sighed before he pulled the soul contracts off his claw. Nearly half the pile now had a giant hole in the very middle. But they were still valid, right? Or not?
Devil reclined in his chair as he stared at the ceiling, calculating. If there was a chance these stupid contracts were now void, then why should he waste another second on them? At least not until he can confirm if they’re still good or not. And who’s to say Stickler would be able to confirm in a timely manner?
Better to blow off the contracts now and wait for confirmation later.
“Ahhhh…” Devil sighed as he stood from the chair, stretching his lanky arms over his head, cracking a few bones in the process. “You know what sounds good with forgetting these contracts?” He asked himself. “A little fresh air! A little fresh air and chaos, mwahaHAHA!”
Well, that didn’t last long.
Devil had already spent an hour on the surface. He caused at least a dozen housefires, several car crashes, and had tripped up at least two old ladies on the cold, hard pavement. Yet he was already bored.
Scowling, Devil leaned against the brick wall of an alleyway, the shadows giving him privacy to be alone with his thoughts. He used his pitchfork to scratch at his head on what to do on this cool Wednesday evening. Shoplift? Nah, too small. Start a war? Far too much trouble. Which sin should he participate in at this very moment…?
Well, he could ponder this over a drink. Hence his current situation, sitting in the middle of a small bar, disguised as an average, if not handsome, human. He had traded his thick black fur for pale, smooth skin, the only remainder of his former coat were the short curls of black hair atop his head. As he waited for his drink, he stared into space, his once red eyes now a bright brown, albeit with a bored expression.
Finally, he got his drink, a fruity concoction in a martini glass. Alcohol did nothing to the Devil, so if no drink could get him wasted, it should at least taste good. While he sipped at his drink, his eyes wandered across the bar. The atmosphere was calm, but one thing of note were the pairs of same sex couples. Devil could already tell it was a gay bar before he even set foot inside, but the mood was far too boring for his taste. The flirtations were quiet, but not out of fear, at least. He was starting to regret his decision to enter this bar. Should have gone to the rowdy one on the other end of the street. It wasn’t gay, but maybe it would have at least better entertainment.
Sighing, he held up his glass at his eye level and stared at his distorted reflection. He stuck out his tongue and scrunched his eyebrows. Damn this human disguise, he could make way better faces without the limitations of flesh. His eyes wandered to the reflection of whatever and whoever was behind him, the visions twisted and wiggly on the concave glass.
A flash of purple caught his eye.
Someone purple…no, just someone wearing purple. Someone was staring right at the Devil’s back.
Devil narrowed his eyes at the reflection. His eyebrows rose along with his rising suspicion. Taking a deep breath, he turned his head to peek over his shoulder.
It took everything in him not to gasp as he recognized who was staring back at him. Clad in a purple turtleneck, a hat and smart glasses to disguise his profile, was, unmistakably, King Dice. And he looked away when their eyes met.
Devil whipped back around, biting his lips. He could barely contain his laugh; King Dice, out in the wild, not recognizing his devilish boss. And judging by the color to Dice’s cheeks when he looked away, was checking Devil out. And if Dice was in this establishment, he was more than likely looking to get laid.
Oh, this was hilarious. He couldn’t help but grin as he stifled his laugh with his free hand. What if he walked up to Dice, let him flirt, only to reveal his true identity in a burst of flames and a monstrous transformation? Oh, the look on Dice’s face would be priceless. He’d never, ever, let Dice live it down. A lifetime of entertainment! How glorious!
Devil was already giddy, brainstorming how he’d approach Dice in the first step of ‘operation-humiliate-dice’, when he felt a tap on his shoulder.
“‘Scuse me?” came Dice’s voice. “Is this seat taken?”
Devil looked up, and there stood Dice, flashing a bright smile, radiating confidence.
Well, that takes care of step one.
“Nope. All yours, handsome,” Devil purred.
“Right back at’cha,” Dice sat down, placing his drink on the counter. It was a similar, fruity concoction, but in a tall, skinny glass. “Don’t think I’ve seen you around here before, have I?”
“First time.” Devil shrugged. “Just passing by. You?”
“Every now and then. I’m free most Wednesday nights, and sometimes I come by here for a bit of company.” The way Dice’s tongue played with the last word was subtle, but telling.
“Really? Forgive my ignorance, but this place seems a bit…tame for that kind of thing.”
Dice shrugged. “Maybe, but I prefer it. Low profile, low stress. Not all of us are flaming and flamboyant twenty four seven.”
Devil snickered; Dice was the poster boy of flamboyance. “What about you?”
Dice chuckled. “Well, I admit I pride myself on my presence, but,” He hunched over slightly as he took a sip of his drink, “even I need a break every now and then. A change of scenery.”
