Chapter Text
Roksu Henituse raised his hand and a glowing, translucent shield blocks the enemies’ attacks.
Boom!
Prominent aura rests on one of the towers. A crazed mage observes his operation.
He barks out an order and masked people wearing an all-black outfit seemingly appears out of nowhere. They move to attack the Royal Family, but the lot are protected by highly skilled individuals, so then they turned around and aim at the nobles, citizens alike.
Screams of pain fills the entirety of the plaza, by the injured and the last dying breath of the people.
The king’s forces suppress the enemies. It is not enough. Some slips by and Roksu orders his black-haired companion to kill.
“Ha. This may have gone out of plan, but that’s fine!” The crazed mage claps. He stares down at Cale and goosebumps sprang up all over his body. “I want those redheads. Mind the hair though. If not, I will kill you myself.”
Disgusting pervert.
“Take down the one with the shield first! Bring his head to me.”
The mage gropes his pocket, then throws a bomb at them.
Fuck.
“R–Run!”
“Roksu, Roksu let’s go!”
“Young master, hurry!”
Unlike the others, the people surrounding him, Eric, Taylor, Gilbert, and Amiru did not run away. They were still trying to convince Roksu and protect him.
Cale knows that it’s too late. You won’t be getting out of the bomb’s blast by simply running for a few seconds.
“Miss Rosalyn, please take over.” As Roksu says so, he deactivates his shield and wraps it around the bomb. Immediately, Rosalyn calls upon her mana and raises up a two-layered shield, somehow still keeping tracks of other spells. She blasts away another group of incoming enemies.
ngggg— Boom! Brrt, tt, t, Boooom!
Explosions went off, completely overshadowing the earlier bombs. The air storms and everyone gets down, covering their head.
Almost simultaneously, the silver shield shatters like glass, the holy-looking wings withers away. Roksu stumbles, blood pouring down from his mouth.
“Y–Young master!”
“I’m… okay.”
"No, you're not! Oh-Oh, blood!” Eric pales, almost toppling backwards.
Roksu smiles in satisfaction. The people surrounding him panics, worrying frantically.
“Wha– you think this is funny? You're bleeding!”
Cale, completely worthless against the sea of these talented people, spots a mage conjuring a spell, heading towards Roksu.
Choi Han is too busy protecting the citizens, Rosalyn already has her hands on so many things, Roksu is too tired to even stand up properly, so no one else spotted the hidden mage.
Ugh, fine.
Cale grabs his greatest weapon, the constant thing keeping him company, a wine bottle, then launches it unerringly at the mage.
It smashes his head and the mage topples over.
“Fuck you, you son of a bitch!”
“Cale…!?”
“Don’t stray off too far!” Eric drags him back to his stifling, suffocating circle of Roksu and co. Cale takes one look at his impostor, then chucks out a handkerchief at him.
“Wipe the dirty blood off of you, you look like a fucking mess.”
“Cale! He’s injured!”
“You… Don’t be so…!”
Roksu meets the eyes of his twin, then says, “Thank you.” He plops down on the ground, uncaring what other people thinks. Cale turns back to inspect their surroundings, but Roksu trails off, “…dongsaeng.”
He whips his head so fast and points at him, “Call me that ever again, and I'll make you bleed from your nose next time.”
“Sure,” The redhead responds, a weird glint in his eyes, “dongsaeng.”
“Oh you piece of…!”
Choi Han, now seeing his liege injured, takes out his rage on the mage. He slices the guy in half.
Wow. Where the fuck did he get all these insanely powerful people?
The swordmaster, yes he knows Choi Han is a swordmaster, he has eyes goddammit, rushes out to inspect Roksu, hovering around him like a lost puppy.
Ew.
The crazed mage, now floating in the air, looks down upon the Royal Family, and smiles, “This one’s a failure. Oh well.”
The king’s forces chant a spell, with arrows preparing to shoot, they launches magic attacks towards the mage.
Roksu gestures at Choi Han.
He nods and disappears amongst the crowd.
“I believe I'm done here. And don't worry, I'll come for you beautiful redheads when we meet again! See you next time!”
Cale blinks. The crazed mage along with his allies disappears. What a powerful ability. Teleportation.
As people starts to relax, another bomb went off near the Royal Family. The ground shook as Rosalyn shields them from the rubbles. Amongst the smoke, Cale notices the burnt, charred flesh surrounding the King’s shield, with some even falling from the sky. Luckily, their shield is still up, so the Royal Family is fine. The people around them though, are not so lucky. Some got off of scratches, the others dead, and the rest injured quite severely.
“Shit.”
Roksu appears to be contemplating something. Eric supports him as he tries to stand up.
Rosalyn keeps her shield up for a few more minutes, even as the priest comes over, dragged by Amiru and Gilbert.
“It hurts a lot.” Roksu says.
“Ah. Yes. The drawbacks of using your ancient power too much, I speculate...” The priest gulps and inspects the offered hand. “I saw your silver shield, young master Roksu. You did something amazing.”
Cale rolls his eyes so hard.
Roksu catches it, and he suppress a smile. “You should take a look at Cale first.”
“I’m fine, I’m not hurt.” He shots down, and because he could not help himself, “I’m not an idiot.”
“Yeah? What’s that on your hand then?”
Tsk.
“Nothing. It’s just a scratch. Unlike your possible internal bleeding.”
“You should still get it healed.”
“Excuse me, but are we sharing a body? I don’t see how this is your business.”
Their banter is ended thankfully, or not so thankfully, by the oncoming prince.
Cale sighs loudly.
Now I have to deal with this fake-ass prince.
“I need a drink.”
