Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

I’m sorry, father. I am a hero.

“You can’t deny your father’s company has exploded in wealth since the recent troubles began. Since All Might’s death, even. Your family is essentially war profiteering. And you’re wearing it on you now, look at your clothes! That fur! I smell your perfume and want to throw up. What do you have to say for yourself?”

Yaoyorozu, genius prodigy, heiress to over a billion dollars, stayed silent. After a moment, she began emitting crimson and black sparks of her Creation. They danced all over her in a cocoon of light. Akibara shuffled in front of her. If this came to violence, it was victory, proving the heiress had no response. Still, nobody wanted to get flattened. Everyone standing near Akibara wisely took several steps back.

The promised money the reporter would receive for successfully damaging Yaoyorozu reputation and thereby stock prices would sweeten any suffering.

The sparks all dispersed into the room in a soft wind revealing a beautiful and fierce statue of a goddess. Bits of spark still hung around her and on her skin, the red light painting her. Yaoyorozu Momo was near completely nude, except for simple underwear.

Her hair tie had dispersed into motes of light, which made her hair lift and dance as if she were weightless. Her face makeup even danced away, briefly covering her face in a mask of red and black. She radiated power and femininity from every inch of her body. The circling sparks provided strong light that caught every shape of the marble statue. Her eyes did not move from the man. She was immovable.

“Do you know what this means?” The girl asked firmly, but without emotion or condescension. Everyone had gone still and silent. She took all control and attention like Thirteen’s Black Hole. Standing closer to eight feet tall than seven, with flawless alabaster skin over powerful muscles and overly generous curves, she shed all material possessions and displayed only the power natural to her own.

This was not the plan. The reporter had tried to force the girl into a lose-lose situation, whereby she would humiliate herself whether she defended her father or not. Agree and condemn her father and herself, or argue and look like a petulant child benefiting from greed. Even walking away would make her father seem guilty. Akihiro knew such smear tactics were distasteful and would only convince the worst of the masses, but he only truly cared for the money.

The shining marble statue repeated itself, louder, making the reporter flinch. Answering the question with a question.

“Do you know what this means?”

“N-no. You’re … naked, why? Apparently you just destroyed millions of yen worth of furs and fabrics to practice exhibitionism! To prove your wealth!” He tried to take back momentum, not let her deliver whatever cutting response the girl obviously crafted. The spell of silence cast was broken, and slowly those gathered speculated, whispered, flashed free supermodel level photos that would soon ravage the entire internet.

Yaoyorozu held a commanding hand towards another reporter in the crowd, one she recognized from the microphone logo as an ally of her father’s. The bespectacled woman, who shivered to be addressed, passed her microphone and stepped back into the crowd.

“My quirk, Creation, allows me to make things with my own body as fuel. It also allows me to reabsorb said creations into myself. Doubtless, even you can put two and two together. Everything I wore tonight was of my own making. No animals harmed, no labor enslaved. I make thousands of bolts of such rare materials per annum, all such made towards the ending of endangered animal hunting. Yes, for a profit - but the majority of said money donated to preservation efforts.”

She narrowed her eyes. “I happen to think those who wish to wear such things must pay a price for them.” Softly then, “I certainly do.” A beat of silence, then, as the heiress turned to face the allied cameraman.

“I love my father. He and I are of one mind in most things, not all. We are individuals. We do not share each other’s sins. However, If anyone wishes to attack him, I will not stand aside. And I will certainly not be used as a tool to do so.” Yaoyorozu glared back towards the pathetic, cringing reporter. “Inform your masters.”

She turned from the man, who wilted with the destruction of his career and the coming punishment from the scary men who paid him to shame the princess. Facing again the camera man and reporter affiliated with her father so they could get the best footage, she activated her quirk once more.

It built slowly this time. Lines of crimson and jet black danced along her skin, over peaks and valleys, and through the ridges of muscle. Instead of the priceless costume of a debutante, however, she formed her true self. A skin tight combat uniform of a hero appeared. The catsuit molded itself to her completely, painted and formed directly over her skin. Black with red accents. A scandalously long streak of deep cleavage pressed from the zipper that ran down the center of the suit. High heels brought her seven and a half foot height up even more, upon which Yaoyorozu Momo held her head high.

“This day, the anniversary of my own mother’s death and the death of All Might, I see that this world has darkened, not brightened. When will the grieving end? For me, it ends today. Someone must do Toshinori Yagi’s work.”

Her face smiled not the smile of All Might, but just as warm. Softer, without teeth.

“I will do it. And many like me. I announce my acceptance into Yueii Merged Collegiate Academy and take the now trademarked hero name Genesis.” She passed the microphone back to the grinning reporter woman.

Those present felt what seemed to be the spirit of All Might among them again, the great Peace. Evil shivered and fled. They didn’t know that he truly was with them, within the young woman.

    Genesis held One For All.