“I take it your day to day life isn’t so drab and dull, then?”
“Oh, no, I’m a man of many talents, which keeps me rather busy.”
“And what would be the name of such a busy, talented man?” Devil tilted his head coyly.
“I go by many names,” Dice licked his lips, “but my friends call me Kingsley.”
Devil blinked. He expected King Dice to announce his presence as a man of fame and fortune. And was that King Dice’s…real name?
This was getting interesting.
“A rather regal name, huh?” said Devil.
“My parents had decent tastes when they named me. You can call me Lee, though.” It was Dice’s turn to tilt his head. “What about your name?”
Devil’s heart stopped. His mind raced as he took a long sip from his drink. He slowly put his drink down and took a breath. “M–My name… uh, my name’s Lu…” -cifer.
“Lu? As in Luis?”
“Yes! I mean, of course it is. What did you think it was short for, lukewarm tap water?”
Dice burst out laughing. It wasn’t his showy, crowd pleasing laughter, but a light, hearty laugh that sent warm vibrations down Devil’s–or rather, Lu’s–spine. “Well, then, Lu,” He leaned closer. “Tell me more about yourself.”
Devil–or Lu–swirled what was left of his drink in his glass. “Buy me another drink, and then we’ll talk.” “That oughta buy me some time.”
Dice did just that, but the conversation was surprisingly easy after that. Lu just said he owned a local bar that was doing rather well (the casino DID have a bar, so it was a perfect half-truth). From that point on, the chatter flowed like a babbling brook, free and natural. Musical preferences, favorite movies, even the recent weather felt good to talk about.
They talked for so long that they didn’t realize the bar closed until the bartender shooed them out. When they left the bar, the streets were quiet. No people, no cars, not even a mouse. The silence was so stark it shook Lu out of his trance…he and Dice had talked for hours, straight. His tongue was tired, throat a touch sore.
Dice cleared his throat, “So, Lu…”
“Yes?”
“Do you have a ride? Or,” He winked, “Do you need a gentleman to walk you home?”
Lu wanted to take up that offer, especially with the suggestive, lidded eyes Dice gave him. But what would Dice do when he walked Lu home to the very gates of Hell? The gig would be up far too soon.
“Mmm, that’s a tempting offer,” Lu raised a finger to Dice’s lips. “But I’ll have to decline. It’s rather late, and I have work in the morning.”
Dice lingered on Lu’s touch before leaning back. “Another time?”
“Perhaps, if we see each other again.”
“Well then,” Dice dug through his pockets and pulled out a notepad and a shiny purple fountain pen. Lu recognized it as the very same pen Dice used when cosigning soul contracts, or autographs. Dice scribbled on the pad, tore off the page, and held it towards Lu. “This oughta make that happen sooner rather than later.”
Devil sat on his throne, staring at that same piece of paper. In rich, indigo ink, was Dice’s number. Or rather, ‘Lee’s’ number. Was it the number to Dice’s dressing room? Or his office at the casino? No, this was most likely–and hopefully–his home phone number.
When no one was looking, Devil would gaze at those numbers, grinning like a schoolgirl. But the moment someone else so much as breathed in his direction, he’d hide the paper, along with his expression. He was still so distracted, he didn’t notice how distracted Dice was, too. Not enough for the average fan to notice, but Devil could have noticed how Dice didn’t pile on quite as many soul contracts as usual.
Devil waited two whole days before he swallowed his hesitation and dialed the number. Stupidly, he did so when Dice was working. Hosting ‘Roll the Dice!’ at that very moment. Devil face palmed when he realized, and hung up after the eighth ring. Now he had to sit around and wait for Dice to be done and, hopefully, home. For the next hour, Devil sat and listened to ‘Roll the Dice!’, all while bouncing his knee like an impatient child. He even waited a solid thirty minutes after it was over. At that point, he cracked. He ripped the phone off the stand, and dialed violently. With his free hand, he crossed his fingers so tightly they looked more like a double helix than bony fingers.
On the tenth ring, came a click, “Hello?”
Devil relaxed, “Why, hello there, Lee~”
On the other end, it sounded like Dice did a double take. “Lu? Is that really you?”
“No, it’s Santa Claus. Who else would it be? Unless you hand out your number to any poor young man you encounter.”
“No, I mean–” Dice cleared his throat. “I just–Just been hoping you’d call, ‘s all.”
“To be honest…” Devil played with the phone cord. “I wished I had given you my number, too.”
“You wanna give it to me now? Or…”
“Or?”
“Or we could…meet up tonight. You could give me your number over a drink.”
“Aww, just one?”
“There’s a reason I can only go out once a week. But,” He paused. “I’m more than happy to make some time for you, Lu.”
