Chapter Text
The clients closed off for the day and Reigan sighed a hefty breath. Shutting down his laptop he looked towards his student and the other 2 kids within the room, got up and announced:
"Ah! Well it looks like we have managed to get through all of our clients for the day."
His hands struck several poses as if they were competing against one another, above his head, into pointers, back to the side and a few thumb niks here and there. Teruki always was amused at this little quirk of Reigan's, whereas Tome placed her hands under her chin, shifting her weight simultaneously from one foot to another. Reiagn's influence was present with the kids he had interacted with for the past 3 years, 5 for his original student, though it was more bond based for him.
Teruki chuckled at the sight of her, earning a little nudge from the 'Miniature Version Of Reigan', in retaliation he stuck his tongue out, Tome mushed her face into a pout and stuck out her tongue too. Though she only lasted 5 seconds before letting out a little chortle of glee, Teruki managed 2 seconds longer before giving in to her contagious laughter which filled the empty room. Mob turned back towards them, seeing the scene and smiling. Reigan basked in at the joy of these kids for a moment before initiating several snaps grabbing all their attention.
"Well I am certainly glad that you all are appreciative of your fellow peers here," He shifted his weight onto his other foot as his hands now opened up exposing his palm, "You can all take the rest of the day off, I'm sure you wouldn't want to waste your youth here with a poor old soul like me." Delivering that last statement clasping his hands together, as he pretended to wipe away a fake tear for show.
"Like anyone we could get bored of you Shishou." Mob replied, with that same gentle smile, before adding "Though I do need to get home soon, my parents are taking me and Ritsu somewhere." With that the esper hastily made his way to the door and waved a goodbye to the remaining inhabitants of the room, then disappeared into the streets.
"Well!" Started Teruki as he pivoted his heel away from the door frame facing the two. He placed his hands behind his head and clasped them comfortably behind his neck, continuing, "I've got nothing today, so I'll stay for a bit. Maybe help organize the place, you look like you could use it."
"Yeah same, my parents have been cooking something ALL DAY for tonight but whatever it is it smelled horrible in the process. I'd rather not go back until the coast is clear"
Reigan snorted at how bluntly she bashed her parent's cooking skills, "Well Tome-chan. I'm sure your parents are doing their best. If you want any snacks to feast on, cupboards right there."
Tome grinned at the confirmation, whipped out her phone, and turned to her partner in crime "Got it, thanks Reigan-san! Now Teruki-kun, I need your help in this game, now don;t think this means you're better than me when it comes to..."
Reigan just let the two goof off on whatever it was that they're playing and then opened his phone to update the shared calendar between him and Serizawa.

The afternoon was going swell, Reigan admittedly was rather bored without Serizawa to talk to, though getting rest while you're sick is the best way to return quicker, it still didn't ease the lingering feeling of loneliness. He glanced over to Tome and Teruki, listening to their excited chatter.
"They finally updated this game after two years bro you have NO idea how excited I was." She was shaking him back and forth as if that were pounding the feeling into his brain. "Woah ok-! jeez! I believe you Tome-san!"
"No you don't"
"Yeah I do"
"No you don't Teruki-kun,"
"Yeah I do."
"No, you don't Teruki-kun"
Teruki stared at her with a sore expression, and discontent eyes.
"Damn you Tome-san." He got up from the couch and dusted off crumbs off scarce chips that scattered throughout his jeans
"wAIt Teruki! Nooo don't leave me!" Tome cried out bashfully as Teruki stepped off further and further away.
"Calm down, I'm just getting some snacks."
He opened the cabinet and reached around, they, mainly Tome, had practically eaten out to their heart's content, though he still grabbed a random bag and made his way back to the couch plopping down beside Tome.
"Alright, continue you secret Reigan lovechi-" He abruptly stopped himself once he saw her eyes glued to the snack bag, they were bulging open and her brows looked like agitated animal's. He was so taken aback by this that he immediately whipped his head towards the back panicky eyes examining it, nothing stuck out to him about it. Just regular Sour Cream chips in bright green packaging, Japanese words gracing the page with the little mascot winking at them. He looked back at Tome to see how her eyes looked downwards towards the phone, her brows still held secrets but they were furrowed, trying to keep them from spilling.
