Chapter Text
He made his way up a withered tree that loomed over the graveyard next to the church. The weather was perfectly moody for the occasion. Rain came down in a way that wasn't too heavy, but heavy enough. Wind blew into his face, if it wasn't for his mask he'd most likely be crying. Not because of his emotions of course, "Big man Tommyinnit" would never cry. But from how dry this weather was. It chilled him right to the bone. To put it lightly, the weather was shit. But this was an event he just couldn't miss.
It was his funeral after all. The great Tommyinnit, was dead.
Of course, Tommy wasn't actually dead, and this wasn't actually his funeral. He wouldn't be here watching if it was.
Unfortunately, Tommy got a little bit too careless on one of his "missions" and had to resort to a final decision. Looking back on it, it wasn't a good idea at all. However, in Tommy's defence he never has good ideas.
He climbed the loose ivy from the tree and sat on the roof of the church tower, watching the graveyard. He was High enough to not be seen, but low enough to know he would be able to see and hear them. He spotted where his "ceremony" was being held immediately. It wasnt anything big, it wasnt really anything at all. A tombstone that he couldnt read from his position and a few chairs surrounding it. He was early for it, which was a strange thing to think about. The only thing he's probably been early for was his own funeral. Wasn't that a kick in the ass?
He didn't expect anyone to be showing up just yet. But minutes dragged onto hours and Tommy found himself getting bored. Bored. At his own funeral? The audacity these people had to keep him waiting in this weather. The nerve. But I suppose the weather shouldn't matter to a dead man.
He waits till what feels like the end of time, and at this point he considers if getting in that coffin and dying would be better than-
well, this.
Eventually, he sees someone he recognises. About God damn time. They sit at his ceremonial area. That's it.
He doesn't know what he's expecting, but he was certainly expecting something, different. More emotion, more people, more-
Anything.
The people who arrived (who he recognises to be his parents) arrived late. 30 minutes late. And by the looks of it no one else is coming. And it breaks him a little.
His friends, his peers, his other relatives, his brothers. No one else shows their face at his ceremony. No one else cares enough to make the effort to come and see the only remnants that remain of Tommyinnit. An etched rock. His body wasn't seen at the area of his death. Of course it wasn't, his body is right here. Sitting on the church tower. Watching this miserable ceremony. In this miserable weather. With a miserable feeling growing in his gut that no one cares enough to visit him. The disgrace of a vigilante, that died on mission. He understood he was annoying and horrible at getting anything done without risking everything. But this seemed a little harsh.
Tommy sat there and watched as a man came and spoke to the small 2 person crowd. He sat there, listening to his words of comfort and bullshit. He wonders if his friends are even mourning him. If his brothers are even thinking about it. If his peers will even notice he's gone.
His parents spoke few words, shared few tears. Before flowers were left at the bed of his tomb, and they departed. He watches his parents leave the church and watched as the chairs were packed away.
Tommy had never felt so small, so unimportant, so alone. He truly had no one now.
He debated going to see wilbur and techno, perhaps his brothers would be relieved to know he was okay.
Perhaps they would push him away for doing such a heinous act.
He debated going to see tubbo and ranboo, perhaps his friends would cheer him up and help him get back on his feet.
Perhaps they would shut him out and shun him for being so careless.
He then debated going to visit his villain counterpart, dream. Maybe he could start some crazy super villain arc. But that was so not "The Great Tommyinnit"s style.
He swings his legs. The rain clears and the wind slows. The air is still chilled, but warm rays of sun break through holes in the clouds and shine down on freshly cleaned tombstones. The positive change in weather means he should be feeling better, shouldn't it? So why does he still feel so shit.
Where does he even go? What does he do? Does he just come out of hiding immediately? Say he's "fine" and continue with his dangerous life? Everyone knows his face, so there wouldn't be any point trying to fly under the radar. Unfortunately, Tommy wasn't good at keeping his identity a secret.
He's truly and utterly stumped. He likes the idea of finally feeling safe, even if it's for a few nights. If he finds some shelter he could camp there for a few days. Then, maybe, he could appear back in public eye. Say he isn't dead! Wasn't to begin with. Where would he find shelter though?
Well, this church tower did overlook his grave. Maybe someone would visit after the ceremony. He'd like to know if anyone else does end up visiting, might give him an ego boost. He certainly needs one after experiencing his empty ass funeral. That was truly a bummer.
He slumps against the half wall that looks over the graveyard and his dull ass grave that currently has yellow roses at the bed of it. Techno definitely picked those out. He sits next to the church bell that (hopefully) never rings. He gets himself comfortable, thinking about all the decisions he made that have led up to this point. To him being alone and afraid.
Afraid? Since when was Tommyinnit afraid?
Well apparently since now.
