Chapter Text
You were on the ground, holding the side of your face. The side that Red backhanded you hard on. The five other skeletons were staring at you in silent shock, their sockets wide and their eye lights pinpricks.
You were in shock, to say the least. You’d always held out until now, hoping and wishing that you’d get the chance to date Red, to prove that you were “date mate” material to him.
Now that wasn’t possible...
Not after this...
“Fine. Sit ‘ere and think of a way ta make it up for wreckin’ Grace’s car, rat,” Red spat at you. He and Edge went back up to their room in their large house. Edge did a double take back at you before heading up the stairs.
You lived with six skeletons: the tales, the swaps, and the fells. At least that’s how you categorized them as. Sans and Papyrus, Stretch and Blue, then finally Edge and Red.
How it all started? You needed a place to stay while you attended college and the two fell bros quickly gave you an offer.
All you had to do was respect the house rules, do your chores, keep clean, don’t pick fights, have respect for anyone and everyone who walks in or stays, and then some. The place was a little boring at first, but that changed when the Tale and Swap bros came here.
But the real reason that you accepted the offer was that you have the biggest crush on Red. It started back at that fortunate chance in the park.
Correction: did have the biggest crush on Red.
It all started going downhill when this girl started dating Edge, then Red, even tried getting with the other skeletons, but only managed to hook up with the Fell bros.
Grace Dilio was her name, but you secretly called her Grace Dildo. A blonde who had light, hazel eyes with a soft, skinny figure you envied. She was naturally pretty and had a cute and innocent fashion sense, which you never expected Red to like. She was super nice and sweet to the skeletons you lived with! But that was all just a wolf in sheep’s clothing...
She was really a self-centered bitch who likes to flaunt and show off her skeleton boyfriends whenever she gets the chance. She was showing them off like some grand prize or trophy, or even like an animal exhibit… She always made fun of you for every little thing every chance she got.
Now, how did you get here, on the floor, slapped by your ex-crush you ask?
Grace, the “date mate” as Edge called her, accused you of scratching her car by taking it on a joyride in the middle of the night. You only rode a motorcycle to the city, a bike to nearby places in the town or neighborhood, then walked to work. It was close by. A little deli shop.
You tried making your case, telling everyone the truth about how much of a wolf in sheep’s clothing she was. A bitch.
Red didn’t understand the message, blinded by rage. If you had to guess, he was pushed off the edge when you called his self-proclaimed “soulmate” a bitch, and just slapped you. It quickly shut you up faster than anything in your life.
That dumb blonde bimbo had nearly everyone wrapped around her fucking pinkie and it pissed you off. It was you against your world basically…
You stood up quietly, Blue walked up to you with an ice pack and a glass of water.
“Human, are you-“
“Shut up! I don’t need your damn sympathy, Blue! I know you’re just feeling sorry for me, obviously going to stay on the bitch’s side! Stop being so fake towards me, I’m not some baby like you!” You roared, knocking the glass of water onto Blue. The ice pack was knocked onto the ground, but the glass was caught thanks to his quick reflexes from training so much. Stretch’s magic quickly flared up, but you left for your room before he was able to do anything. A loud slam rang, shaking the house slightly.
Luckily your room is on the first floor, so you didn’t have to pass by Red or Edge on the way up. Thank the fucking stars. You crashed onto the bed, burying your face into the pillow as you silently wept.
But what was the point of tears?
Red hated you. Edge turned his back on you and probably the others too...
You’d been so kind, holding back your own feelings whenever you saw Red and Grace together. But to be honest, you were a little envious. You wanted to make Red smile and laugh. You wanted him to comb through your hair. You wanted to cook with him, and for him. You wanted to make dumb and silly puns and jokes with him.
You wanted Red.