".......Do you hate these chips..?"
Snapping back out of her daze, "Ah-! No of course not. It's just." She fumbled with her phone. "They just...remind me of...someone."
"...who?"
"Eh, sorry it's- someone we agreed to not talk about..."
Teruki's expression quickly turned bitter as the realization truck hit him.
"Ah...him."
"Yeah. I know we agreed he isn't worth thinking or reminiscing about...considering how he cut contact." Tome slightly grunted delivering these lines, promoting a placed his hand on her shoulder by Teru, forming circles around it to sooth his sister by bond.
"I-Its just weird. Like today I keep seeing signs of him?" Her hands shot up emitting confused motions as she spoke,
"This game..he introduced it to me, on the walk here I saw an ad where there was a freckled blue-eyed kid." Her hand gestures increased, nervousness becoming more apparent.
"I saw someone walking with a hamster...a-and someone was wearing that jacket, but i-in purple." Teruki listened carefully, Reigan too now positioned his ear to face them, concern filled him with every word.
"And now this." She reached out and grabbed the chips. "This was his favorite snack. H-He told me it was because of the packaging." She tightened her grip around the green bag, wrinkles forming. “..he found it funny how it seemed like these chips were made for him.."
"Ah...I remember that. That was when we pranked Reigan with Otouto-kun." The blond grudgingly confirmed.
"Mhm. I-Its just. REALLY weird. He was the one who cut off all contact...is this a taunt? What? Do we gotta say his name 3 times in order to complete this weird- summoning spell??"
"I mean…….we could do that if that eases your worries..?" Teruki tilted his head
"Yeah. I-I think it would."
"Alright….um…I'll count to three, then we both say his name...I-I guess..?"
"Wait, his full name or just family name?"
"Try his full name- Just to seal the deal?"
"Alright fine- Damn- this is so stupid." she pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Yeah- Let's just get it over with."
"Sooner the better."
"Three..." Teruki began.
"Two..." Tome continued.
"One..." They said in unison with Reigan mouthing the number.
"SUZUKI SHŌ, SUZUKI SHŌ, SUZUKI SHŌ."
All three chanted into the room emulated by the warm glow of the setting sun peeking through the blinds, the sudden silence that followed engulfed their ears, it was unbearable.
"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUGGGHHH!" Tome threw her head back into the couch pillow, hands burrowing her face. "What did I expect that to do? Make him bust through a freaking wall? Uuuggghhh."
Teruki huffed, pleased seeing his friend back to her old expressive self. "Ah well, we tried. Doesn't seem like he's coming back."
Reigan added on, "Yeah, it's been 2 years. Suzuki-kun had to have at least seen our messages by now, unless he got transported by the aliens to another planet, I doubt he-" A loud knock cut him off.
All three of their heads whipped to the hallway, now conceding with steps.
Who does this person think they are?! Did they not see the 'closed' sign indicating the status of the office?? Crap there was a ton of wrappers and crumbs everywhere too! Teruki luckily read Reigan's sinking expression and quickly started using his telekinesis to uplift the crumbs and scattered wrappers into the nearby garbage can, Tome dusted herself off and reimbursing the couch frantically to the best of her ability as the steps got louder. Reigan snapped out of his chair and into his conman self to respectfully tell this person to leave.
"Sorry but Spirits and Such is closed at this time, if you'd like we can set up an apppintmen-" Reigan stopped himself as soon as the person, a kid, revealed himself.
A kid they haven't seen in over 700 days.
He hadn't changed all too much, other than the obvious molding of puberty hormones giving his face length and a firmer jawline. Though a piercing was present above his right eyebrow. He was wearing that same iconic green-cream jacket. Hair bore a faded undershave, still spiked up and bold as ever. He had gotten a bit muscular, a sure sign he knew about how much time had passed.
