Chapter Text
Students of Class-A let their attention filter out Ectoplasm's droning about numbers. A rare few actually listened to the poor teacher while the rest couldn't wait for freedom from maths. None of that mattered though because a bright white light flashed and suddenly, most of the students vanished from the room. Those left behind didn't even notice as they were frozen still.
Another bright flash went off behind their eyes, leaving the hero students blinking away dots and momentary light blindness. The first to recover were Bakugou Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku who were all too familiar with flashes of blinding light.
"Where the fuck are we?" The blonde shouted, startling his classmates who rubbed at their eyes and tried to open them.
"All Might, Aizawa-sensei! Do you know where we are?" Midoriya asked, running up to the two who looked just as disoriented as his friends.
More heroes popped in just then causing the boy to collide into bright red wings. "Ah! Hawks! So sorry." He bowed repeatedly, stepping back into something squishy.
"Oh, Midoriya~ How forward." Midnight smirked down at him and he shrieked, stumbling back into Hawks who grabbed his arms to steady him.
"Easy kid." The winged hero soothed. "Do you happen to know what's going on?"
Whispers of 'where are we?', 'what's happening?', 'why are we here?' echoed around the room as everyone regained eyesight and realized they were no longer where they had been. The students of UA that were in the room all stood together in one group, minus Midoriya who found himself surrounded by pros in his attempt to reach his teachers. The hands on him tightened harshly when they noticed the third group. They were the only thing keeping the teen standing at that moment.
"Students, over here!" Aizawa called out to his class, hand grasping his scarf.
The heroes were quick to stand in front of the teens to protect them from the villains who just appeared. Izuku noted that they looked just as confused and disoriented as the heroes and students, but his knees were weak at the sight of All for One standing free out of Tartarus. All Might looked just as, if not more, distraught at the sight of his mentor's killer.
Instinctively, Midoriya reached for One For All and he knew everyone around him also reached for their quirks. Nothing happened. Katsuki flexed his hands, nothing. Endeavour, Shouto, and Dabi all made similar movements to use their quirks, nothing. Hawks' wings flared up, but no feathers moved forward. Even Aizawa's capture weapon stayed still.
"Um, can anyone use their quirk? Cause I can't." Kaminari crossed his arms looking only slightly inconvenienced to be in an unknown place, brought by an unknown source, surrounded by villains, and unable to use his quirk. Izuku could respect that.
His anxiety had gotten so high that he could no longer feel it. He removed Hawks' grip from his arms and slid out from the group unseen. They had started shouting at each other, neither willing to believe that the other side had nothing to do with the current situation. Izuku took their distraction to look around and he noticed Kaminari do the same. They shared a nod and took in their surroundings.
The room was dark, lots of deep browns and black. It had high ceilings with designs in the mouldings and arches. It looked like an elegant theatre from hundreds of years ago, the type that royalty would visit whenever there was a play. A short, yet wide, stage stood at the far end of the room with a huge wine-red velvet curtain behind it. He wondered what was behind it. A massive, elegant crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, giving off the only source of light. Other than that, the room was barren. No furniture in sight, just a large empty space. Not even any doors. He wanted to scream to see how it echoed because he just knew it would.
"FUCK!" It seemed Kaminari had the same impulsive thought only he chose to act on it. The curse word bounced off the walls and silenced everyone. They all turned to the pair who looked back sheepishly.
"Umm, there's no doors." Izuku decided to let them know and watched as hero, villain, and student alike turned their heads every which way to see if he told the truth. He did and they looked even more confused.
"Aha! It had to have been you guys because you're the only ones with a warp quirk." Mina shouted at the villains accusingly.
"Except, none of us can use our quirks in here. Including Kurogiri." Mister Compress countered smoothly, twisting a marble in between his fingers. "He's as trapped as the rest of us."
"Then, who brought us here?" Present Mic wondered.
"That would be me." A new and unknown voice sounded from behind them. The three groups of people turned towards the stage where there was a person non of them recognized.
They had a feminine figure and were paler than most. Black hair curled over shoulder blades and fell down their back in loose waves. They stood to their full height which wasn't very impressive. The velvety red curtain behind them dwarfed their petite figure. Jungle green eyes watched them calmly, as if they weren't a threat at all.
"And who are you?" Aizawa growled, stepping in front of his students.
"My name is Olivya, pronouns she/her. You may call me Livvy. I am an Author." The final word was said as if it were capitalized and meant something more than the usual definition. Izuku wasn't the only one to think it.
"Author? I'm assuming that isn't just 'person who writes' is it." Hawks stated, feathers ruffled.
"It is and it isn't. An Author makes worlds and holds complete power over them. We place characters such as yourself in situations and take note of the events that occur. We often share them with others but some keep their works to themselves. Regardless, we have complete control over our dominion."
"And where exactly are we?" Kurogiri stepped up, clearly as protective of his group as the hero student's homeroom teacher was of them.
"Welcome all to The Theatre!" Livvy swung her arms out wide and spun around introducing the place they were trapped in with a sort of childlike glee. "I have brought you here to react."
"React to what, exactly?" The question came from Endeavour who looked so odd in his hero costume but without any flames.
"Eh, depends. There are many Stories and Authors that would be intriguing to see. It will depend on my mood I suppose. All will have something in common though. All Stories will feature you as characters."
"Wait, what?" Several students cried out. Some were curious, others excited.
