There was still a bit of warmth left on the other side of the bed when she woke up. Suzume smiled gently before she climbed out of bed.
The whistle of a kettle and a quiet conversation let her know where Souta and Daijin were.
Sadaijin sleeping on their small table was the first thing she saw as she entered the kitchen and living area.
Daijin who was perched on the counter let out a happy cry of,”Suzume!” He launched himself into her arms.
“Good morning,” Souta smiled as he pressed a kiss to her temple and handed her a cup of ginger tea.
“It really is,” she sighed and took a sip. She wasn’t quite nauseous this morning but the tea was exactly what she needed lately. And the eggs, she couldn’t forget about the eggs that were the only reliable food she could keep down.
Daijin snuggled into her arms and started purring up a storm as Souta set down breakfast.
Suzume basked in the warmth of the sun and her home.