“Sounds good to me. Same place as last time?”
“I’ll be there by eight.”
Devil appeared at the bar, disguised as Lu, and found Dice sitting at a booth. When Dice saw Lu, his eyes lit up, and god damn if that look wasn’t contagious. Lu did indeed pass Dice his number, and Dice returned the favor with a drink, his treat. True to his word, after just one drink, Dice did move to leave, albeit with great reluctance.
That wouldn’t do.
This time, when they left the bar, Lu dragged Dice into the nearby alley, slammed Dice against the brick wall, and smashed his lips against Dice’s.
To Lu’s delight, Dice opened his mouth and welcomed Lu’s attention with his tongue sliding past Lu’s own lips.
Dice’s lips were so soft, smooth with cherry flavored lip balm. And his tongue, so short compared to Lu’s normal long, serpentine one, made up for it in its curiosity, exploring Lu’s mouth like treasure was inside. It felt so nice to slide their tongues together…
When Dice gave Lu a slight push, the kiss broke, a delicate thread of saliva between them. Dice gasped for much needed air, but still kept close, his forehead gently pressed against Lu’s.
Both broke into giggling fits.
Dice whispered, “I’ve been dying to do this since we first met.”
“Why’d you wait?”
“Didn’t wanna scare you off. But,” Dice leaned forward just enough so his lips reached the asymptote of Lu’s, and spoke in a hushed rumble. “Looks like I had nothin’ to worry about.” With that, the tables had turned. Dice suddenly got to his knees, and Lu gazed down at him in surprise.
Dice traced the button to Lu’s trousers as he asked, “May I?”
Despite the heat rising to Lu’s cheeks, he purred, “Say please~” with a fluttering of his eyelashes.
“Pretty please?” Dice’s lips were barely an inch away from Lu.
“Such a good boy you are,” said Lu as he moved to undo his pants, but was stopped by Dice’s hands, beating him to the punch.
Within minutes, Lu’s cock had disappeared past Dice’s lips, and Dice moaned when it hit the back of his throat, sending pleasant vibrations up Lu’s spine. Dice’s plush lips curled so nicely around the red, throbbing flesh, and glistened with copious drool on Dice’s end. And his tongue showed no hesitation in continuing its expedition, exploring the veins and ridges of Lu’s cock with delight.
Lu was nothing if not impressed. He cupped the back of Dice’s head and gently held Dice in place while Lu pistoned his hips down Dice’s throat. With each thrust, Dice’s green eyes watered. His rosy, hollowed cheeks looked so cute, Lu almost wanted to stop so he could pinch them. Almost.
Cursing with glee, Lu sped up his pace, and Dice grunted at the pleasant strain. A few more thrusts, and Lu grabbed Dice by the back of his head, and held him there as he came down Dice’s throat. Dice’s eyes crossed as he swallowed each spurt. He was so good that Lu couldn’t help but come one last spurt against Dice’s lips with bright pink cum.
Uh-oh.
Unlike humans, demon fluids tended to be stained with their blood, giving their sweat, tears, and even cum a pinkish hue. No amount of lying would smooth over any blood tinged cum. Thinking fast, Lu grabbed Dice by the chin, pulled him to his feet, and licked up the evidence in the form of a french kiss.
Dice’s eyes fluttered shut, his bruised lips returning the kiss. Lu broke the kiss with a wet ‘mwah!’ and looked Dice up and down. No trace of pink, except for the blush upon Dice’s cheeks, matching his blissed out gaze.
Fuck. How could one man be so cute?
Lu moved his lips down to Dice’s throat, trying to nose past the turtleneck to make a nice hickey. Meanwhile, he used one hand to rub Dice through his trousers. The fabric felt rather nice, to Lu’s surprise. And Dice’s cock already made a nice, big tent, making it easy to grab.
“F–Fu…Fuck, Lu…” Dice gasped. “Lu, I…I–!”
Lu was just about to stop and ask when Dice gripped him tightly as he seized. All the while the apex of the tent suddenly grew wet. While Dice trembled as he held Lu, Lu kept his hand on Dice, squeezing Dice through his orgasm.
Not quite what Lu had in mind tonight, but this was more than a pleasant romp.
When the final waves of pleasure ebbed away, Dice went slack, leaning against the wall to support himself, dragging Lu with him. Lu laid against Dice, his head comfortably atop Dice’s heaving chest as he took each breath.
“I…I’m sorry, I…I didn’t mean to…so quickly…” He panted. “Didn’t mean to end up…like this…”
“Oh, I don’t mind at all, Lee,” purred Lu. “Actually, I’m rather flattered.”
Dice chuckled wheezily. “That’s…good to hear.”
