Chapter Text
Bob sat curled around Lance the turkey. As Linda ran to check on him he couldn’t take his eyes off the bird. He whimpered in his drunken state, mourning the loss of his freshly cooked friend.
“Bobby, come on, we have to go home.” Linda tried to pull the drunk man off of the floor with little success.
“Ugh C'mon dad we wanna go home and eat already.” Louise groaned in annoyance.
“Umm Linda” Mr. Fishoerder spoke, giving the Belchers his attention now that Shelby had left. “How about I keep Bob here and you can take the little burgers and head home.”
“Oh really? You’d do that Mr. Fishoerder.” Linda smiled appreciatively at the wealthy man shuffling the kids towards the door. “Thank you Mr.Fishoerder I’ll be back for him tomorrow! Bye, Bob.” Linda’s voice rang out through the halls as she approached the exit. When the door finally shut Calvin turned towards the crying man on his floor.
“C'mon Bob, let's get you up.” Calvin quickly brought Bob to his feet, carefully steadying the younger man. “You’ve managed to get yourself quite wobbly now haven’t you?”
Bob mumbled incoherently, leaning into the man’s white suit jacket. Calvin let a rare gentle side come out as he softly brushed his hands against Bob’s side.
“So Bob, how much of my absinthe did you get into?”
“Ugh, ha*hicup*d way too much. No more to drink.” Mr. Fishoerder’s eyes widened at the admission.
“Oh goodness, this might be a worse night than I thought.” Calvin took a detour to a nearby bathroom hoping to encourage the thicker man to vomit. “We can’t have you dying of alcohol poison now can we dear.”
Calvin didn’t know where the affectionate name came from, but as Bob leaned over the toilet he didn’t dwell on it. He let his hand comb through Bob’s fragile and fading locks.
“You know Bob they have shampoos for people like you.”
Bob feeling a tad bit soberer with the alcohol leaving his system turned to look at Calvin.
“We’ve been adding water to the bottle for 8 months.”
Calvin shivered internally at the thought but schooled his expression before Bob noticed. “You can take some of mine home.” Calvin didn’t know where the offer came from. He wasn’t typically the giving type, but something about the oversized man, so close to sitting in his lap, made Calvin lose his mind. He wanted to hug and comfort and maybe even kiss. Those thoughts ended as soon as they came. ‘He's a married man, Calvin, I refuse to be a Shelby.’ His heartbreak of the afternoon had made him rethink his infatuation with the woman, and others like her that swam around his mind.
After a few dry heaves, Bob looked up at Calvin and let him know they were good to move on. The younger man got up shakily leaning on Mr.Fishoerder for support.
“I’ve never been one to take in drunks you know?” Calvin said as he led the burly man up the stairs. “You’ve always been different I think,” Calvin spoke more to himself than the wasted man in his arms. Calvin looked over as Bob rested his head gently on his shoulders. “There’s just something about you Bob.”
Mr. Fishoerder let his voice trail off as they reached the first guest room.
“This is where you’ll be sleeping tonight Bob.” Calvin led Bob towards the bed pushing him to sit down. Bob fumbled a bit with his shoelaces before his hands were pushed away.
“You’re really not a good drunk Bob.” Mr. Fishoerder chuckles as he pulls the shoes off, allowing Bob to continue undressing. He tried to still the hitch in his breath as Bob unbuttoned his pants and allowed them to sink to his ankles. Calvin laughed as Bob failed to wiggle completely out of the pants. He bent down tugging the pants the rest of the way off. Calvin guided Bob’s arms up holding them there as he wrestled the shirt off of the man.
“Thanks, babe,” Bob mumbled as he wiggled into the bed and under the sheets. Mr. Fishoerder felt his cheeks warm as he hurriedly rushed out of the room, closing the door.
Mr. Fishoerder walked to his room, closing the door. He let himself fall onto his bed, gripping his beating heart.
‘What are you doing to me, Bob’ Mr. Fishoeder gave a sigh before allowing himself to get ready for bed and finally rest.
