Gina Porter has always been independent with her always moving around. She never thought that she would make such a strong attachment to someone so quickly. But as it happens this person is not in the least bit interested in what she wants. All she has left is her wishes of what could have been.
Ricky was always there for her. She was always there for him. He brought her so much joy and contentment over the last semester and to think it meant nothing to him was heartbreaking. She didn’t want to say goodbye but knew she had to.
She went to the dressing room with the intention of telling him how she felt and wishing that he would feel the same way but after seeing him and Nini kiss she knew she was too late. She decided then that she just needed to cut her losses and say goodbye. He told her the same.
Now 3 months later in a new town she still can’t get him out of her mind. Always wondering what he is doing and with who. Maybe him and Nini are super happy. Or maybe he is at Slices hanging out with everybody. Or maybe skateboarding in the cold weather with that goofy hat on that she made him just thinking of her. Or maybe the thing she really wishes is true is happening and he is missing her too.
She shakes her head at those thoughts knowing it doesn’t help her to think about things that aren’t relevant anymore. The most likely thing that is happening back in Salt Lake is that everyone has now forgotten about her and just acting like she never existed just reverting back to their lives pre Gina Porter.
She hears the doorbell and goes downstairs to see who it could be. They weren’t expecting anyone that she knew of. When she is on the top step she sees her mom has answered the door and sees him. The person she has been wishing about since she left Salt Lake. Ricky Bowen is at her front door with flowers and chocolates in his arms.
She doesn’t know how she gets there but the next thing she realizes is that she is in his arms smelling that horrible sent of Throb not caring just happy that all of her wishes are about to come true.
