"No" could mean many things. But a "yes" would mean the world.

Summary:

Enid gave a chuckle. "Wednesday Addams scared? About what?" She moved to pull Wednesday aside to a more secure corner.

Wednesday looked into her lovers eyes, trying to find anything amoungst the happy wolf. Yet she couldn't. Such a simple task like this shouldn't be hard. It shouldn't.

Chapter Text

"Perhaps if you were a bit quieter I'd be able to focus." Hissed Wednesday as they sat together in the large classroom hall.

The teacher was talking in a lazy voice, pointing to slides, as Enid huffed.

"But he's so boring Wednesday.." She rolled her eyes, leaning against Wednesday.

Wednesday looked down at her, she gazed over the classroom to see if anyone was watching, no, she leaned down and kissed Enid's head, as her hand snaked to interlace their fingers.

"I know. But this is a very important class. So just shut up, and I'll let you go over the notes.." Wednesday said.

Enid smiled slightly at this, as she leaned her head down on the table deciding that the last 30 minutes she'd nap.

The bell chimed, as Wednesday let out a sigh, leaning back against the chair, as she nudged Enid. "Get up."

With a snrk, the wolf awoke, her hair looking messy, eyes wide, and a paper stuck to her cheek.

She turned to Wednesday, Wednesday staring back. "Your a very big idiot.." Wednesday had commented, as she moved to pull the paper off.

Enid smiled brightly at this. "Your big idiot."

"Yes yes.. come on." She rose from her seat, followed by Enid, as they held hands walking down the halls of the college together, talking to one another.

"I was wondering what your going to do after college.." Wednesday said, breaking into the sentence that Enid didn't get to finish.

Enid looked stumped. "I uh.." She took a moment.

"Well.. with my degree I was wondering.." Enid took another moment as she stared off into the distance.

"Opening a shop.." She smiled.

Wednesday blinked. "A store? With this economy?"

Enid shurgged. "I have nothing better to do.. it's always been my dream since Freshmen year of Nevermore.." She hummed slightly.

Wednesday looked down and moved to hold Enid's other hand. She rubbed her thumbs along the knuckles of her partner. Quiet.

Enid gave a confused look. "Are.. you okay?" She asked gently, leaning down to brush her nose against Wednesday's hair.

"I'm okay... I just.." She looked back up at Enid. "I'm scared."

Wednesday shook her head. "What.. if we don't get to see eachother.. after graduation."

Enid gave out a half laugh. "Are you serious?"

Wednesday deadpanned to her.

"You are.." Enid took a deep breath. "You know.. I'd follow you to the ends of the earth right Wednesday?" She leaned down.

"And I'm keeping that promise.."

Wednesday looked away. "What if my occupation gets in the way of our love..?"

Enid looked confused. "Then you make time for our love... you know-" She looked away for a moment, staring at a few teachers and students, until she looked back.

"I don't want anything but your love. I don't care if we have to relocate to a whole new state for you to become a great- fine- ass detevice... all I ask is you make time for me.." Enid said softly.

"I don't wanna be a burden.. I wanna be there, for you, anytime of the day, any day of the week. Because I love you." Enid moved her hands to the small of Wednesday's back, peppering her with kisses.

Wednesday grumbled.

"Okay?" Enid asked with a muffle, as Wednesday pressed her hands against Enid's mouth, eyeing her. Though she was slightly flushed at the "assault" of kisses.

"I.." Wednesday started.

"You two need to get a damn room!" Yoko shouted laughing out as Wednesday drifted apart, yet her hand rested on Enid's chest.

Yoko walked up to them. "What are ya'll talking about?" She asked, as she looked at Wednesday then back at Enid with a white pearly smile.

Enid eyed her. "We were talking about something very important.. but you always gotta barge in on the worst times!" Enid complained.

Yoko frowned. "I'm sorry-"

Wednesday looked towards Yoko. "It's okay, normally Enid and I are already sitting at lunch." She ran her fingers through her own hair.

"But.. you two can go, I forgot something at the dorm.." She said and Enid shot her a look.

"W-what!? No! It's pasta day and you can't miss it!" Enid said loudly.

Wednesday came close. "Lower your voice, must you cause a scene?" She raised a brow.

Enid looked down. "Sorry."

Wednesday moved and kissed her cheek. "Ill be back in 20 minutes top. I promise." She looked to Yoko, as Yoko smiled at her mocking her.

Wednesday scoffed as she sped off.

Enid looked at Yoko. "Your the worst."

Yoko put her arm over Enid's shoulder, walking with her to lunch. "I am not! You'll thank me for this anyways." Yoko said with a grin.

Enid was about to turn to the lunch room but Yoko pulled her along. "Wh-what! Where are we going?"

Yoko stared daggers at her. "Bitch, I had the lunch lady make us a whole fucking tray of pasta, the good one that YOU like, so- let's go and fuck that shit up."

Enid's eyes went wide. "Oh.. OH!"

Enid and Yoko broke into mischievous giggles as they sped walked back to Yoko's dorm room.

The door swung open, and to Enid's surprise, Bianca, Davina, Xavier, and Ajax were there talking about things.

Confused Enid looked at Yoko. "What are you guys doing here?"

Yoko rolled her eyes. "What do you mean? We are gonna snack on pasta, we gotta celebrate!"

Enid was nudged forward by Yoko as the group had greeted her happily. Enid was confused, and she didn't like it, but that pasta was smelling absolutely delicious, so her mind was set on food.

As they all got a plate, and sat down, Wednesday was in her room pacing back and forth, as Eugene tried to calm her down.

"All you gotta do is get on one knee Wednesday!" He said smiling and holding the box up.

Wednesday stopped and turned to him. "What if she says no?"

Eugene scoffed. "I highly doubt it, she's not gonna say no, she's Enid! I mean you still gotta work out the kinks in the wedding, you being a detective, her being a store owner, relocation.. but- you've got friends for that!" Eugene smiled only to frown when Wednesday turned away, her hands placed on her desk and head low.

Eugene walked up to Wednesday and rubbed her back. "You didn't spend months planning this for Enid to not ask her to marry you.." he handed her the box.

"All you have to do is kneel, and ask her to marry you. Don't think about the future.. think about now.." he smiled and Wednesday took the box, as she pressed it close to her chest, before standing straight.

"Okay! Okay.." She gave a sigh. "Okay.."

Eugene gave her a thumbs up, before Wednesday and him left the dorm.

But the questions lingered, how would Enid take it? She wanted to get married.. she wanted to say yes to everything with Enid. She loved Enid dearly, that was her girlfriend of almost 8 years. She wanted to spend every moment with her.

But.. Wednesday looked over to Eugene who was blabbering about the new bees he had.

What if Enid wasn't ready.... and what if.. she possibly said no?

Wednesday took a deep breath. There was only one way to find out.