"I will take you through the multiverse with the screen behind me." Livvy waves a hand and the velvet curtain parts to reveal probably the world's largest flat-screen television. It flickers to life showing them moments of their own lives as if it were a movie. "This will not show your future unless you choose it to be and this may not always show your past as you know it. Treat it as movies featuring you as the cast. Some parts may hit close to home whereas others may be far from reality."
"So basically, you are going to show us alternate worlds as like a movie night but we are all going to be the actors? And it's real for them but not for us? Did I get that right?" Kaminari asked to make sure he understood properly.
"Precisely, Denki Kaminari!" Livvy cheered and did a little jump in place. "I know it seems confusing, but once you get started you'll understand."
"It is a little weird, but I'm guessing we don't have much of a choice here." Miruko crossed her arms, glaring up at the young woman on stage.
"Well, no, you don't. But it's not like it matters. Time has frozen in your world. You will return as if no time has passed with no consequences. This is honestly mostly for my entertainment. Sorry not sorry." Livvy clasped her hands together behind her back and leaned forward. "Another thing; a good majority of these Stories will feature Izuku Midoriya as the lead."
All eyes turned to the green-haired hero student as he attempted to hide his increasingly red face behind his arms.
"Why him?" Multiple voices asked, most of them from the League.
"Why me?" The boy whined
"Fucking Deku! Seriously?!" Katsuki shouted, hands flexed for explosions that wouldn't come.
"Well, he is the main character. Your universe quite literally revolves around him. He is the focal point of many storylines and the Original Universe wouldn't really exist without him."
"The universe does what now?" Midoriya stammered, high-pitched and nervous.
"Your Universe, known to many in mine as My Hero Academia, is a Story that follows you. That's really all there is to say." The girl shrugged, rolling onto the balls of her feet and back down repeatedly.
"You're telling me that we are all characters in a story?" Dabi questioned disbelievingly. "Are we even real?"
"You are as real as you are."
"That doesn't make any sense!" Mina complained at the same time as Toga.
"What I mean is, being characters in a Story in my world doesn't mean you are not real in your world. You are going to view Stories from many different worlds and all are as real as you but they will only be Stories to you."
"Wait, if we are a Story, or whatever, in your world does that mean you know our futures?" Shigaraki spoke up, fingertips at his neck but not digging in. Without access to his quirk he didn't feel the need to scratch.
"To an extent, yes. Your Story is not over so I don't know it all, but I know much more than you do. Thank you for asking that. It reminded me of one last thing I need to tell you before we begin." Livvy smiled at the villain, green eyes lingering on him a little too long and filled with awe as if she were a fan. She shook her head rapidly, tapping the side of it to focus. "There's a couple secrets some of you hold that will be revealed regardless so I want to get it out of the way now."
"Wait what?!" Izuku shrieked, waving his arms around violently.
"Yeah, excuse me?" Dabi growled, taking a threatening step forward.
All for One simply looked amused while everyone else panicked and wondered what would be revealed.
"There will be no fighting in my Theatre!" Olivya shouted over the crowd. "You will find it impossible, actually. I will not allow any physical fighting and will break up verbal fights if I see fit. You do not get a say in what I reveal or not. It will be discovered anyway so if we could get it over with, that would be fantastic!"
The group quieted down and turned their attention back to the woman on the stage. The screen behind her lit up with video clips.
"Izuku Midoriya's quirk is called One for All, he got it from All Might who got it from someone before him. He is the ninth user of this stockpile quirk and will go on to have several quirks because of it. Before that, he was quirkless." Scenes of Izuku training for OFA, getting OFA, using different quirks, and meeting the vestiges showed up on the screen.
"Dabi's real name is Touya Todoroki. And on the topic of real names, Hawks' name is Keigo Takami. It's used often and I don't want you confused. Kurogiri is former UA hero student Oboro Shirakumo. All for One stole his corpse and revived it, turning him into a nomu. Shigaraki's birth name is Tenko Shimura, grandson of deceased hero Nana Shimura who was killed by All for One." Video clips proving each claim flashed before them as everything was laid bare. If she hadn't made it so nobody could interrupt until she was done, it would be chaos.
"Iida tried to kill Stain. Endeavour bought his wife for a quirk marriage in order to produce a perfect quirk child resulting in spousal and child abuse, child neglect, assumed child death, and kids with ~trauma~. Hawks was bought by the Hero Commission as a child and brutally trained to be a hero. Bakugou bullied Midoriya for a decade and even suicide-baited him." Livvy rushed the words out, breathing hard. "I think that's all the important stuff. Let's begin!"
Before anyone could protest or process the amount of information dropped on them, the room suddenly had couches, chairs, beanbags, soft rugs, and copious amounts of plushies, pillows, and blankets. It looked like the world's coziest living room despite the antique arches and old theatre feel.
"Sit wherever you'd like with whoever you want. You can move around if where you choose at first isn't what you want later. Any food or drink or really any object at all you want is yours, simply write it down on the notepad." A composition notebook and pen appeared in front of everyone in the room. "Get comfortable, talk amongst yourselves, discuss what I revealed if you must. When the television at the front starts loading, it is time to react."
With the final words spoken, Livvy stepped off the stage and walked over to the far corner where a cozy setup was. She plopped down into the cushions and allowed a moment for the characters to handle everything. Soon, though, they would React.
